nothing of these will work the only thing you can do is to change the camera glass with a new one.

in the current state the phone is worse than in repaired category and this kind of damage can't be healed without repair.
Ok, then you go to next step, polishing cream for cars, its better to start with fine and then medium... Try to leave it for some hours and then with circular moves remove the cream! Good luck!

Since we don't have the extact specs of this material we have to go step by step to extinguish any abnormalities in the surface.. And of course and not kidding! This is my profession... can u tell exact tutorial of toothpaste i might be doing it wrong way
And what qualities to look in while buying the paste because i have seen some threads where toothpaste made hell lot of difference
Sent from my XT910 using Tapatalk
Baking soda and toothpaste is used for pa and pp polymers which are generally soft materials. You can find some useful info over the net. If by any chance the material used is plain glass, then it's possible to change the part of use a special resin substance to fix the damaged surface...

Did anyone try any of these solutions ?
I have succesfully removed bad scratches from camera lens with my girlfriends nail tool
There is polishing tool that i attached it to cordless drill -> Success
It took only few minutes with some stops to avoid overheat of lens.

Toothpast will be temporary, at most.
You should try what was posted above or get a "headlamp restore kit".
Basically, what you will need to do is:
-Get rid of the scratch and level the surface (with abrasiv paper)
-Get the shine back (with a compound of some sort)

I don't want a case, the phone seems relatively tough by design, gorilla glass and all. I'm concerned about the camera though. Anyone have any ideas for protection or whether it actually needs it?

Interesting - didnt know those sort of things existed.
Not sure what to do about mine - I'll monitor this thread with interest
It was my understanding that the lens cover is made of the same/similar glass that's used for the front of the phone.
The HTC Desire etc. had a plastic lens cover that was on the back cover rather than on the actual phone itself which is why something like that needed to exist.

So when I place it on the table the invisishield will take the weight & scratches

simply buy a cheap phone protector, cut it and put in to the lens. I do that on my hd2 for years and its great.
This sounds like a good idea. Does it affect picture quality through the invisishield though?

No I just did two really thin strips on the top and bottom of the lens so that it doesn't affect camera whatsoever. And on the bottom just above the speakers. Ill take a pic and post it when I have time. definitely working though. I'm at peace without needing a case.

Looks good. I'm sure I had some of this stuff lying around but predictably, I can't find it. Will definitely buy some!
I find it hard to believe that some case maker doesnt jump on this gap in the market and design a case with a simple sliding or magnetic cover over the lens... it seems simple, in my head!
Im going to try and make my own cover on a silicon case, just ordered some really thin magnetic strip and going to try to devise a simple material flap to cover the lens and fix with the magnet.. sue, it will prob look awful, but its a case of function over design for me!

Man, excellent job. My only complaint would be the fingerprints on the lcd/glass. Sadly, I'm assuming you can't wipe them off since the LCD would break, right? I'm a cell phone repair technician and I've attempted the same thing you just did and had to replace the entire assembly simply because I broke it taking it a part. Any pointers on cleaning the LCD/Digitizer without breaking it? The customers at my shop wouldn't be happy in the least about a single smudge. (I know, I know ...)
Thanks,
Rob

Hey people,
I know many have had this dilema of cleaning the white HTC One X from jeans but I have a slightly more complicated issue.
I bought a case as soon as I ordered my HOX a while back and have taken it off for the first time... only to realise that the case has left quite a fair bit of blackness on the back cover. I cannot remove it using water or a Macbook cleaning kit.
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to approach this?

I had the same problem, my Crumena leather pouch pretty much ruined the back side(and it wasn't cheap either) and nothing worked except 70% alcohol and a paper tissue. It took some rubbing. You can still see that is not 100% clean at a certain angle but it's not as bad as it used to be.

It's from a pharmacy so I'd say it's rubbing alcohol. And it expired over a year ago, but it got the job done! It's still a bit dirty around the beats audio logo but that's just because I don't wan't to ruin it so I didn't clean near that area.

Hello everyone I'm just curious but is anyone also getting this issue? I just noticed it and it happens if you're using the flash and taking pictures not up close. When you're taking pictures up close it should be fine as the light is being reflected and it appears to be normal. However, when taking pictures from lets say, at a 5 ft distance you'll notice the picture image bled out on the side (mine occurs on the right [this is towards the charger side] in landscape mode). I will upload some random pictures taken to show you what I am talking about if you don't know what I mean.
Below is what I meant from what I've said above. Two of the three pictures I've taken were random shots and the first two are the ones that bleed taken from a distance of 3-5 ft the last one was less than a ft and it turned out fine. This kind of sucks now because I won't be able to take pictures if i'm hanging out with my friends or if I want to take a good picture at a place at night etc. Anyone also getting this problem from their Sony Xperia Z5 Premium 5 or Z5?

Edit: guys i found the cutout of the oval shape instead of two circles that is causing the flash bleed. so here's the one that solved that problem, mine just arrived so here is the one I bought on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/231770639358?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2648&var=531040856782&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Same issue with camera, buy one on 'aliexpress',l will check it out when
Item arrived and let u know.
Well here it is but still unfinished. After getting all these fine lines on the lugs I just decided to give it a brushed look. Only had 220 grit sand paper at the moment just to see how she would look and I think it looks better with brushed lugs. Gonna go over it with 400 or 600 later to smoothen out the lines to make it match the sides better.

nice finishing touch it looks good ... once my lugs get some scratches I'm just gonna take them all the way and do this
Looks nice, great idea. Definitely see myself doing something similar once mine gets scratched up.
good idea. My watch rim got scratched and looks ugly now. Plan to do this to fix it.

Mine is getting all scratched up now too. Is this really stainless steel? I've had my seiko watches and gear s for 1+ year and they still look pristine.

any tip to do it perfectly?
Heads up - and old trick I have used for years is the green scotchbrite kitchen scub pads. They are less abrasive and do an AMAZING job at making or restoring a brushed steel look. NICE WORK BTW !

is there any visual tutorial to do it correctly? am afraid I killed the beauty of the watch, tia
Hey guys, I have gotten to attempt this on a Huawei watch, and it ended up pretty nice, There were a few things that I could have improved. I found that using paper tape, the medical one, can be very useful. All you have to do is cover the screen and inner rim with paper tape, along with the back glass. You can also cover up other parts that you don't want to touch. Start at a coarser sandpaper and make your way up, I used a 120 grit I believe and it wasn't too fine. Keep in mind that the finer it is the more scratch prone it is. Repeat process after it scratched up again. If you want you can add some kind of polish, but i'm not sure how that would work out.
That looks really nice! Mine's black or else I'd do that too. I put a plain leather adjustable strap on mine, because the one it came with fit my husband fine, but it's just too clunky for a woman's wrist, IMO.
