Have you uh, tried increasing the volume? Because I'm not having this problem at all. Or It could be that your earpiece is defective.
You could try Voodoo Sound, but since you're un-rooted you'll have to get the pro version. And I can't comment on how effective it is since I haven't tried it.

Has to be your phone! I have the same device and when I push the extra volume button its so loud its like having it on speaker phone!!!!

Damm, I guess I have to contact Negri about sending it back.
Thanks

Ok. I have the T315..
And I went to Best Buy in St Louis and bought a Zagg screen protector and they installed it.
Little did I notice that there is no earpiece speaker on the model they sell.
The zagg was covering my ear piece.
I went back yesterday and the nice Samsung lady pulled back the Zagg....snipped out a hole with tiny scissors.
Then reinstalled it..
BAM!!! I got volume now..
Thanks to all who tried to help.

Incall audio

my top speaker/the one use for making calls sounds like a cheap pair of headphones when the volume is above 8, is anyone else experiencing this?
Yes......... I was hoping I was the only one, but it seems it's not so.
It cracks alot, including ringing. I'd like to know how other phones are, as I am going to return it and go with the Titan 2 if it's common (vs exchanging).
It happens only with volume at 9 and 10 for me also.
does anybody else have this problem? its starting to get on my nerves
The one you put next to your ear during call? No mine is fine.
Did either of you do a wet "skin" install?
get a can of compressed air and blow in it.. gets rid of any potential moisture

Rattling Volume Rocker

I am wondering how common the loose/rattling volume rocker issue is. It wouldn't bother me except for when the phone vibrates the volume rocker makes a sharp rattling noise. I am still in the 30 day return period but I don't want to go that route if I am just going to get another phone with the same issue.
Any feedback is great, yes rattling rocker, no its perfect, any response helps.

I can wiggle it back and forth a bit. But not so much that it is affecting the phone vibration

^same with me. i can wiggle back and forth and get a slight 'sqeaking' noise, but no rattling.
Thanks for the responses guys. AT&T decided it was defective and the rattling noise is gone with the new phone. The button can wiggle but no sharp rattling noise so I am all set now.

I kept having volume keys fall off of my inspire 4g, and finally got sick of getting replacements so I moved on. On the next phone I got the $50 Otter box which does a lot to hold the keys in place. Since everyone is making these super lightweight phone (because apparently we're all too fat and lazy to lift more than 150grams) I would recommend case-ing up your keys.

Question about "loose" speaker grills

Wondering if others have noticed that the speaker grills on the sides of the new note 10.1 are loose- ie if you tip it on the sides can you tap the speaker grills and they kinda move back and forth? Not a big issue, just wondering if it was just my device or if they are all like this? Appreciate the feedback.

Mine is like that too, but it doesn't bother me. I didn't notice it until I read it somewhere else on the forums.
Mine do not seem to move at all so its not all of them.

Mine is like that too. Not a big issue for me either.
One of my Notes does that, I took a small piece of tape and used it on both edges and they don't move anymore. It helps my ocd lol.

yea thats like mine, only moves if i touch it
I have the same issue with one of the speakers, and both the power and volume buttons. There is enough of a loose fit, that any touch results in a metal clanking type noise. Rather disappointed at the build quality. My first Galaxy Tab (two years and running) has never had any of these build quality issues.

I recommend you do something because my speaker is nice and tight when I touch it

mine only clacks if i tap it. but my tap is louder than the click and i generally don't spend my time tapping my tablet.
My tablet does not have this problem. Well ... it did not have any loose speaker grills last night. However, today the right grill is now loose. I have been treating this thing very carefully as I do not have a case for it yet. So nothing traumatic happened to it that would cause the grill to become loose.
I have two 32 GB tablets and the speakers are not loose.
Mine actually felt I don't know where and I cannot find it.
I wanted to fix that, so I contacted Samsung support. I'll skip the disappointing conversation with the support person, but at the end my best option according to the tech support is to go to samsungparts.com and buy it there.
I put all the info there, but I cannot find the specific one that actually is required. Has anyone replace this part? If so, which part should I buy?
Thanks

In-call audio boost?

Hey fellas,
i gave my father my old HTC ONE X rooted with the ARHD Rom. But the volume during calls is pretty low. It is increased on max level.
Is there any Audio Call booster or something like that?
Thanks!

Same thing here, only I gave it to my father-in-law. He's says he can barely hear it and he's asking when I'm going to give him my m8.
I think i fixed it.. You just have to clean the speaker holes with a toothbrush, but try not to push the dust inside. My father said there is a difference

Built-in mic is "glued" to one end of the power/volume button strip. Should have a black, rubbery cover on it with a tiny round opening on the side facing outward.

I don't know that there's a hard reset button on this model. If you did prick the thing with a sharp-pointed needle, there's a chance you might have torn the mic's membrane.
Hard reset button is a combination of the power and volume buttons.
