The entire reason I bought my Kindle Fire is to have a mini-laptop at an affordable price. I wanted to take notes with it using a external keyboard but was too ignorant to look-up and discover that it didn't support one. I have been looking into rooting my Kindle but it is simply over my head and fear with so many comments and questions about people bricking there Kindle, etc.
My only purpose it to get my Kindle to support my keyboard. The Kindle is more-or-less worthless to me for all other purposes. I use it for a calendar, email (read), and reader (though I prefer to read on my Kindle Keyboard).
I have the HDE 7" Tablet Stand with USB Keyboard - Black Faux Leather Carrying Case and a USB 2.0 A to Micro B Female / Male Adapter.
What is the most simple and safest way to get this working on my Kindle.
I am a novice. I attend, at this moment, to do no other tinkering at all. It may even be nice to keep the same look of the Kindle if this is possible.
Thank you so much ahead of time for your help!!!
If you search " kindle fire USB keyboard" you will find at least 2 threads that discuss this. Off the top of my head, there is a specific USB adapter that you are missing. Get that, and your typing.

If you install GedeROM, which supports USB OTG, you can get a special host cable that let's you plug in USB devices to your Kindle Fire. That would mean you can plug in a keyboard as well.
Ii have attached a keyboard to my kindle with an otg cable and it works. If you have windows 7 then I think you should go ahead and flash a bootloader ,a rom,and recovery using kfu. Because their are usually no problems with kindle fire utility on win 7.
the micro USB port in my kindle fire has stopped working as it should, i can't connect to a pc or charge. I also live outside the US, so i can't return it to amazon :/ is there any way i can fix it?
Although Kindle Fire HD 8.9" has a separated mini-hdmi port, I am curious to know if it supports video output from its usb port. I have one usb2vga (usb2hdmi) adapter and if it is not absolutely necessary, I don't want to buy a minihdmi2vga adapter. I wonder if anybody tried.
My kindle fire seems to have trouble charging lately, i have tried various different types of charges but they all fail. I thought it was a sign that this old Tablet has run it's course but i have realized it has no problem charging via USB...is there still hope for my tablet?

Does a usb to wall adapter work? Use that if it does.
My Kindle Fire HD 10 (2017) won't fully charge. I am using the usb cord and plug adapter that came with it. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thank you!
