So I was chatting with Anker due to needing to get a replacement for a 4400mah battery that started to swell at 12 months and they offered to let me join their power user group and test their new 7200Mah battery, I received the battery in exchange for a fair review which I will be providing here and on Amazon.
I plan on doing some testing using these to drain and monitor:
1) battery drain
2) battery monitor
I also plan on seeing what kind of real life I can get out of it.
I will do several pictures of the battery and case for width compared to an OEM, and a 4400 MAH batteries as well as the size installed.
I have the seidio active with kickstand case, and I'll also compare it to the otterbox defender for the s3.
anyone else have any suggestions on what they'd like to see let me know.
it came about 50% charged so It will take a bit to fill and I have to go visit my Mother in the hospital (heart surgery) so I'll probably end up charging it overnight.
My initial impression is that the case is probably the nicest TPU case I've used, it could be somewhat difficult with a sizable case to get in and out of your pocket, but the back is polished so it doesn't grab as much but the sides are textured so it is easy to grip and I'm not concerned about having it slide out of my hand. The weight is substantial compared to a phone in a case with the standard battery, it is noticeably heavier than the 4400 mah and the siedio rugged case. It does feel as though it would survive a fall but I'm not likely to test it.
Initial charge from 15% to full took 8:52 I'm going to start Battery Drain now and see how long it lasts. It will be set to GPS on but not locked, Screen Brightness 100%, Bluetooth on, Wi=Fi on, and CPU load which seems to draw around 700-800MA/H. Comparisons are available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1843896 The Mungen 4600 was tested at nearly 6 hrs and the anker 4400 5:19
3 hours into the test, 79% this would be about where the stock battery would give up normally.
runtime screenshots since this is kind of like watching paint dry since this battery lasts so long
68% after 4:32 min
Also 10 minute intervals for the charging and discharging.
this thing is unstoppable. still going 12+ hours later
there was around 40 minutes where a missed call kicked it off of battery drain as you can see but it still has 13% left at this point.
i'm going to have to rethink how to test this battery since it is lasting so long.
I let it keep going until it died last night, so it took a while to charge up today. Just over 1% an hour in normal use, which would put it over 3 days but less than 4 on one charge.
- 24 hours in: 3 hours screentime with internet use, updating apps, and other normal use. 74 % 1.1%usage per hour.
- 48 hours in: phone rebooted at 1d 9 hrs so not everything will look correct however I have added some shots of the built in battery use so you can see the chart and the screen use
- 72 hours in: 27% not much more to say, in fact just passed 80 hours and 15% left. i'll be charging at work tomorrow probably all day but i know it's not done yet.
How is the radio signals with this battery. One of the complaints on the Zerolemon 7000 is that it seems to interfere with LTE & phone antenna signals. Great job on reviewing the battery. I liked the case comparison photos. I'm using the seidio extended case right now with a 4400. I may get this Anker 7200.

I haven't noticed any signal issues, however I live in a good area, not fringe. I did a speed test and i have a shot of the signal as well. The combo you have is the same as what I use for extended battery. This is noticably heavier but the battery life is hard to believe. to make nearly 50 hours and be at 50% is crazy.

If you are asking if it comes with nfc, no, however I have an nfc sim for isis so I believe that it still works for me.

No. Does nfc work with this battery? The nfc antenna is in the battery on our phones, the isis sim is another animal.

I don't mean any disrespect but that's not completely correct.
as the phone comes stock the NFC antenna is included in the battery. However, if you are on verizon and install the sim for isis payments you can switch to a non NFC battery and still have NFC.
In fact if you check with verizon there are plenty of verizon phones that do not natively come with NFC who, by using the NFC sim, will be able to use NFC. It is also the reason that apple hasn't bothered to include nfc in iphones as all they will need is the NFC sim and it will work and it will be magical
so yes, in the stock battery and most replacements NFC is included. in this battery it is not. which is not an issue to me on verizon as I have the NFC sim which superceeds the NFC antenna on the battery.
I just went and picked up an NFC enabled sim card from Verizon. I'm trying to use it with one of my batteries that doesn't support NFC but I'm not having any success.
Is there anything special I need to do to get this working? I'm skeptical this will enable me to use NFC without an NFC enabled battery.
I'm running CM11 official 12/27 and confirm that NFC works with my NFC enabled battery. I cannot get NFC to work with the new isis sim card and a battery that lacks NFC.
Thanks for this post, I ordered one last night from Amazon.
amazing product great performance however a tad to bulky i recently switched down from my zerolemon extended battery to carrying a standard spare and a 5star america external battery charger
its really nice. i have pix in my thread if you are interested. seems like a durable and safe case for the phone.

yeah i noticed that too.. i think 3 days battery life is overkill
i am thinking to just get extra regular battery that will fit with stock cover.
Just saying, shouldn't anyone who wants NFC buy a Hyperion or Zerolemon 7000 mAh battery instead? I am curious as if this one has any other advantages over the others besides the potential marginal gain of 200 mAh. The Hyperion is apparently the cheapest of the three at $34.99.

What is the difference between the batteries in our phone and the 9003 ? Mugen has a 1600 listed for our phones.

Oh sweet man please let me know how it goes. I am either going to do that or get the nice big fat one with the stand
I just bought a generic 3500MAH battery for the Vibrant off Amazon for $15. No regrets so far.
You can get the Momax 1700mah battery for $17 from ioomobile or $19 from ebay. Both with free shipping
I use an original vibrant battery in my i9000 too so the momax will fit the vibrant/i9003.
Please, tell me how are your results. I want to have a battery with more capacity but using the same back case.
Just waiting on its arrival now. I looked into other brands, but kept finding massive amounts of negative reviews, like the Momax battery.
Like from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=478270
I actually had the Touch HD version, which worked perfectly fine for me Which was why I had no issue buying it for the i9000. I have been getting around 40 hours from light/minimal usage on the MIUI.us rom. I am getting around 30-35 hours on the standard i9000 and vibrant batteries.
I also bought one of the cheap 3000mah ebay batteries but didn't have any luck with that. I was getting around 45-50 hours but after a few recharges it dropped to less than the original battery.
I firmly believe in "you get what you pay for" however I have to say I have not had any problems with the momax battery so far, touch wood.
Was it delivered? My battery is worse every day even with Bi-Winning v3 with Bullet kernel. It dies too quick! Using WCDMA with HSDPA is the same as seeing my battery % going down realtime.

There are a couple things you can do to stretch battery life without too much compromise.
First, go with a black background. There's a free app on the market that's easy to miss. Do a search for blackwallpaper, all one word. AMOLED screens love darker colors when it comes to battery usage.
Second, get a 2g/3g toggle and switch to 2g when you don't need data and are primarily just texting or playing games.
Pick up the Bali-X kernel. Lots of battery saving goodies in there. Afterward, pick up SetCPU and reduce the voltages as far as you can without getting crashes or "sleep of death" issues.
Now, even when gaming, my battery isn't too stressed, and when I left it off the charger overnight, after 9hrs it had burned through a miserly 4% battery.
Finally, get a retractable usb data/charging cable. Can be had for a penny plus a couple bucks shipping. Retractable means easily pocketable, so whenever it occurs to you, break it out and connect your phone into whatever PS3, TV, Computer, or Laptop is available that has a USB slot.
The battery hasn't arrived yet. Supposedly takes as much as two weeks. I'm waiting with baited breath!
Woohoo! The battery has arrived and is on the charger as I type. Will have photos and whatnot after I've gone through the initial charging and discharging.
What I can say for certain is that the I-9003 battery fits perfectly into a standard Samsung Vibrant. No issues whatsoever.
Thanks, dude, for your info! I would be going to the shop to get one if you review it positively. I think I will have the "Purchase" button under the mouse arrow!

Funny quote from the second review, "These third party batteries come in two flavors – one without an extended back cover and another one with a back cover, which usually adds a couple of inches thickness to the phone."
Could you imagine if it was a couple of INCHES of thickness? It'd be almost as thick as it is wide
Doing a battery drain test now. Had my phone's screen on nonstop for 2hr30min, and the battery is down to 84% (though probably slightly inaccurate still). Will see how it fairs after I've charged and discharged it a few times. No, not from 100% to 0%. From 100% to 20%. Don't want to kill my battery.
Day 2, barely used my phone today, and it's at 84% with 18hrs of time away from the charger. Screen on time of only 16 minutes. The battery is definitely lasting longer, so I think I can safely say that this is a legitimate 1700mah battery. The real test will be how well it works after a few weeks, though I have high hopes.
I've just ordered mine! It won't ship until august, the 8th.
How is it going with your battery? Doest it last noticeably more?
Enviado desde mi SGH-T959 usando Tapatalk

Added link to the battery and website. I feel like the 1700mah is a little conservative on their part. It feels like I'm getting more battery than the rated 200mah difference would allow. Anyway, loving the purchase, and no issues so far. Will keep everyone posted if it suddenly bursts into flames, or bakes me a pie.

Im mainly looking into Hyperion and Gorilla Gadget, Seidio is a bit expensive
i Currently can get 8-10 Hours with med-heavy usage depending on how much i game. i can probably get around 20 Hours with minimal use just texting and bare bones. im running Starskys Rom 1.5, Samurai 3.30 Ninja, NO OC/UV on VR l/0 scheduler and conservative. What would be the best battery to get out of those and is it honestly worth it?
Any suggestions are appreciated
I have been using the gorilla gadget battery for just under a year. I bought it because of the price. I still only seem to get 10 to 12 with heavy usage (work and personal phone) but with light usage I have gone 20+.
I am running CM7.
Keep in mind though it does take a nice light thin phone and bloats it. And it definitely adds some weight.
Doesn't fit in a pocket quite as comfortably as the stock battery Al though I have gotten used to it at this point.

How is it compared to the 3500 mah batteries
I've heard that the Samsung 1800 mAh battery for the Epic Touch works just as well as the generic 3000mAh batteries.
Yeah, id have to say the 3500, with the added clutter isn't worth it but that's just my opinion. The 1800 pops right in and lasts a good 14 hours with a lot of usage.
Another thing to consider is where the battery is made. My factory 1500 was china, and the samsung 1800 I ordered was from japan. The difference and quality is noticeable.

But regardless of what extended batter you get, you must also purchass the Mugen extended batter door. This is by far the best extended batter door and feels perfit in my hands, I've held them all. Fits snuggly too.

Working at Boeing 12hrs a day, 7 days a week, I use the cheapy eBay extended batteries and covers and am able to stream solidly for at least 6hrs on each battery, which also includes the standard running apps in the background...SEVEN email, WhatsApp (which means I'm texting the GF in Dubai), TiKL and then the usual Sprint background services (voicemail, Market, etc that always run). I'm OC'ed at 1500mhz w/ MultiPicture Live Wallpaper running, always gettings texts and emails throughout the day. Point is, for $12 shipped for a battery w/ cover and a seperate wall charger for just the battery, I go through two batteries a day. One get close to dying around mid day, swap w/ the battery on the charger...rinse and repeat the next day

See that's the problem i could do all that on my regular 1500 mAh battery and at the end of the day i'm drained out if not a little closer. Why have all that extra stuff run when its not needed. I highly doubt that...when I was still stock, I could kill my battery within a few hours just playing Gameloft games. I find it incredibly hard to believe that you're streaming Pandora for 6+hrs and still have plenty of battery life left. As for what is or isn't needed, those are the things I use regularily...some would consider me a power user, always running overclocked, screen on full brightness when I use it, etc...so I'm guessing you're the type who is more concerned w/ battery life instead of performance. You admit you used your phone a little bit for texts, I use mine all the time for texts, both using Handcent for friends here in the U.S. and WhatsApp for my GF in Dubai...we have different battery needs, but I can guarantee your 1500mah isn't going to last longer than my 3500mah battery, generic or not.
Alright so recently I purchased the Anker 2050mAh battery. It's compatible with the T989 (Hercules) and I727 (Skyrocket). It fits in the standard battery cover.
Like my previous Anker batteries, this one arrived with 66%. I used Juice Offender to drain it to 0%, and then fully charged it.
I later used it moderately throughout the day and it lasted about 16 hours. 4 hours on 4G and 12 on Wifi. I DON'T have screenshots though. By moderate use I mean quite a lot of texts, IMs on Facebook, checking Facebook every half hour, about 30 pictures taken in 8MP resolution (without flash), a few quick calls with Google Voice, a bit of web browsing, about 30-45 minutes of gaming, and a few YouTube videos streaming on 4G in high quality.
The next day, I used it on a full charge. The screenshots are attached. I used it moderately/heavily this time. About 3 hours on 4G and 10 on Wifi. More texts, IMs, pictures, 6-7 minutes of HD video recording, streamed more YouTube videos in high quality on 4G, an hour of gaming, some web browsing and dictionary use, and 2 very short calls. As you can see in the screenshots, my phone was awake quite a lot.
NOTE ABOUT THE SCREENSHOTS: The battery isn't at 81%. It really died, and when I put my stock battery in, the battery stats continued (which is really strange) so that's when I took the screenshots. If you look at the chart you can see it went all the way down and then a sudden rise up to 81% at the very end.
Note 2: When Wifi was on, I was using Wifi calling, so the phone signal was turned off.
Note 3: This is on rooted stock ROM + stock kernel, with almost all bloatware removed.
[url=http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0078WR4KW/]Here you can save money by buying two batteries + the universal Anker battery charger. The charger can charge almost any smartphone battery by lining up the metal contacts properly. It can take power by plugging it in a wall outlet or by a USB cable connected to a PC or wall outlet. It can also charge a phone by connecting a micro USB cable from it to the phone. So you can charge two batteries at once.
Awesome,thanks for the review!

One thing that caught my eye is that Ankor says "Keep the battery power between 5%-95%", but i like to plug in my phone/battery and just let it charge while i sleep or whatever. I wonder if my habits of just letting it charge until i unplug it will negatively effect the life of the battery.

Things become abnormal when too overly do. I suppose this is the common rule.
Some batteries may not have the "overcharge protection", and if it is not protected, battery life will be shortened. And for me, even if the battery is protected, I will still use it with care.
whoever tests this out, can you guys also use DISPLAY ON TIME and VOICE TIME if you use that. (2 main factors)
What type of usage did you get with the stock battery? At that price I may pick one up.
I'm running an aftermarket rom and tend to get that already, but I'm not too sure what stock debloated is capable of with the normal battery. it's Amazon prime too, so i might order it tonight and see how it does this weekend.

Thanks for the rude response, but that wasn't the question
The question is will that battery fit the T989. I see the original battery linked says it fits the i727 and t989, but this is listed as the i727r. I don't know the variants of the skyrocket well, if at all, so my question is will the one I linked fit our devices.

but i think with my anker as a primary, a charged oem battery as a backup, and a powerskin ready to snap on I should be ok with power... just wish there was an easy way to tune down the auto-brightness on our devices. ive seen roms with it built-in but not sure how
ORdered one thanks for this OP
Woah, nice find man! Im seriously thinking about buying a second battery now. how much is the battery percent increase? 5-10ish%?
What is the biggest battery I can get for the Sprint GNex that can stay in the stock battery cover???
I think only the original battery will stay with the stock cover. I have the official extended battery and the increase in thickness isn't really noticeable. I personally feel that it makes the device more uniform.
the biggest battery you can get with stock battery cover is 1750 mAH
I have the sprint version which comes with an 1850mah
You all are false, I have the Anker 2200mAh battery and it uses OEM battery door, as well as requires no modification what so ever. Here. You will lose NFC however.
Here is the samsung version for the GSM version which includes NFC capability!!! check it out here
I have a GSM Nexus for my daily (other one is for work) and I use this Mugen battery. Yeah it's pricey but I had eBay bucks collecting I practically go it for free. I really think it works better than the OEM Samsung battery. I can usually get easily 2 days running Franco's 217 JB kernel OC'd to 1512 or w/e it is.
I found this http://www.amazon.com/Ecell-FEIPUSI-2200MAH-CAPACITY-BATTERY/dp/B0086KT4SA
I don't know if it will work with my sprint GNex though???

I'd only use batteries that say its compatible with your phone's model number. i9250 is the GSM version.

I'd agree with xreflection. Make sure it clearly states it's for the exact model of your phone. Also, I've never heard of Ecell, nor have I ever seen a thread about an Ecell battery, therefore I'm sure it's not really a 2200mAh battery, just something rebadged as a 2200mAh battery.
I would stick to OEM, Anker, Mugen, Hyperion, Qcell and Galileo. I've had nothing but fantastic results from those companies in the past. Can anyone else add any reliable battery manufactures they've had positive results with?
I would be weary of the mAH claims of various unknown-brand batteries. The capacity of a lithium ion cells is in direct proportion to size. So if one battery is claiming to be the same dimensions as another but has an extra 200mAH then something is up. All of the batteries use the same technology so there is no magic here. Other than what little they can do on the circuit board. It mostly comes down to the fact that most people can't measure the actual capacity of the cell.
I trust the samsung extended battery and it actually improves the feel of the phone. I think that's about the best you can do.
Oherwise you're looking at really increasing the size of the phone and that's down to your personal taste. For my hands I actually prefer the bigger phone and enjoy charging it every three days with the 3800mAH whale battery.

I've also had great experience with those battery manufactures. Also, I just received a battery from Amazon called Onite (only 3500mah I could find that works with NFC and was for the GSM version). when I get the phone tomorrow, I will test her out and write again giving it a review.

I was always interested in the company Onite, especially for my Galaxy Note. I never pulled the trigger because I couldn't find anyone that had any information about their products. Please do report back on how the battery performs!

Yeah, I know. I only saw one review on Amazon and I couldn't really tell if it was real or not. But, hey for a price of $12.80 why not take a chance? Hey, if the battery explodes I will make sure to have T-Mobile phone insurance and hopefully a warranty with the phone! With my HTC Evo 4G, I bought all my batteries from eBay first but then after I discovered some overheating issues I started buying batteries from Gorillagadgets.com. Its a shame they don't have any accessories for the Gnex. With my Evo though I got as much as 3 days out of one charge with a 3500mah battery and the perfect rom and kernel combo. Hopefully I'll be able to have at least 1 1/2 with Jelly Bean. We will see tomorrow.

Hey, just a quick update! I received my phone as well as my Onite battery today (hoping it wasn't going to explode!) and I haven't even opened up the OEM battery yet! I popped in my sim and battery immediately and began setting it up. I'd say the battery was at about 55% (if I remember correctly, around there) when I received it at 5:30 and it just died about 15-20 minutes ago so it lasted around 5-5 1/2 hours (of heavy usage mind you, I was playing with it the entire time, I think I put it down once) and I hadn't even charged it yet! With my experience with extended batteries I know its good to cycle them first and let them die the whole way, then charge them up the entire way a few times to get 'em warmed up so thats what I'm doing now. I'll update again tomorrow when I use it for an entire day.

I just got my Galaxy Nexus yesterday and was also looking at an extended battery. I'm not keen on anything exploding so I'm a bit wear and looking forward to hearing about your experience.
Do you have any images of what your phone looks like with the Onite battery + cover attached?
Hey. Yeah it will be hard to determine until next week what the battery really does in regular use, because I just got my wisdom teeth removed so I'm just running on WiFi all day. I've been running it non stop since around 10 and its at 77% now so we'll see. As for the picture tbh it can't do it justice. The phone is already thin and light enough and the battery (imho) makes it feel better in my hands and adds virtually no excess weight.

Oh and by the way, I charged it overnight and it hasn't even overheated NFC works on it as well! Its a good battery for $12

The Onite battery looks very promising. Does anyone know a shop, which ships the item to Germany?
Hm I don't know a place but depending on how long you can wait aber ich komme Ende September nach deutschland und kanns mitbringen ^_^

Well guys. Its 7:35 and its been on battery for 8 hrs and I still have 12% left! This was only the 1st charge so it only gets better from here!

Oh yeah! And to comment on the back cover that comes with the Onite battery: its the same color as the gray on the back of the phone and it doesn't feel like the usual cheap covers that has the color that rubs off after normal use.

How many people use their phone so much in 1 day that actually need an extended battery for the Note 2?
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
There were days I wanted one for my original Note. But the Note 2 has held up well. Even my days of heaviest use it's made it through so far with 10% to spare.
I'm not sure I'd want to carry a massive battery for this thing. But if someone came up with a back and battery that addded 500mah and was only say 2mm thicker overall and really didn't change the fit and style I'd probably go for it.
I always wuss out if I get down to 30% and end up recharging. That might be 1 or 2 days a week. Usually hours of gaming is about the only thing that'll kill my battery in a day. But, I really couldnt see the need for an extended battery on this device for everyday use.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
Before owning this fantastic phone I started to worry when the battery indicator showed 25-30% charge. Now I smile knowing that I have at least 5 hours heavy use or about 12 hours standby remaining. If you want it to last even longer but still get email updates and social media updates get Easy Data Pro from the market. Its very good. Apart from the ugly widget that is.
It's easy to kill the battery when at a theme park, vacation, etc.. because you're not sitting next to a charger all day. Many suggest an extra battery but if you're on an extended phone call or in the middle of movie/game how do you change the battery without turning the phone off?
I don't really think being at an amusement park has anything to do with it. We're going 24 hours between charges, why would proximity to an ac adapter change things?

Sorry, guess you stare at the ground while your in line or waiting for anything. I haven't seen anyone get 24 hours screen on time but if I'm waiting most of the day somewhere than my screen is gonna be on. If you're next to an AC adapter than you can easily charge your phone right?
The last time I was at Universal Studios we got the express pass. Zero wait, and we completed the entire Harry Potter experience by 930 am. Had very little phone use the entire day, as we got to enjoy the entire park three times over.
Seperately, not a single person has ever said they have reached 24 hours of screen time. I regularly get 6+ hours tho. What we are getting is 24+ hours between charges.

Also, I would recommend an external battery. I personally use a new trent 5500mAh version. That way I can recharge the phone while on a call if ac power isnt available.

I have never been at an amusement park for 24 hours straight.
If you are on your phone 24 hours a day while on vacation, you're doing it wrong
Btw, I got almost 7 1/2 hours screen on time with 25% left... that's more than enough for me. My screenshots are in the thread for battery life.
That being said, I would rather have an extra regular battery and keep the phone thin, than have a thick phone and try to find a good looking case for it.
I'm actually curious about the extended side project for my classic romo. I want to run my romo and my gs2 on one of the 6500mah batteries for the note two. I hope they aren't crap, I'll probably get one after I get paid on the first, but won't be able to actually have anything to compare it to. I may drop it in my note just to see if it works with the bumper actually, but I have never needed to worry about battery charge. I have gone out on off nights with less than 30% battery life and been home hours later before getting a low battery warning.
I'm new to the Note II, actually it's in the mail. I'm a heavy extended battery user on every device I usually own. As the note II is new, I spent a few days looking at power.
My guess is in most cases it should last at least all day even with heavy use. None of us are usually very far from our chargers or spare batteries.
What I did do, is order this one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/390499613512?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 I'll try this one as a primary and keep the stock battery as a backup.
If it's really 3960 or 3100 who knows, but if it is 3960 then it should be more than enough for a full day of about anything.
I also looked at extended batteries requiring new backs. The thinnest one I could find, was 3-4mm at 6500 mah.
http://www.wirelessground.com/samsu...gclid=CKTgstTI5LMCFQY5nAodnRkAtQ#.UK9CTIbp5yN
It took a lot of reading on all this, got the Motorola 2 amp car charger and so on, but power was an issue I looked at close for the note II.
Power doesn't seem to be issue from everything I have read, but it makes sense to know what power options are out there and if you need a backup battery anyway, get one with 860 more Mah. if you can.

Here's what I found. Looks like you're right, it's 3100.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2001123
How they get away with this is crazy, but at least people are catching it sooner than later.
if you are looking for an extended battery I would be patient and wait for powerskin to announce or shoot down if they are gonna make a case for this phone. Those who don't know powerskin is exactly what it sounds like its a case with a battery built into it. They made one for the GS2(TMO) and GS3 with the wild popularity of Note2 and it being on all four carriers it should be a slam dunk. The best part is they don't add much gerth to the other phones...
I ended up getting an 8500mAh battery off of eBay from this seller:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/8500mAh-Ext...-Samsung-N7100-Galaxy-Note-II-2-/170933592938
I've had it for several days now and am really happy with it. At first I was just going to use it as a backup for going on trips and such but now I think I will use it as my main battery. The back it comes with actually has a sort of faux metallic look to it and fits in really well with the phone. It doesn't look at all cheap like some of the other battery doors I looked at on the 6500 mAh ones.
I've had the phone running for nearly for days straight with some heavy use includs hours of calls and gaming until I finally needed to charge it.

Man, how much thicker/heavier does that make the phone? The main reason this phone isn't "too big" is because of its weight and how thin it is.
I got into the habit of using Mophie Juice packs on iPhones back in the day, and did extended batteries with large battery covers on my Nexus One and HTC Blunderbolt, but with most Androids I just pick up a spare battery and keep it in my wallet. They're thin enough to fit that way. With the newer Samsungs, a spare battery has been a waste of money; my Galaxy S3's spare is still in it's shrinkwrap months after purchase.

It's probably about twice as thick in the biggest part and it is a bit heavier, but the battery door is curved and tapers over to the battery part so it's not twice as thick on the whole thing, just the battery part, but it also doesn't abruptly pop out a square, it's tapered. I think it looks decent and not boxy at all.
I was concerned myself before getting it but I don't really mind the extra bulk and weight considering how much more battery life I get out of it.
I don't think I've seen any other phone have an 8500 mAh battery and considering that I personally don't think it adds too much extra bulk. Of course that's a YMMV sort of thing.
I'll see if I can grab another phone and post a picture of it later.

I'm just curious how accurate the capacity is. I have become very dubious that these odd/no name batteries have the capacity they say they do. For almost a third of the price you can get the 6500s as well.
I honestly can't speak to the accuracy of this 8500 mAh vs the 6500 ones being sold since I haven't tested the 6500 ones. I know it sounds trivial, but I do like the look of the 8500's door vs (the pictures) of the ones for the 6500 batteries.
Anyhow, here is a picture of the 8500 battery with the door on.
I see no need for any larger batteries. The stock one gives me well over a day. But to each their own.

Thanks for both of your replies. I agree, that's a fine looking case, and 8500 mAh battery is almost drool-worthy.
