Ive looked around abit and the reviews are mixed for all batteries.
I was wondering your guys honest opinion on a few ive looked at.
3500 mAh Gorilla Gadget: http://gorillagadgets.com/samsung-epic-4g-extended-battery-3500mah-with-back-plate.html
Hyperion 3500 mAh: http://www.amazon.com/Hyperion-Sams...4JFS/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1324412744&sr=8-6
Seidio Innocell 3300 mAh: http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-Innoce...8EYM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1324412744&sr=8-3
Im mainly looking into Hyperion and Gorilla Gadget, Seidio is a bit expensive
i Currently can get 8-10 Hours with med-heavy usage depending on how much i game. i can probably get around 20 Hours with minimal use just texting and bare bones. im running Starskys Rom 1.5, Samurai 3.30 Ninja, NO OC/UV on VR l/0 scheduler and conservative. What would be the best battery to get out of those and is it honestly worth it?
Any suggestions are appreciated
I have been using the gorilla gadget battery for just under a year. I bought it because of the price. I still only seem to get 10 to 12 with heavy usage (work and personal phone) but with light usage I have gone 20+.
I am running CM7.
Keep in mind though it does take a nice light thin phone and bloats it. And it definitely adds some weight.
Doesn't fit in a pocket quite as comfortably as the stock battery Al though I have gotten used to it at this point.

How is it compared to the 3500 mah batteries
I've heard that the Samsung 1800 mAh battery for the Epic Touch works just as well as the generic 3000mAh batteries.
Yeah, id have to say the 3500, with the added clutter isn't worth it but that's just my opinion. The 1800 pops right in and lasts a good 14 hours with a lot of usage.
Another thing to consider is where the battery is made. My factory 1500 was china, and the samsung 1800 I ordered was from japan. The difference and quality is noticeable.

Here's the best option. The Seidio 3300 battery. This is the new version and uses all japanese cells, high quality.
But regardless of what extended batter you get, you must also purchass the Mugen extended batter door. This is by far the best extended batter door and feels perfit in my hands, I've held them all. Fits snuggly too.

Ok but is the seidio any good i mean compare that to the 3200 or 3500 mah mugen power one. i mean i already bought the gorilla gadget one ill be getting this tomorrow and see how good is i mean i didn't go wrong paying only 26.99 for it.
And does anybody know anything about the Hyperion battery?
If anyone has some suggestions how about mugen power batteries compared to OEM?

I got a pair of 8$ 3500's with a "3 year warranty" off ebay, that came with extended backs and a 4$ cradle charger for the second battery.
I get 24+ hours out of the phone and can game endlessly by swapping batteries if needed.
also the big battery feels great in the hands.

Working at Boeing 12hrs a day, 7 days a week, I use the cheapy eBay extended batteries and covers and am able to stream solidly for at least 6hrs on each battery, which also includes the standard running apps in the background...SEVEN email, WhatsApp (which means I'm texting the GF in Dubai), TiKL and then the usual Sprint background services (voicemail, Market, etc that always run). I'm OC'ed at 1500mhz w/ MultiPicture Live Wallpaper running, always gettings texts and emails throughout the day. Point is, for $12 shipped for a battery w/ cover and a seperate wall charger for just the battery, I go through two batteries a day. One get close to dying around mid day, swap w/ the battery on the charger...rinse and repeat the next day

See that's the problem i could do all that on my regular 1500 mAh battery and at the end of the day i'm drained out if not a little closer. Why have all that extra stuff run when its not needed. I mean i used my phone for a little bit like texts and a few calls last week my battery was at 75% with 12Hrs and that was regular battery 1500 mAh. I'm hoping to get better results with this 3500 mAh one

I highly doubt that...when I was still stock, I could kill my battery within a few hours just playing Gameloft games. I find it incredibly hard to believe that you're streaming Pandora for 6+hrs and still have plenty of battery life left. As for what is or isn't needed, those are the things I use regularily...some would consider me a power user, always running overclocked, screen on full brightness when I use it, etc...so I'm guessing you're the type who is more concerned w/ battery life instead of performance. You admit you used your phone a little bit for texts, I use mine all the time for texts, both using Handcent for friends here in the U.S. and WhatsApp for my GF in Dubai...we have different battery needs, but I can guarantee your 1500mah isn't going to last longer than my 3500mah battery, generic or not.

I got the battery, I didn't notice a huge difference but I haven't tracked it at all.
They're are lying to you. basically any battery that's the same size as the stock battery is going to have the same amount of power as the stock battery. The only way to get extra juice is to add extra bulk. However, Seidio makes batteries that don't add extra bulk. Those are rated at 1750 mah. While I still you won't get much more battery life out of these, there at least a reputable company you can trust.
Andida is suppose to be better than a no-name battery. It is a name brand, just a cheaper name-brand and known in China. I bought their 2000mah battery and it seems to be about as good as the stock 1500mah. Then, i found that BatteryBoss tested the Andida 2000mah and it actually tested to be worse than the stock 1500mah Evo battery. I wouldnt want you to waste your money. I guess Seidio would be the only option because Mugen didnt do to good either at BatteryBoss. Sucks too, because they are so expensive, but if you MUST keep the factory battery door and want more juice than thats about your only option. I bought the 3000mah ebay battery with extended battery door and it is just awesome!! Yes, it is bigger. But, its actually VERY nice and looks and feels good with the bigger cover. Oh, and it is hard to kill . I turned on every radio and streamed music over wifi to bluetooth speakers for hours last night trying to run it down and only lost about 7% in the 2 hour span of doing this....
I tried the Andida 2000 and was not better then the OEM battery. Also have the extended 3500 from ebay(10.00) and works well, go a whole day+ with wifi, gps, sync on with mild to moderate use. Switch off and on with the oem and extended.
The 2000mah battery is garbage doesnt last longer than oem bat like others have said. I bought a 1800mah battery from ebay. its been over 24hrs and Im at 22% after 2hrs of calls, 30 txts, 1hr web browsing, & 1hr of pandora, bt is on all day too! I highly recommend, here's the link
http://cgi.ebay.com/2x1800mAh-Battery-Dock-Charger-Sprint-HTC-Evo-4G-/250661324218?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3a5c9445ba#ht_3914wt_807
The andida 2000 I purchased was a good battery but I guess I was one of the lucky ones. I currently have a 3500mah battery. I see that there are also 2000mah galiliO batteries now available. I was thinking of getting one and comparing it to the stock battery and the andida 2000. I don't know if the galilieO batteries are 2000mah or just the re-labeled 1800mah batteries that are all over ebay.
@snowplow
you say the only way to add more juice is by adding bulk, but then in the next sentence say seidio is able to do it without adding bulk? not really making sense there! seidios battery i believe tested to be in the 1400s, below the OEM.

Just bought 2 for $16 with a charger... So I'll let you know. Can't see myself being uber angry if it is the same as stock, as having a few spare batteries for mere pittance is great. Gotta love that eBay...
Galilio 2000mah. We'll see.
I actually got the Galileo batteries as well, so far, I'm seeing a little better than usual battery life. which makes me optimistic, considering you don't see the true potential until a few charge cycles, I just got them yesterday.
If you guys are running after market batteries here's a tip.
I have been running my Sedio 1800 mah (I know tested only comes to 1500) and lately my phone has been powering off on it's own. It happened to at the same time as I was running various gingerbread roms so I thought it had something to do with that. After some experimentation I realized that it was happening when I dropped my phone on the desk(ohh, yes I have a tpu case on the phone). I thought great, its a hardware issue and I don't have a warranty. Then after a long day streaming and lots of phone calls I needed to swap batteries and I installed my stock battery. I then noticed that my power off issues went away. I dropped the phone on the desktop 10 more times and no issues. So apparently the Sedio battery doesn't fit quite right in the phone, so wedged some paper at the top of the battery to try to give a little more pressure on the battery pins and that seems to have solved the issue.
the galilios are good batteries for the price, but i believe them to be closer to 1300mah based on my results vs stock.

Just got a "Galilio" 2000mah yesterday. I'll be seeing how it works out over the next few days and report back. It is blatantly for a TP2 but fits VERY snugly in the EVO, (almost too snugly) and is a pain to get in and out. I have to use the corner of my back cover to pry it out...but if it gives me more battery I'll be taking it out less...

I have the exact same thing!. I actually had to rake a razor to one of them and Shane off a little bit of plastic from the top of the battery. Just a tiny bit. Fits perfect now.
There's already a discussion regarding this battery and others at this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=925298
That thread is more current than this one that started in Sept '10. Should we use that thread instead of keeping 2 very similar ones? Just a thought.
I have the Andida battery- worked great for a few weeks. Then I started to notice it would lose its charge fast. But this battery stated it was for the TP2- either way it fits the Evo. But when I had it on my TP2- it would hold a good charge.
I love the ebay 3500 batteries- great and still holding a charge (had it for almost a year). I use this one I am going on a long trip or Army training.
I have two of the Galilio 2000mah batteries- made for the TP2- no need to shave any crap- fits perfectly on my Evo. I measured both the OEM and the Galilio batteries- no difference. The Galilio is worth my $9- and I want that OEM look- I also ordered a white OEM Htc back cover. Read somewhere here in XDA- charge your batteries atleast once on a wallcharger- not usb. I find the batteries last longer.
Note, i did buy a generic 2000mah (non Galilio brand)- that was crap.
I have (2) 3500 mAh batteries, (1) 3000 mAh battery, (2) Galilio 2000 mAh batteries, (1) 1750 mAh Seidio battery... and others.
I just saw a seidio 3500mah for $43 plus 5.99 shipping about $50 but the sprint extended battery is $49.99 also just want to know ,your opinion which one is my best choice ,who has a sprint extended battery and who has a seidio please help.
Is the Sprint battery 3500mAh? I thought it was less.
I have the seidio battery and have used it the most of the other batteries I have. Its good and last longer than stock as expected. I don't think you will see any real-world difference between 3200 and 3500mAh.
Really you need to decide which back panel you like better. At first first I hated seidio's, but it grew on me and that boxy back plate actually helps me to hold the phone better. Its weird, but how often do you look at the back of the phone??
Funny enough, I'm back to trying out the stock battery....
Edit: Sprint also includes a white back panel with their battery, if that make any difference.
Neither. Those extended batteries are a rip off and they make your phone bulky as hell. Completely defeats the sleek aesthetic of the EVO. Do yourself a favor, buy these batteries. They last a little longer than stock, you get two of them and a dock charger for $17 with free shipping. Just keep a charged spare with you and swap it out when you need to. So much nicer than having to lug a bulky evo around.

Personally, I'd rather not worry about carrying another battery around when I need extra life. A naked phone with the seidio battery is just as thick a regular phone with a medium sized case, probably less bulky. And I don't use cases.
I go through phases. Right now I'm in max power-save mode with stock batteries; waiting for those Chinese batteries to come in. When I fell like OC'ing for performance, I'll switch to the extended and not worry. Totally worth the costs for me. To each their own.
Carrying a spare stock battery is my suggestion.
Why create bulk on such a sleek device
The Evo stock battery is so flat, you can slip it in anywhere.
You do realize some people care more about function rather then looks.
You can have both with a spare
Personally, I don't give up function by carrying a spare. In addition, with the standard battery, the phone slips right into my pocket without any discomfort.
I don't know if the the OP keeps his Evo in his pocket, but this also may be something to consider.
I have two of the Chinese battery they probably give me a few min more than stock,I have tried kernels to make my battery last, but is just not working ,I see guys w extended battery say they get 20+hrs I cam barely make 6w moderate use on stock and Chinese like 6 1/2hrs.....
I don't have a problem with storing the EVO with monster battery in my pocket. For anyone that carries a spare: do you throw battery management out the window? Because I can keep all of the radios on, OC to 1.19GHz, screen brightness way up, live wallpaper, hotspot, etc, and not be concerned about the battery. It is totally worth the thicker form-factor for me and the OP.
OP, either battery should be about the same. The seidio is the only one that has a case that fits. If that doesn't matter, pick the one with the back plate you like the most.
From my EVO when I should probably be doing something else instead.

sprint is 2600mah ... for me it run for 20 hrs with 30% still left, have 2 emails sync every hour and exchange as items arrive, handcent sms, facebook once in a while, phandroid and some other stuff.
Not sure about Sprint's battery, but I personally have the Seidio 3500mAh and I love it! I had a Seidio 3200mAh on my previous Sprint Mogul phone and that **** lasted 4 days of moderate usage while roaming in a different state!
With the Seidio 3500mAh, I use it about 14hrs a day constantly with heavy usage (20% text, 40% internet, 20% talk, 20% games) and usually end up with 40-60% battery life left at the end of the night consistantly (using Myn's RSL5 rom and Netarchy 4.2.3 SBC kernel).
It also helps to use a SBC kernel, at least in my case. Noticed a big difference, but YMMV.
Hope this helps.

I've been using the 3500mh Seidio battery for several months now and I would never go back to the stock battery. It's just so nice to use the phone heavily all day and not have to worry about having enough juice to last a full day. Now that I'm using Roms and setcpu and other programs which improve battery life, this thing lasts forever.
As a side note, I was in the Sprint store just last week comparing the size of the Sprint 2600mh battery to the 3500mh Seidio and they're literally almost identical in size. The seidio is just a tiny smidge thicker. In fact I tried to fit the Sprint backplate over the seidio battery and it almost fit perfectly.
Point is, if you're going to get either one, and they're basically the same size, why not get the one with 35% more capacity? No brainer to me.

3500 seidio. I thought the rounded cover of the mugen would be good, but I didn't like it; I felt I was going to drop the phone every time I held it.
But right now I'm trying out the stock size again to see if it works for my daily usage. And I felt like using a case for a while.

I just got my 3500 Seidio battery from Ebay & am having trouble draining the battery. I love having this issue, lol. I went 24hrs without a charge & with heavy usage. Now I have about 9% battery left. The stock battery would have died in 5hrs.

I got 3 days on a 1750 battery from BB that is the same size as the stock battery.
all depends on what you setup to do what.
also, the extended batteries do make your phone huge. At least to me it seems huge. Then again. I am from the iphone, and every iphone, specially the iphone 4, makes the evo look fat as it is.

the temp is in the same ranges as my stock battery, if not slightly cooler to be honest. My phone would feel hot say while charging with the stock battery, my phone stays cool when charging with the seido battery.
as for build quality, it seems just fine, except the cover around the battery is a little loose, cannot say for sure if it is this battery as a whole or just mine, but it doesn't seem to cause any problems other than my OCD kicks in when I have to pull the battery out haha.
I got my eBay China 3500 mah battery 2 week ago and I love it. Problem is it took 2 months to get here since it came straight from China. But, hey it only cost $7 so I cant complain. My phone can finally last a full day under heavy use. Heavy as in constant YouTube and web browsing. Plus wifi, 4G and gps stays on all day. I plan to order another 7 dollar battery for backup.
I ordered a two pack, 2 batteries and two backs w/ external charger. There are two evo's in the house that use them and both work wonderful. I use mine all day under heavy use, mainly bluetooth music streming to my vehicle. I can go a day and half maybe, but I charge every night. My wife can use hers for three days with light use, facebook and crap. I spent $18 including shipping and the phone feels much better in hand, I prefer the extra heft. Here are a few pictures next to an american quarter for size (too lazy to grab other phone and swap batteries).
Hope this helps. It is very cheap, you should just do it, if you don't like it sell 'em on craigslist.

What is the difference between the batteries in our phone and the 9003 ? Mugen has a 1600 listed for our phones.
Let us know if it fits . Thanks .
Oh sweet man please let me know how it goes. I am either going to do that or get the nice big fat one with the stand
I just bought a generic 3500MAH battery for the Vibrant off Amazon for $15. No regrets so far.
You can get the Momax 1700mah battery for $17 from ioomobile or $19 from ebay. Both with free shipping
I use an original vibrant battery in my i9000 too so the momax will fit the vibrant/i9003.
Please, tell me how are your results. I want to have a battery with more capacity but using the same back case.
Just waiting on its arrival now. I looked into other brands, but kept finding massive amounts of negative reviews, like the Momax battery.

I actually had the Touch HD version, which worked perfectly fine for me Which was why I had no issue buying it for the i9000. I have been getting around 40 hours from light/minimal usage on the MIUI.us rom. I am getting around 30-35 hours on the standard i9000 and vibrant batteries.
I also bought one of the cheap 3000mah ebay batteries but didn't have any luck with that. I was getting around 45-50 hours but after a few recharges it dropped to less than the original battery.
I firmly believe in "you get what you pay for" however I have to say I have not had any problems with the momax battery so far, touch wood.
Was it delivered? My battery is worse every day even with Bi-Winning v3 with Bullet kernel. It dies too quick! Using WCDMA with HSDPA is the same as seeing my battery % going down realtime.

There are a couple things you can do to stretch battery life without too much compromise.
First, go with a black background. There's a free app on the market that's easy to miss. Do a search for blackwallpaper, all one word. AMOLED screens love darker colors when it comes to battery usage.
Second, get a 2g/3g toggle and switch to 2g when you don't need data and are primarily just texting or playing games.
Pick up the Bali-X kernel. Lots of battery saving goodies in there. Afterward, pick up SetCPU and reduce the voltages as far as you can without getting crashes or "sleep of death" issues.
Now, even when gaming, my battery isn't too stressed, and when I left it off the charger overnight, after 9hrs it had burned through a miserly 4% battery.
Finally, get a retractable usb data/charging cable. Can be had for a penny plus a couple bucks shipping. Retractable means easily pocketable, so whenever it occurs to you, break it out and connect your phone into whatever PS3, TV, Computer, or Laptop is available that has a USB slot.
The battery hasn't arrived yet. Supposedly takes as much as two weeks. I'm waiting with baited breath!
Woohoo! The battery has arrived and is on the charger as I type. Will have photos and whatnot after I've gone through the initial charging and discharging.
What I can say for certain is that the I-9003 battery fits perfectly into a standard Samsung Vibrant. No issues whatsoever.
Thanks, dude, for your info! I would be going to the shop to get one if you review it positively. I think I will have the "Purchase" button under the mouse arrow!

Funny quote from the second review, "These third party batteries come in two flavors – one without an extended back cover and another one with a back cover, which usually adds a couple of inches thickness to the phone."
Could you imagine if it was a couple of INCHES of thickness? It'd be almost as thick as it is wide
Doing a battery drain test now. Had my phone's screen on nonstop for 2hr30min, and the battery is down to 84% (though probably slightly inaccurate still). Will see how it fairs after I've charged and discharged it a few times. No, not from 100% to 0%. From 100% to 20%. Don't want to kill my battery.
Day 2, barely used my phone today, and it's at 84% with 18hrs of time away from the charger. Screen on time of only 16 minutes. The battery is definitely lasting longer, so I think I can safely say that this is a legitimate 1700mah battery. The real test will be how well it works after a few weeks, though I have high hopes.
I've just ordered mine! It won't ship until august, the 8th.
How is it going with your battery? Doest it last noticeably more?

Just lasted over 48hrs on one charge with light use. Mostly texting and some very brief gaming and market updates. Wifi and bluetooth were on the entire time. I'm definitely seeing a noticeable improvement in battery life.

Added link to the battery and website. I feel like the 1700mah is a little conservative on their part. It feels like I'm getting more battery than the rated 200mah difference would allow. Anyway, loving the purchase, and no issues so far. Will keep everyone posted if it suddenly bursts into flames, or bakes me a pie.

Thanks for posting your results.
I've been having trouble getting my battery to last more than 24 hours. :/
Though the latest releases of CM7 seem to be the problem. I was getting 24 hours easily with other roms..
So this 1700mah battery fits in the vibrant with the original back cover?

Yep! Using the original that came with my Vibrant. Fits perfectly.
I was hoping some of the members, devs, and anyone else who uses their phone very heavily like myself could make some recommendations on a replacement battery, possibly an extended battery. I feel like I spend half of the day on the charger cause I use this phone for everything. I am looking to get better overall time off of the charger. I don't have too much cash I can spend but need to do something to get longer life. I've seen several aftermarkets but wanted to know what, if any, experiences people have had with some of these. Thanks for the responses and for your input making my choice.

I LOVE the Chichitec 1900 mah batteries. They give me great battery life and they fit with the original back cover. Look em up on amazon
I have the 3500 battery too, but it didn't give me THAT much better life and they make my phone really bulky.
I just bought three cheap 1500s from Ebay and switch them out. I never have to swap more than once a day, and I consider myself a heavy user. I don't think it's worth spending more than $30 on unless you have the extra cash. I spent $11 and it came with a charger so I could charge them externally. They're definitely cheap, but I've had them a while and never had any issues with them.

Chichitec 1900 mah was what I did, 2 batteries and a charger on amazon 36 dollars. Since I'm keeping my EVO4G for another year I thought it was worth it.
I got the seidio 3500 and I love it.
I've had my phone off the charger for 14hrs and had the screen on for 6hrs today. Wifi for 9 hr's and 3g for 4hrs. And I live in a terrible signal area - my battery is at 30%.
I love the feel of the phone with this battery and the added weight. Its a win for me.

On android police, they have a section for different batteries. The writers favorite was two 3500 mah batteries plus back for $22 on ebay
