Finally decided to upgrade to 4.3. But can't do it OTA cos my 4.1.2 is rooted.
I just need to confirm do I have to use back the original country firmware? Like I bought my phone in Hong Kong so have to use back the Hong Kong version?
If yes, then how do I find out which country/region is my phone from? Below are my phone settings info:
Baseband version: N7100XXDLK7
Kernel version: 3.0.31-780747 [email protected]#1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Feb 6 21:32:32 KST 2013
Build Number: JZO54K.N7100ZSDMB1
Also how else can I get info for my PDA, CSC and MODEM?
All help will be greatly appreciated.
U can use any n7100 firmware.
Just make sure u r ready for knox bootloader.
Sent from the corner of this rounded earth (N7105 v4.3, powered by LionROM)
You can flash firmware for n7100 from any region except career based roms.If you dont want knox bootloader, there are knox free 4.3 firmwares available on XDA forum, you can flash them without worrying 'cause you can roll back to older firmwares whenever you you want.
If you want to know the firmware's region/country you can always look upto sammobile.com or here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1356325
Hope it helps..

My country (South Africa) is slow with the times. The latest firmware out here is 4.1.1. I'm trying to install Simplistic Framework but apparently the earliest it supports is 4.1.2. Now can I just download and flash the stock firmware from the UK from Samfirmware.com? Will it work? Here are the details for that firmware:
GT-N7100 United Kingdom 2013 February 4.1.2 N7100XXDMB2 N7100OXXDMB2
Here are my phone details:
Model: GT-N7100
Product Code: GT-N7100TADXFA
PDA: N7100XXALJ1
CSC: N7100OJVALJ1
Modem: N7100XXALIH
Or should I just flash Omega rom?
Thanks!
firmware update
.. I have same problem with my note 2 n7100 international edition bought it in Russia few month ago but I am in Georgia right no but no new 4.1.2 update arrived. Any one have any info when sumsung will realise new firmware for my country?
I Read that new new firmware have battery drine issue? Is it true? Or it was fixed? Sorry for my english and thanks
ok, i had the same problem in my country with delayed N7100 updates. so i downloaded the UK version of 4.1.2
the UK version worked fine
but i noticed that the battery drain is much more than the stock 4.1.1
i am now on Omega v12 Rom and it is 4.1.2 with great utilities and less battery drain for sure
i recommend Omega for now :good: as the look is the same as the stock 4.1.2 except for few things such as notifications .... etc

You're good to go..happy flashing!
I restored the phone to the factory settings using Kies and it downloaded the stock image with the new firmware.
After the kies update Service version : Android Version : 4.1.2 / Baseband Version : I317UCAMA4 and the phone booted up and everything was good. I then got a popup for AT&T to update and that update downgraded to I317UCAMC3 build JZ054K.I317UCAMC3. And to make my question the ATT update it says from Kes,Your devices current firmware version is not supported update firmware via Kies.
Current Firmware version: PDA:MC3/Phone:MC3/CSC:MC3 (ATT)
Kernel Version:3.0.31-578342 se [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Apr 10 17:14:59 KST 2013
Why would it downgrade the firmware?
UCAMC3 is a newer firmware, not an older one
Thanks for the smackdown but why the Kies Error?

Hi all,
I bought my Note 2 from overseas. When I go about phone and Software Update, it tells me I have the latest version installed already. However, these are the specs:
The model number is GT-N7100,
Android version 4.1.2,
Baseband version N7100XXDLK7,
Kernel version 3.0.31-1071214 [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Mar 27 10:33:53 KST 2013
Build number JZ054K.N7100XXDMC3
I'm just wondering where I can go to download a firmware update for my Note 2 so that I can preserve all the information on my phone.
Cheers,
Lycan
Same problem happens with me bought my gnote 2 frm u.s running on 4.1.2 I manualy updated my note 2 with odin frm official 4.1.2 to 4.4.2 offical kitkat xxufnd1 no data lost but I actually lost network of my phone everything is working fine aftr update no data lost nothing but no network then I got network repaired through z3x box and now working fine

A friend of mine asked me if I could help her to get her old GT-N7105 working again. She said she had some person trying to do something to it (I think that person tried to unlock it, but I am not sure) but something went fubar and the phone didn't recognise the SIM-cards anymore. I said I could take a look at it, however rooting with Androids is a new territory for me.
I first of all tried with my own SIM-card, nothing happened. Then I got a brand new SIM card and tried with that, nothing happens there either.
I downloaded Samsung Kies but the phone don't want to show up there (I have the USB-drivers installed) but it does show up on my PC. I have tried different USB-ports to see if Samsung Kies will work, but no. If I run Samsung Smart Switch the phone shows up in that program, but I can't do anything with it (not even the "Emergency firware restore").
If I check the info on the phone I can see that the IMEI and baseband says "Unknown" and I have these latest days searched around here on XDA and other places on what to do but none of the threads I've found has worked for me. I tried a factory reset in the beginning, that didn't do a thing so I downloaded Odin and flashed in the latest firmware I could find from Sammobile but that didn't help either.
Is it possible to get this phone working again, and if so how? I downloaded a Samsung Phone Info app and got some information from it, but if there's more information needed then say so and I'll do my best to find it.
Thanks in advance for all your help.

The latest released FW is from Hong Kong, it was released in 2017-03-06 but the latest from where I live (Sweden) is from 2015-03-17. They both have the same version number, does it matter if I take the one from Hong Kong or should I use the one for the "Nordic countries"?

Use Updato.com for stock firmware. These are the latest firmware for Sweden released April 2017: https://updato.com/firmware-archive...=15&r=COV,TLA,HTS&order=date&dir=desc&exact=1. Flash the carrier version with Odin and see if that helps.
I would try the Nordic firmware.

I flashed the Nordic firmware from Sammobile, didn't help.
Gonna give h_maharaj's tips a go. I'll let you all know how it works out.
I talked to my friend (who owns the phone) and she said she had Three (3, HTS) as carrier when she had it working. So I took the latest Three (3, HTS) firmware I could find from Updato wich was the N7105XXSFQA5 (released April 24, 2017) and I flashed the phone with Odin3 v.3.04, it still says "Unknown" on both "Baseband" and "IMEI".
