[Q] Nexus Restarting at loading screen - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

MY nexus restart itself on Andorid logo. Sometimes i can get to load but it hangs and restart. Cant take out the photos.
Can you somebody help me ?
I can reach recovery menu. I tried to wipe the cache but still the same.
run adb and getting error:
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted
using stock firmware 4.3 maguro GSM from google website

Try to do a factory reset in the recovery. Your apps and your app-date will be gone after that. Your pictures and other data on the "sdcard" won't be lost.
Make a backup before trying that.

nexus 3 has internal memory so cant take out the photos. i dont want to wipe data and factory reset becouse i loose photos. any more suggestion ?

[Q] Why doesn't hard-reset work?

Hi,
For example, on my galaxy s2, i pictures, movies, apps and whenever i did a hard-reset everything was deleted.
But on galaxy nexus the only thing i notice gets deleted is the apps i install, so the pictures are still there, and the files i create are also still there. I've also tried with a full wipe tool, but still they're there.
Is there something wrong with my phone, or there's no hard-reset like the s2?
I have Android revulotion HD rom with Original stock kernel.

Ive actually noticed this myself the last time I "wiped" my device and found the same thing. Pics, etc were all still there even though it put me through the steps for setting up my phone again as it did when I first got it.
Why IS this happening?

I know, but is this a bug, or is there another option for erasing everything on the sd beside doing it from the pc?
thanks
If you factory reset from the settings menu it is supposed to be a full wipe. If you factory reset from recovery it does not wipe the SD card.

I was having this terrible experience while I was trying to do a factory reset before flashing a new build from AOKP. Nothing was deleted, and I tried like 3 times : Factory Reset in Android, Wipe Data in Recovery, etc...nothing changed.
Finally, I flashed back the stock rom 4.0.2 from Google and did a factory reset and it worked, everything was erased including pics, musics, apps, etc.
So obviously it's a bug. You can ONLY do a factory reset in stock rom (ics) but not in a custom rom (AOKP or Android HD, ...).
Hope it helps.

Sorry I didn't make it clear. I understand that Wipe Data in Recovery will leave things untouched in sdcard.

If you're meaning me, then if you also would read, then you would understand, that i was saying factory reset, AND recovery mode wipe, so i mean, i tried everything i could. But heo_con184 explained everything for me now, and now i know it's the ROM 4.03 that can't do this.
thanks
I've got an similar problem, but in my case "wipe data/ factory reset" from recovery mode doesn't delete anything. When I choose "wipe data/ factory reset" in recovery and then choose to reboot after it tells me it finished deleting, it just boots like nothing has changed. It doesn't aks me to setup my phone (Galaxy Nexus). I also tried to wipe the cash in recovery. I also tried "fastboot oem unlock" which should delete data as an side-affect (for security-reasons). I tried CWM (ClockWorkMod recovery) to do a wipe of cash, dalvik-chache and a reset with CWM. But after all this affords every time I boot my device it shows the home-screen with all the app-logos arranged in exactly the same positions as I have arranged them (not the default positions and I'm not asked to go through setup). After showing me the homescreen for a few seconds, it reboots (thats the reason why I want to do a reset).
Has anybody an Idea how I could get my phone to work again?
Maybe flashing the OS (https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images)?
The strange thing is that I have never modified the OS. I have always only used the automativ OTA updates.

Have you tried wiping internal storage ? Wiping data wipes installed apps , your info like email and just returns you to a state of re-setting up the rom . I would think you'd need to also wipe internal storage where pics , music , downloads , nandroids etc and everything else is stored . I'm not saying it's not a bug , just asking if anyone having the issue has tried that from recovery .
One more thing to the guy who wanted to wipe everything to install a custom rom . There's absolutely no need to wipe internal storage to flash a rom . If you were installing a new version of windows would you delete all the drives where your pictures and everything else you've ever collected just to put windows on c drive ? Absolutely no you wouldn't . This is about the same thing .Wiping system , data , cache and dalvik is all you ever need to do going from kitkat to Lollipop or anywhere else . NO NEED . Recovery's and custom roms are set up like that to protect the people who might accidently wipe all their treasured stuff from storage and then crying for days at the loss .

[Q] How to pull files from Boot looping Galaxy Nexus?

Hello,
My Galaxy Nexus went in to a boot loop for some reason on it's own, it's been working fine for the last few months (I'm on AOKP b24) but today during the middle of the day it just rebooted and then went in to a boot loop. No matter what I do, I can't get it to boot up without hard wiping it. I've pulled the battery for a while, charged it up etc but it's still stuck in the boot loop.
I can still get in to CWM, so that's the good news.
The BAD NEWS is that I don't know how pull my Titianium Backup files from the phone. I'm trying to use the Galaxy Nexus Toolkit, but when I go to option 15 to pull the files, it asks me if I'm running a custom ROM. I answer yes and then it asks me for a path. I've tried entering these: /sdcard, /sdcard/, /mnt/sdcard/titaniumbackup, /mnt/sdcard/titaniumbackup/ etc. but no matter what I enter, it gives me an error saying I'm not running an insecure boot image.
How can I pull down my nandroid backups from the phone so that I can wipe it and then get my data back? Please help..
have you tried clearing the cache partition and delvik cache? lots of bootloops can be fixed by just doing this.
if you have a nandroid backup theres no need to wipe anything before doing the restore.
Nandroid's won't restore? The correct path is: /sdcard/TitaniumBackup/ but if the toolkit is giving you no love I'd try it via adb.
adb pull /sdcard/TitaniumBackup/
For nandroids: adb pull /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/
BUT
If you do a wipe data/factory reset your backup folders aren't lost, so a completely fresh ROM install won't affect your existing b/u's as long as you don't format your sd card.

Yep, tried wiping cache and dalvik a few times, no dice. I also tried a nandroid restore from CWM but it errors out and doesn't restore..

Thank you. I managed to get the files pulled, just had to manually kill adb and restart it and then I could pull the files.
Now I have also done a factory reset through CWM and the flashed the same ROM again, it's still in a boot loop!!
I'm at a complete loss.. what else can I try?
Could a part of the internal memory be corrupted or something like that?
was the phone a yakju build? if so you can use fastboot or the toolkit to flash them, this will flash the stock bootloader, recovery, kernel and system image.

Thanks, that's exactly what I just did and it worked. No more bootloop! Phone booted up and I'm now in process of flashing my old rom and then hopefully restoring the nandroid.
I have no idea what caused all this after months of stable operation, but at least the phone is alive now..
Thanks all!

Install the Galaxy nexus Toolkit (search for this on xda), then get it connected to your phone by following instructions in the tool.
Then select the option to pull files and give it the right path, which should be \sdcard\DCIM\Camera\.
This will pull the files to your computer where the Toolkit is installed.
Hope this helps!

For some reason while reading about toolkit last night I gathered that it wouldn't work.. Perhaps I was wrong so this morning went ahead and did a reset to factory :-/
Thanks for the suggestions - I will definitely look into it if it occurs again. If it does, I will be posting a video on YouTube of burning it down

[Q] CWM wipe does not work?

Hi you guys. Im have a bit of trouble whit the CWM. Im stuck in a kind of bootloop after updating to latest CM10. It boots up and i can access my homscreen for like 6-7 sec, but then it reboots to bootscreen.
So i thought i have to wipe my data, get it back to factory state. So i do that, wipes cache to. I have even tried the Mount and storage > format /system /cache and /data.
But when i re-install my rom allmy apps, wallpaper and that, are all where i put them. I can even mange to open some of the apps whitin the 6-7 sec window i have before the phone will reboot. The CWM says it done all things right. No error messages at any time ...
Any one whit an idea to get this back on track ?

are you wiping data(factory reset) or are you just wiping your dalvik and cache?

OK do what simms22 has explained. That should work.
But from what I am interpreting is that you are doing cache not wipe. So you go to "wipe data/factory reset" menu and hit/press yes. It should wipe it and done. BTW it might have been in a boot loop because you might of dirty flashed or you didn't wipe cache and dalvik cache. That is very important to remember. Never dirty flash and also wipe cache and dalvik cache.
Also did you play with tweaks and such before this was happening. Like voltage or over clock because that could be the problem too.
Dalvik cache and cache are hash signed by the last rom that was flashed. New rom, new hash sign. No need to wipe caches, just data.

Cwm is notorious for failed wipes.
Definitely upgrade to twrp, and if your phone is so messed up twrp can't wipe it, use the android revolution wipe script.

If you're backed up and don't mind losing EVERYTHING, yes, EVERYTHING in /data, then boot into fastboot mode and run
Code:
fastboot erase userdata
from your computer. (Might need root privileges if running on Linux)
Hi guys. I got it to work finally. I didt some tweaking whit the DPI. Maybe that was the cause of the crash ??
But i went to use the Galaxy Nexus toolkit, first of all to flash the other recovery program. But since it dint work either i flashed it whit sock rom, from the same toolkit at started all over. That did work, but hell of a way to go

Problem after reboot

My Galaxy Nexus with the update 3.16, yesterday after reboot it forgets my google account, today after a freeze i remove the battery, i noticed that it was in a boot loop, so i decided to enter in recovery, and flash again the 3.16 and AK 207 kernel with wipe cache and dalvik. It boot, but few apps, about 10 i think, vanished and all apps data lost, my data like photo video etc. still stay in memory. When i try to install from playstore for example "switfkey keyboard", i can't it give me an error 923 or like in case of "Where's my water?" the phone freeze.
Now i flashed the 28 march update, is there anyone like in my condition??Solution? I want recover my apps data
P.s.
i used PA from 11 febbruary and flashed any update wiping only cache and dalvik
THANKS to EVERYONE help me
Seems like data loss. Start fresh, flash factory images and start over - should be quite easier now. Could have been the kernel, or the ROM.

I think that my app all are still in memory, bacause i don't notice more free space in memory, and bacause if i try to install one of the svanished app it give me error "-24" now. What i care is to recover my app data, after that i can wipe all and make a clear flash.
At this point, I don't recommend anything else than a clean factory images flash.
OK, i think i haven't got other choice...:crying:

[Q]How to clear /data

I want to perform a factory reset but I encrypted the phone using twrp and now it wont decrypt. Im currently using CM11 and cant change roms until I can perform the reset. I tried to perform the reset with TWRP and it wouldnt work so I switched to CWM and it still says it cant mount /data whenever i try to perform a factory reset. switch to PhilZ touch recovery and factory data reset but use the second option which wipes everything in order to flash a new rom....but it leaves your pictures and music alone
