You mean it vibrated when the capactive buttons (home, menu...) were pressed?

No it used to vibrate when i pressed the screen with significant pressure... At first i thought it was a pressure sensor type of thing...

well then something was terribly wrong with it in the first place... It isn't supposed to do that.
My guess is that something is loose inside and causing a short.

Could someone tell where the vibrator is so i can look into it..

Cheek accidentally hits "hold" button while talking?

Anyone else have this problem? I have accidentally put more people on hold by mistake than I care to admit! THis should not happen, right? I know there is a proximity sensor that turns off the screen, but sometimes, the screen comes on while I am talking, then I hit it with my cheek??
Can that button be disabled? I won't ever use it.
Are you a using a shell or case that is covering the area near where it says HTC in the top left corner of the screen? If so, that is the problem. I had to drill a hole in the case I got from my TMo dealer to allow the sensor "see" my ear to turn off the screen.
Regards,
Gordo
I dont know if it can be disable, but sometime mine hits the notification bar. What you can do is to aproximate your face while in a conversation, but not hit the phone immediately, cause the sensor has a lag time to shut off the screen. After you get used it will happen less often. Fortunately my cheek is larger and hits the screen far from the mute button Cheers
never had that kind of problem, the proximity sensor is great for me...maybe when u talk u hold the sensor part away from your ear. this had happen when i use iphone for several time.

Yea, I've gotta learn how to "hold" my phone properly, lol. My screen turns on and off randomly. I'll get the hang of it.
Or, just click the power button as you're bringing the phone to your ear. Then the screen will be off.
now that is a good idea. just turn the screen off when talking. duh....ok. thanks!
and Gordo- I replied to your thread already, so you can answer me over there. Thx.
couple of times i hit redial... my dad says "hold on there's the other line" and its ME!
now i just turn the screen off

LOL.
I should do that to someone, hehe.

check if phone is in standby without switching it on by accident

ok, has anyone else noticed this problem,
sometimes i switch my phone off to save battery and it will switch itself on in my pocket so i need to check every now and then to see if it is really off, however, the only way to switch the screen on is with the power button so if my phone was really off then i have to let it start up and switch it off all over again.
i'm going to have a look for a way to remap the buttons without root as i cant get unrevoked to work and i cant be bothered to go about it the long way
hmm im not sure if this is the same issue, but sometimes the keys on my desire are on with the screen being turned off, im not sure if it happens on its own or what, not a big deal really

I noticed this, it is very annoying!
What ROM are you using? I use DeFrost 2.3 and you can bring the phone out of standby by pushing the trackball button. A second push unlocks the phone.
I dont understand this. If the phone is on, a single short press of the power button will light the screen. If it's off, it needs a long press to turn it back on - therefore it's pretty easy to tell the difference

Mine is unmodified and i'm not planning on changing that until HTC stops issuing updates. Sounds like a good feature though, bit of an oversight on the phone that.

Yes, any sort of press turns the phone on.

Careful, it may burn the LED out if you keep it constantly on.
rofl. this burn stuff is constantly floating aroung and is still crap.
why do you think, they enable the led while charging? because it is likely to burn?
who ever brought that up .......

I agree, I think the only LED to be worried about having on for long periods of time is the SUPER BRIGHT Camera Flash LED. It's obviously a different LED than the charging/notification ones, and snudel makes sense when he says that it's enabled while charging.
snudel, do you have a link for this blue LED app? I don't even think I've ever seen the blue LED on my Desire glow, but it would be neat to have it lit when the phone is "awake".
Cheers!
you can download a blue led app here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=700418&highlight=blue+led
but don't know if this is the one that snudel uses (i think not)

[Q] keep screen off during a call?

does anyone know of a way or an app to keep the screen off and stay off during a call unless i hit the button to turn the screen on? the proximity sensor sucks and at least once a week i end up muting someone with my cheek without knowing it and it ends up being the 2 of us screaming "CAN YOU HEAR ME?!??! HELLO!??!? HELLO!!??!?!" ... as a matter of fact my girlfriend has it way worse with her g2. her proximity sensor is horrible and she's always putting me on hold, mute or hanging up on them.
my ideal situation (and i will love you forever if you tell me a way or an app to do this) would be if the screen turns off and stays off when on a call, but when you hit the screen on button, it bypasses the lock screen (a totally unnecessary step when you're in a call and would have had to hit a physical button on the top of the phone itself to get the screen on) and turns the screen on, ready to do whatever it is you need to do in the middle of a call.
thanks everyone.
Yeah, hit the power button once and the screen will turn off during your call.

but won't my face going against and away from the sensor eventually make the screen turn back on at some point? i haven't specifically monitored my attempts to try that, but i'm sure i've done it before and it didn't last thru the call. or it did one time and not another or something.
Works for me.
Sent from my HTC Vision
just tried that today and as soon as you take the phone away from your face the screen comes back on (so if you moved it away for a second then back, you've got a phone with a turned on screen right up against your face)
I have the same problem. I do it all the time. Suddenly can't here someone only to realize they are on hold. I'd love some sort of solution or work around as well.

Yes exactly, when I put it to my ear. I do however, understand it is suppose to. My problem is it does not come back on. I have to go to the extreme of pulling the battery to hang up.
Thank you sorry it took so long for me to get back to you.
Almost sounds like its a bad proximity / light sensor? or maybe entering a deep sleep?
That's probably a worst case scenario tho. When your screen goes black does pressing the power button or home button fix the issue?

[Q] One V Key ring alternative, ACCEPT DECLINE dead

I have a problem with One V. The 'Ring Key' which has to be slid upwards to unlock the phone is not functioning smoothly. It takes multiple efforts to unlock, which means when a phone call comes, by the time I fiddle and unlock the call is dead.
Another problem, the Red DECLINE and Green ACCEPT buttons to decline/accept phone calls are dead.
I was till now unlocking the phone by pulling the ring upward and activating/answering the call. Now it has become difficult to answer a call.
The phone is out of warranty. Is there any software solution I can look for? I tried WidgetLocker but it does not allow you to answer a call by unlocking.

Actually, I have MyOneV RC9.5 FX+ rom and that same problem happens to me quite often (several times per day). Phone starts ringing and when I try to slide unlock ring or either green or red phone symbol, touch doesn't seem to register anything. Only thing that works is switching the screen off with power button and switching it back on. And the phone works like nothing happened.

Yes, screen has one long crack that splits it in two pieces. However, until I installed that custom rom ~3 months ago i haven't had any problems with digitizer. My screen has been cracked for almost a year now and that would be the only problem with it.

When you get a call, instead of grabbing the ring and pulling it to the phone, try grabbing the phone (green or red) and pulling it to the ring... not sure if that'll work, but then you don't have to unlock Then answer, it just answers

Nope, whole screen is dead to the touch and so is the volume rocker. Only responsive key is the shut down key. I turn of the screen and turn it back on and everything works like nothing happened. One more thing, when i listen to music, and try to change song on the lock screen widget by pressing on screen buttons, they react like i have missed them and lock ring shakes. However if i press some 5 mm above them they react like they should, almost as if the screen isn't calibrated. that didn't happen on stock rom. And yeah during calls whole screen is dead to the touch, I tried pressing above those green and red phone symbol, but lock ring doesn't shake and that would mean it doesn't register a touch. Minor things really but they can be annoying

When you don't even bother to read at least the first page of the ROM thread, it is best for you to restore to a stock ROM or try other ROM... you'll save the headache.

No headaches man, I wouldn't be using it for 3 months if i wasn't satisfied with it and satisfied I am. I did read on the latest update (from march 2013) that RC9.5 FX+ has all the previous fixes included (for example my Bluetooth works fine) so i didn't bother reading on. Anyway, my fault.

Touchscreen has no obvious damage, but the stock Android buttons stopped working a while back (I have an app which replaces) and this might be connected with the above issue.
