[Q] Can't get Sprint VVM working on CM10.2 [SOLVED] - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

I've been unable to get Sprint VVM (Visual Voicemail) to work on CyanogenMod 10.2. I had no problems using VVM with CM 10.0 and 10.1. I'm currently using version T5.3.4.32 from this thread, but I've had the same problems with several earlier versions, as well.
I followed the instructions here to activate VVM, and got a message saying "Provisioning successful", but still no love. I get the text messages from 9016, but nothing shows up on the VVM app. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm running t5.3.3.24 with no issues except for the 9016 messaging issue, which blacklist on most CM Roms still doesn't work to block. The blacklist feature on Illusion 4.3 ROM was working flawlessly, as well as this same version of VVM I have listed.

Sprint VVM incompatible with Hangouts SMS
It turns out that Sprint VVM is incompatible with using Hangouts for SMS. I disabled SMS in Hangouts and went back to the stock MMS app, and VVM started working again. This doesn't bode well for upgrading to KitKat, though. I'm sure that Sprint will eventually fix this since Hangouts is going to be replacing the current SMS app.

I have 5,3,4,32 and it seems to be working correctly on slimkat. I sent my self some VM, and it looked like it was working. I know on an earlier version hangouts was causing an issue. The vm i left myself worked fine, but We'll see if that has been fixed.

CM6 Nightly/RC1 Phantom Voicemail Notification

Is there anyone NOT having this problem?
Is there any fix out there not involving deactivating and reactivating your Evo?
yea, use google voice voicemail, 100x more features
Even after using Google the voicemail notification is still there

I have retired everything. I even sent voice mail to myself through sprint visual voice mail and had two separate email notifications from the same sprint number. I give up.nothing worked.
Try clearing data in the dialer storage app. Im using GV and it's fixed the notification for me even after a reboot.

I think that Sprint also plays a big part in this, it was an issue with my Blackberry's for years.

Did you have the notification before you performed the above steps?
Also could you link me to VMM? I flashed an Hero version and it prevented my device from booting. lol
I has this problem since the first nightly, but after wiping & flashing last night's build, the notification is gone.

If you think you have it fixed try going into and out of flight mode a couple of times and it will be back.

I tried this. I did not receive provision successful voicemail text, just bunch of gibberish text from Sprint that you get with CM6.
Notification is not fixed. Cyannogen stated that there will be a hack in the upcoming nightly to clear the message.
I have yet to get this issue, probably because day one that I got my phone, I switched my default voicemail to Google Voice, and have unanswered calls to my Sprint number forward to GVoice as well.
Screw Sprint's crapware and 1990's voicemail systems, Google Voice all the way!
I did a full data/cache wipe on the last nightly and it is gone. But I am scared to do a reset or toggle flight mode.
I flashed the latest Nightly (7/27) and the I was able to clear the voicemail icon.

Sprint vvm is linked in the op post of the cm nightly thread in the q&a forum. First PG down around the FAQ bit of the post.
Not to be indelicate but... I've been using sprint vvm rom cm6 since I first flashed it and I haven't had any persistent sms msg problems.

[Q] Visual Voicemail

I am currently running GingerSense ReMix for Droid Incredible. I love it, but it doesn't have Verizon Visual Voicemail or the combined SMS/MMS/VVM.
I know Google Voice's voicemail is good and free and there are other free voicemail apps, but I was rather fond of Verizon's. Does anyone know a way to add it to this ROM?
I've tried pushing the VVM.apk to my phone and that didn't work. I tried adding it to the ROM before flashing the ROM. I've tried adding lines to Build file too. But nothing has worked. The farthest I've gotten is having the VVM app, but it won't connect to Verizon to get voicemail messages.
Does anyone of any other ideas I can try?
I wonder if has to do with the EVO mms apn issue that alotta people were having for the gingersense roms when they first came out. Did you make sure.the specific Rom you flashed had the fix for that or not?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA Premium App
I'm not sure if it was fixed for that or not, however, I don't have any problems sending or receiving MMS
I couldn't figure it out. I've decided to just go with Google Voice's voicemail.

Q voicemail not working

Ever since I installed srf 1.2 I have had a problem with the voice mail app downloading anything. I get a text from 9016 ANDROID that gives me a number to call so I can access my voicemail. I have v tried to use the fix on the sprint site to no avail. Has anybody else had voicemail problems?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I also have this problem and would like to find a solution.
Same here running Synergy RC2.
I found that when I wiped everything and reflashed the ROM, all was well for a little while then back to getting texts when I should have been getting a VM on my voicemail app

[Q] Loss of Voicemail Notification BELL - FIXED

I've got a rooted DesireZ running the latest nightly CM7s.
Ever since I rooted, I no longer receive Voicemail notifications. I bought the phone from Bell and its running on Virgin Mobile, Calgary.
Does anybody know a way to get these working again?
I have searched and, believe I have the APN set correctly for BELL (owns Virgin Mobile). I used to get text messages as well as VM notifications and now get neither.
Thanks,
Mike
I use Visual Voicemail Plus, previouly known as PhoneFusion. You set it up, and it notifies you, and instead of having to call to check VM, you can DL the messages and listen to them, or read them.
Whatever you do don't get phonefusion!.
Tried google voice??
But if you aren't gettin sms as well either try a different STABLE rom and see if it changes. If not call tech support and make sure everything is set up correct. They can correct everything from their screen regardless of it being rooted or not.

Thanks papaBear,
I'll give it a try and see if it works for me.
I do get SMS, just not an SMS with a voice mail notification that I first used to get. On that note, had along discussion with a virgin tech support person that told me that their system didn't send an SMS with a voice mail notification. He was at a loss to explain why I got them. He figured my phone was sending them...After another month, they stopped and just VM notifications came. I've tried a few different ROMS and nothing seems to work now.
Maybe if someone has the Virgin Mobile APN settings, I could verify them. I've searched and found various incarnations of the settings but they always seem to not have all the fields listed.
Thanks,
Mike
saw this after last post....
Why not PhoneFusion?
I'm on Bell and sometimes after flashing/updating ROM's I have to manually set my voicemail number in call settings to get voicemail/notifications.

I have been having the same issue ever since I upgrade to CM7 over a year ago. There is a open issue about this on google code:
http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?id=2801
Fixed!
After looking at the thread Goozy posted, I found that the update to the radio seemed to be the cure.
I updated the radio as per this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970809
I went straight to the latest, Vision_Radio_12.62.60.27_26.13.04.19
and after a reboot, EFS wipe, it now works.
Left Voice message with phone in Airplane mode and VM notification came into status bar and text message appeared.

[Q] Issues with cm11

I just recently flashed to cm11 nightly 12-13 on Friday from stock 4.3. Things have been working fine except for a few issues:
1.) Every time I try to access the carrier settings, I run into com.android.phone has stopped.
2.) I no longer have a voicemail app, and am getting 9016 apps asking to call a number for voicemail.
Would using: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2571091
fix my voicemail issues?

You can try to blacklist 9016 texts, doesn't work for me, and if you block it totally, VVM will not work at all, VVM is supposed to intercept those messages and convert those messages to visual voicemail. Blacklist under text app used to block them, but still allow vvm to receive them. Doesn't seem to work on any cm11 ROM I've tried. You can try that newer vvm app, but I don't think its gonna fix the dreaded 9016 issue.
