Hi, I've recently started rooting and installing custom ROMs on my LG Optimus G (E973, Rogers) and most of the time, I've been successful with no bugs to report. However, when I flashed
CM 10.2 Stable
CM 11 Nightly 12-23
Liquid Smooth 2.3.7 (4.3.1)
on my phone, I would get a strange problem. Whenever I try to connect to a Wifi network, the text under the label would say "Saved", or "Saved, Secured with WPA" and never get connected. I've tried reconnecting, changing the region code, rebooting, and reflashing, but none of these fixed the problem. It's sad considering Cyanogenmod and Liquid Smooth seemed to be my two favorite custom ROMs with all of their features. Any help would be appreciated in solving this problem. Thanks in advance!

change routers security to open, if you can connect than change back to wpa2.
Would I have to do that to connect to every secure network? Because then I might as well just try other custom ROMs...

no just to make sure your phone connects to the router, and that you have issues with certain security, like i have issues with wpa, but wpa2 works .

i installed this about a week or two ago on my phone and everything worked perfectly,i loved it. but now for some reason,my wifi does NOT work. It scans, finds, and connects, but does nothing after that. no web pages load, the market doesnt load,NADA. Anyone got any ideas? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated
Reboot if you havent already, and remove that access point and re-add it. If that doesnt help, reflash ROM

tried all the above, backed up to 6.0 and wifi worked, did a complete re flash of the rom and still nothing =(
btw-i dont know too much about flashing,re-flashing,so everything i do is through Rom Manager, dont know if that makes a difference
I have had issues with cm now and then. When i reflash, i do a wipe. If that doesnt work, i let the phone update when its in bootloader which sets up the enginering version of espresso. I then reflash from there and good as new. If that still doesnt work, redownload rom and flash. Occasionally the file may corrupt on the sd card. That has happened to me.

Try turning on bluetooth first then wifi. I read it in one of the CM threads and it works for me. I had the same problem.

I think this is still the trick for any CM based ROM
Well it is only a release candidate. I had major issues on RC1. I am running build 171 of the nightlies, everything is stable more or less. Wifi will occasionally glitch out, but that's partly my router I think. In any case, rebooting the phone or the router normally fixes it.

today I installed cyanogenmod 10.0.0 stable for my tmobile galaxy s2. everything is great except one thing. Whenever I turn on wifi on the phone it crashes my router. I've tried searching fixes for this but couldn't find any. Anybody know what to do? I really need to be able to use wifi on the phone.
Thanks for the help.
nobody has any ideas??
What kind of router are you using? I honestly don't think the phone is rebooting the router. I would however take a look at if another device on your network or someone on your network that you don't know about using your cells mac or ip causing a fault in the router OS and force reboot

Cm10 stable did the same exact thing to my router. Idk why. It happens every time

Hey guys,
I am unable to use WIFI Tether on any custom rom other than Touch wiz based rom.
Got an S3 through Rogers(SGHI747M)
As instructed, I've clean installed all the roms out in Original developement section including LIquid smooth, Carbon, AOSP Tasker.
The only non touch wiz rom that seems to work right now is Liquid smooth RC7 4.1.2 version but that too with the help of an app on play store.
Where am i going wrong here? Ive tried going through google and xda local search and have found no concrete solution to this problem.
Currently still running RC7 4.1.2 Liquid Smooth.
The network ssid seems to show up but cant connect when encrypted. Sometimes with these custom roms, even the ssid wont show.
Any recommendation guys?
Ibelive on some of the new ROMS Cm 10.1 for example there were issues with wifi tether while useing WPA and LTE tethering. I though some of those issues had been worked out. I may be wrong on that though. Does it work with open security?

Open security don't work either. Some claim that wifi tether will not work on cm10.1 based roms with Rogers and others have quickly debunked that theory but without having a possible solution to getting tether to work in cm 10.1. I really don't know who to believe anymore.
I need to reset the KF to discover new WiFi networks. Connections to saved connections works fine.
I`m using the last nightly build and tried a full wipe.
I don't know if this is a common issue.
Running cm10.2. Never had that issue. -- Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire using xda premium
Same problem
WiFi Analyzer and several other WiFi scanners do not work on 10.2 nightlies. I went back to 10.1 where they work well. Anyone else with this issue?

I tried with all nightlies versions, but the problem continues.
Whenever I want to see new networks, I have to restart the KF.
Update CM

There was a problem with one of the nighties, I updated to the newest nightie and the wi-fi works great.
Wifi analyzers and CM10.2
On my Motorola Defy+ I have to let my wifi disabled before opening "Wifi Analyzer". This way the application is able to scan for networks.
You have to enable the "auto enable wifi" option on the application settings.
Seems to work fine on my device.
Hello all,
I have tried out a variety of ROMs on my Z1 Compact (D5503), but unfortunately there is an issue with every Lollipop-based ROM that I've flashed. I can connect to WPA2 Personal networks just fine, but attempting to connect to a WPA2 Enterprise network takes much, much longer than usual. Not only this, but the Wi-Fi will disable itself when it disconnects, and when [re-]enabling Wi-Fi in Settings, the Settings app will freeze with "Turning on wi-fi", seemingly indefinitely. Sometimes it will connect again and the app will continue responding, sometimes it won't, but this only happens with known WPA2 Enterprise networks in range. Using the quick toggle has no effect either.
Lollipop ROMs I have tried include Dirty Unicorns, CyanogenMod, Resurrection Remix, SlimLP and CyanHacker. It seems it is common to any Lollipop-based ROM I flash, but I have no clue as to what is going on. Nothing seems to appear in the Logcat either.
Does anybody else have this issue, or know how to solve this? Some searching has led me to similar issues for people on Nexus devices (https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=80028 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/help/lollipop-wifi-issues-takes-long-time-to-t2941686), with no solutions.
For now, I unfortunately had to downgrade to KitKat -- every KitKat ROM (stock and AOSP) has absolutely no issue with connecting to these networks quickly, but it seems that most developers have moved to Lollipop.
I can confirm that. I have the same problem in our company network. But could it be, this problem is related to the MAC address problem? (same MAC address on all phones using cm12)
And here I thought I was the only one! It is a relief to hear that I am not the only one with this problem, because it means that it probably has a solution.
Well, I have tested out both Resurrection Remix (CM based) and Dirty Unicorns (AOSP based), and they both have the same MAC address. The bug seems to be described at https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/NIGHTLIES-659 and http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Known_Issues_page_for_amami and there seems to be a fix suggested at http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2-tablet/help/change-mac-adress-permanently-cm12-t3038146 although it seems like it is not just limited to CM.
I will test out one of these ROMs tomorrow with a modified MAC address to see whether the fix helps at all.
I didn't try it yet because I often try new nightlys and don't want to copy over the MAC address file everytime again. But it would be interresting to know if this causes the problem. Actually I just disable wifi when I'm at work. Please share your test results then.
Well I tried it with Dirty Unicorns unofficial ROM today, and I managed to change my MAC address by editing the file /system/etc/firmware/wlan/prima/(something).ini. This was confirmed by the "About Phone" dialog in the Settings, unfortunately it doesn't seem to help the connection to wi-fi, which suffers the same issues. Deleting wi-fi networks seems impossible too.
Too bad. My hope is that the upcoming release of Sonys official Lollipop ROM will help to fix this and other issues in our open source versions.
WiFI works perfectly in the last unofficial CM nightly from OmarEinea, unfortunately there are a few other issues that have since been fixed (A2DP is a bit dodgy), and it's missing whatever CM features have been implemented in the past couple of months. It shows that WPA2 Enterprise can work though.

I tried out the latest nightly (2015/03/22) earlier today and while an initial connect works, subsequent connections can fail and lock up Settings indefinitely. So I suspect it is an edge case with Lollipop's wifi settings and certain networks, or devices.
