Hey Guys,
Need some help. Might do a warrenty exchange.
So
Everytime I flash a file in recovery, the camera breaks. I tried TWRP latest and PhilZ latest recovery as well but no luck.
It is pretty awkward when your friend asks you to take a video and it doesn't work. -_-
Any thoughts on this?
I couldn't find anything on this in google or XDA search.
Thanks

Here is the stock-modified Samsung S4 Tmobile Jellybean 4.3 kernel.
This will fix the camera issue for you.
Only flash this if your phone is an M919 S4 otherwise you will really mess things up.
Here is the download link for the kernel in case you need it:
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23252070760972765
Flash this using twrp/cwm recovery.
Good luck!

Thanks man!. Would this kernel work with international roms as well? Want to make sure before I get a bootloop. And yeah I have a m919. Loving it.

I am not sure about it working with the international variants of the M919 But if you make a nandroid
backup before flashng this modified kernel into an international phone then there is no harm done
even if it does not work with it.
Good luck!

Hello,
I am a newbie here so don't criticize me if this question looks dumb....
Since I want to go with a TouchWiz-based rom, it sounds good for me to switch from CyanogenMod to the Wicked v7. I am wondering if I can use ClockworkMod Recovery to do the flash job.... Does the Wicked require TWRP to flash?
Thanks in advance!
Either works

roo66 is by mrRobinson. Unsure why you should Odin stock first. Please don't say it's because the dev said so.

I would say that it's to prevent issues coming from 4.2 to 4.1.
A lot of people have had to do that anyway after doing the backwards jump. Might as well get it done at once.

What do you mean you can't flash anything else? When you flash, are you wiping everything clean each time before flashing ROMs or are you dirty flashing?

yes, i'm wiping everything, whenever i try to install any other rom i have some type of error. i'm new to this so please excuse my noobness. i've tried to flash a stable cm10, among others with no luck.
Do you have the md4 boot loader?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
The new S3 have been modded by Sprint /Samsung and require a modded recovery in order to mount storage. The other issue is that you can not flash an aosp style rom. You should be able to flash any TW rom but it won't allow aosp roms to flash. None of the developers have a new S3 so until someone gets one ir someone volunteers one this won't be solved.

If your getting a status 7 error that is the bootloader error flash this in recovery it will update all your firmware and bootloader. http://db.tt/Qt6NcH0a
After flashing this make sure you reboot the phone then try going back into recovery and flashing the rom you want.
Remember search is your best friend, Have a great day!
Is this still a legit fix even after the 4.3 upgrade?
I just tried this and now my phone wont even power on.
Hey guys, I'm looking to get the tmobile version of this phone since the i9505 doesn't support LTE on tmobile. Would the ROMS made for the i9505 work on this phone? I currently have the HTC One and I can flash the international roms on that phone.
I know the Octa core roms wont work, but will the i9505 roms work?
Thanks for the help!
From all that I have read, all i9505 ROMs will work on the SGH-M919 S4 model. You just have to MAKE SURE that the baseband is NOT baked into the ROM image.

Ahh. ok. Is there a tmobile radio image thats available in case things go wrong? I know the entire ODIN image will restore the phone, but is there just a radio.img file? Thanks.
Is there anyone else that can confirm that they'll work on this phone? I just really want to be sure

To which 4.3 Odin image are you referring? If you mean the 4.3 GPe image, then nah, I wouldn't flash that. There are plenty of CWM flashable versions of the 4.3 GPe leak to even risk using Odin to flash it. You got me kinda excited though thinking you were referring to a 4.3 TouchWiz leak; to which I got kinda excited... I can't lie

Yeah 4.3 Touchwiz. I know about the GPe (HTC has that too)

Thats why I was asking. 4.3 touchwiz would be nice, and since there aren't any custom roms based on it yet, I wondered if I could flash the odin image.

Also, I'd just wait for a CWM-flashable zip as Odin + modems/radios/etc don't really mix well from my understanding between the various models of S4.

I mean, really... if you're like me; and by that I mean staying rooted, not really caring about having stock recovery, and not having to be the absolute first to have the latest and greatest OTA which might break your root/etc, then I'd definitely recommend just sticking with whatever you got now and just waiting until the unsung heros of XDA figure out how to work work their magic on the new stuff.
hi i have a note 2 sgh-I317m and im currently on CleanRom 5.0
ive been looking at the new Ditto rom for note 2 and i want to switch, but is there a certain process i have to go through to switch? or can i just upgrade on top of cleanrom atm?
You should follow the op's (developer) instructions..Some of these 4.3 roms want you to flash a file for the 4.3 bootloader...I'd read the instructions very carefully and read as many post as you can because more then usual you'll face the same issues they had...
good luck

If your on 4.1.2 you will need to either flash the att I317 leak if your on att it's on post 226 in the general forum att 4.3 leak or flash a 4.3 bootloader as per the ops instruction in the rom you want. Both use Odin. If you pick the first option it will wipe your device and make you fully stock. So it will require you to root again and flash twrp. The up side it's the most stable way. The second uses Odin to flash. Some have reported problems. Read through the first few pages of the rom to see the issues.

OTA will only work with a stock 3e recovery...
But taking a factory update over the top of a rooted rom is not a good idea...
Backups are done with a custom recovery...and yes...you need to start reading and learning the proper steps or you will end up making a paper weight..... g

Interesting. Very weird it works on stock but not on aosp. Now that you have odined back to stock have you tried to re flash a aosp rom and check the camera? What stock rom are you odin-ing?
Are you also flashing any other mods or custom kernels?
I would try cm11 with just gapps installed and see what happens.
I doubt it's a hardware issue if it works on stock. Do you use any third party camera apps?
Sorry for lots of questions just trying to narrow down the problem.

well there's the TowelRoot option that would require you to download SuperSU and BusyBox from the playstore then there's using Odin to flash any Custom Recover for the D2lte then in that recovery flashing Chainfire's SuperSU zip....then the most recommended is using Odin to flash the latest Philz Recovery for the D2lte which has an option to root the current rom that your on, under Philz settings

Going to try Wicked X see what happens.
Ive been flashin roms for about 4years. I love aosp but then i had to try wicked X. Its absolutley amazeing. Ive had no reboots, no freezin, awesome battery life, and best of all... EVERY feature on the rom an of the phone works flawless!!! Try it ull be amazed lol
camera works fine on Wicked x. Don't like the rom though. So I'm switching back to 2.37 LS it worked fine on my previous device

Same here, I never ran stock rom on the phone. First thing I did was to root and flash the room.
I'm so use to LS since I ran it pretty much entire time for past 2 years. Very disappointed with camera issues in v3.0. Hope they get it taken care of soon.
