Getting QPST to communicate with nonrooted Droid Incredible

I'm trying to wirelessly tether my unrooted Droid Incredible to my rooted Nook Color per the instructions below but I'm having difficulty getting QPST to communicate with my phone. Can someone explain how to do it? Tried the HW Virtual Serial Port but can't get that working either. Hit ##DIAG and still it does not show up in QPST.... Any help? Thanks!
1) Download/install QPST (google it)
2) Put phone in modem mode (Settings, Wireless, Enable Dial Up)
3) Run QPST Configuration on your computer
4) Add the port if it doesn't show up (go to Ports then click on Add New Port. Uncheck "Show Serial and USB/QC Diagnostic Ports Only". When you see your phone you can add it).
5) Once you see your phone in QPST go to the Menu, Start service programming.
6) Click "read from phone" (password is 000000)
7) Tab over to M.IP
8) Change the profile 1 under M.IP to enable and change tethered NAI to [email protected].
9) Change the profile 0 from [email protected] to [email protected] (just like for profile 1).
10) Click "write to phone"

You don't need qpst to change that.

but to answer your specific question, I would first reload your drivers. I think htc sync has them for ##diag mode.

yep almost always a driver issue.
i would root and use the link provided. probably much easier.

Failed... Phone does not answer

Friends- I am facing a strange problem here. While i connected Sprint S3 for the first time, i was able to connect it to WS 2.7 by latching to the com port after getting in diag mode(rmnet+dm+modem). I was even able to unlock the set by entering samsung default password (while it was not getting spc unlocked) and then flashed cdma operator parameters. After the phone got reset, i checked for prl in the handset which was changed, which meant i was able to flash the parameters.
But then after that, i am able to connect my phone to ws2.7 by latching to the com port, but when i go to read or enter spc/etc, it gives an error "Failed... Phone does not answer". I tried removing the phone and connecting it again, changing the port, reinstalling drivers, but same issue. Request help from gurus..

Missing Diag Config Options

I'm trying to flash AWS onto my I747m and currently am stuck at QPST with 'no phone' error. People have encountered this problem using Galaxy Note 2 attempting AWS mod and fixed it by enabling "DM/DUN over HSIC" in Diag Config mode so I want to try to do the same.
My problem is:
1. *#9090# code doesnt not work for me to prompt Diag Config
2. I am able to enter Diag Config mode by doing *#197328640# > UMTS > Common > Diag Config and my options are:
[1]USB()
[2]UART(*)
[3]DBG MSG ON (*)
[4]DBG MSG OFF ()
I don't have the options for:
[1]DM/DUM over HS-USB[]
[2]DM/DUM over HSIC[]
[3]DM/DUN/RmNET over HSUSB[]
[4]DM over UART(*)
[5]DBG MSG ON(*)
[6]DBG MSG OFF(*)
Where can I find the option to toggle DM/DUN over HSIC?

Please Help! Need S3 to go into DIAG mode

My friend tried to flash the custom rom I am using on his s3 last night. Some reason it corrupted his efs folder and his imei became null/null. We flashed him back to stock rom with ODIN and IMEI change to the generic 040999....we were up all night searching for a fix and have tried everything from modem files to azira patch.
there is one solution that will fix it by repairing the nv file using NV-items reader writer. The problem is the phone needs to be in DIAG mode (DM Mode) for it to read the phone. Until now I have not found a way to get it. ##3424# does nothing. *#7284# only gives me QUAL (modem pda) and USB (Modem pda) there is no qualcomm settings where I am meant to enable diag mode. I have tried the scripts that apparently enable diag mode but to no avail. I did find a code *#9090# which brings up DAIG menu but when i select LOG VIA USB it says "LOG PATH SET FAIL"
So is there anyway I can get this i9300 into DIAG (or dm mode) any help will be much appreciated

VS985 Radio off.. Engineering mode or QPST tool?

My radio has turned off by itself (have no idea how) and I need to turn it back on. I am not able to enter the hidden phone info menu because it shows this (pic attached).
Does anyone know how to enter the engineering mode of VS985? I've tried all the codes provided online and none of them works.
Alternatively if this isn't possible does anyone know how to reset the radio with Qualcomm QPST? I mean the particular line item in RV NV manager.
