Homebuild versions
The homebuild versions are NOT official versions of OmniROM and are build by myself. The reason for these builds are that some changes are not committed to OmniROM yet and might be interesting for you. One example is the multi-window feature. This feature is not yet included in the nightly builds.

Omni is up to 4.4.2 correct? I'm in the process of building, at this moment, for d2att/tmo. Is multi window in the official build or does it still need to be pulled from the gerrit?

Jelly bean kernels can be compatible if they update the ramdisk.

Does anyone know what happened with stock browser? It does not have incognito mode any more and bookmarks doesn't sync. Both are working on my phone with CM11.
External SD in NTFS is not recognized, but it can be mounted with Paragon in read mode for now.

NTFS is not included in OmniROM as far as I know. In 4.3 I ported it from CM10.2 but got lost when gerrit crashed.
On the gapps download page there is a zip that enables bookmark sync (I think).
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk 4
I'm convinced that you will do it again over time. I'm surprised how much of Omni stuf is working at this moment. But you know there will be whining "I can't access my external sd od USB" so there I posted temp solution.
I'm using stripped gapps from CM11 thread so I guess that's why I didn't have bookmarks Sync. I didn't know it's in gapps, I have always thought it's in system.
Is there an unlock tool for the TF300?
Sent from my Kit Kat Nexus
There is an official one on the Asus homepage
It is an apk and you will loose your warranty...
Aosp browser is no longer supported by google for 4.4 so incognito and history don't work anymore and google will never fix it

I have the camera and it is working.
My suggestion would be to reinstall but before you run the zip, wipe the system partition first. This will prevent any scripts from running and backing up gapps that should not be backed up.
You can format the system partition by selecting advanced wipe and select the system partition.

This is AOSP with Linaro additions on top for speed and optimizations.
You'd be amazed at what breaks when you add very strict code optimizations.

can anyone tell me what is the difference between LINARO and non-linaro build?
In the flash directions, after flash rom, it says to unmount system, I've not seen this before. I use philz recovery & my options under mounts is just to format. Will this not work if I flash rom, gapps, superSU.

Linaro is an organization that takes the AOSP code and utilizes strict compilation flags to optimize the code to allow the system to run faster and more efficiently. Caveat though is that dirty/sloppy code needs to be fixed which can range from a trivial spacing issue up to code needing to modified to be written in a proper fashion that doesn't allow for memory leaks or allowing two different functions to point to the same allocated space when they aren't supposed to.
Non Linaro is anything AOSP derived without any of the Linaro optimizations.

The unmount system step is to alleviate an issue that arises with some recoveries for whatever reason won't flash the rest of the packages if system isn't unmounted dispute it being unmounted during ROM flash. Also if the ROM doesn't flash after a wipe it's usually cause system is still mounted. Don't know why it works, but it does.

So if I can't actually, unmount system in philz recovery, then I should flash twrp recovery, which I know I can unmount system, yeah?

One way to get around having to manually unmount system (which one of my testers using philz recovery found) is if the ROM is refusing to flash after a wipe then you should flash the superuser or gapps package first then the ROM should flash with no issue and then you can proceed to install superuser and gapps without needing to unmount.

Nice.. When I had my One X, it was a Linaro-based ROM that made it give it's best performance, I'm hoping this will do the same for my N5. Flashing now.

were they the ones provided on googles website or from the device itself? see my sig to get an idea, you must use the actual device blobs for full sprint functionality using the google provided ones on their website do not provide full support. My apologies if i misunderstood your answer.

Tips
1: Before installing rom goto /settings/apps/Downloaded/Trickster MOD and clear data
After installing rom and gapps.
2: /settings/dev-settings/animation scales x3 change to .25x.
3: /google-settings/search & now/voice/ok Google detection/ turn off OK Google.
don't be impatient it can take upto 15 minutes on bootanimation, just sit tight.
Layers
Layers is a way of installing overlays to your system.
It is in very early development (but already I like it).
It can change resources, ie. strings, colours and values.
It can also be used to fix some rom bugs etc.
We will just be using it as a theme engine for now.
Main Layers xda thread Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/official-layers-bitsyko-apps-rro-t3012172
A collection of Layers available Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/themes/0-themes-official-mega-rro-themes-t3011075
Layers has its own app (unfortunatly it doesn't support legacy devices YET) so I modified my Sion app to be able to install them.
The BitSyko team who developed Layers are working on a new app which should be very smart.
Instructions:
**************
pick a Layers.zip file from the collections link above or the About screen of the Sion app and download it to your sdcard.
Next open Sion (either from /settings/interface/sion installer or from the Sion app in your app drawer.
click Button 3 "Layers Installer".
click Button 1 "Choose Your Layers.zip".
click your predownloaded Layers.zip file.
click Button 2 "Install Chosen Layer".
click Button 3 "Reboot Your Device".
Enjoy your new theme.
TIPS
*****
1/ you can install multiple Layer.zips befor rebooting.
2/ To delete one layer at a time
click Button 4 "Installed Layers"
click on the Layer you would like to delete.
check the checkbox and then click the bottom left Button "Delete Your Chosen Layer".
3/ You can delete all installed Layers by checking the checkbox then clicking the bottom right Button "Delete all Installed Layers".
4/ Use the Installed Layers Button to check what you have Installed.
5/ After deleting any Layers you will need to reboot for the deletions to take effect.
6/ you can istall any number of layers at once, but if you have 2 the same ie. 2 different frameworks.apk's then they will conflict with each other.
7/ Please read about layers in there xda thread (link can also be found within the About screen of my Sion app).
I suggest trying Brian Gills SynergyV2 Layer 1st.
Link: https://plus.google.com/+BrianGill55/posts/9Giqp72hCAG (V3 coming soon).
theres a little bug with synergyV2 layers in the hangouts.apk, just use sion to delete this layer before rebooting. (you can also delete the dialler.apk as we don't need that with the Kindle.
Help
If you have borked partitions please see sd_shadows thread.

and don't forget to thank him.
Good to see development on the OtterX continuing. Good luck on SlimLP for the kindle.
Thanks mate. I'm nearly there just a few issues to sort, hopefully not long now
Development like this is why I consider the otterx to fit in the same family as my Nexus 5 and 10. It's crazy...a 3 year old tablet that is technologically inferior to my freaking WATCH, is receiving Lollipop. Outstanding work, truly incredible!
Can't wait to see how far we can take this device. Lollipop adds at least another year to the life of this device.
Can't wait

The ROM is still in pre-nightly and by flashing it you are helping the pre-nightly Testing process
It may still have some bugs, spontaneously reboot, drain the battery faster or heat up a bit. The aim is to make it better and fix them.
If you find a bug and want to report it here please post a logcat (after it occurred) with a description of what you were doing at the time and the rough timing in the logcat to look at (these things get huge!).
You can also post a dmesg which is the kernel boot logs and can indicate issues with data corruption or hardware.
If you get a reboot then please post a last_kmsg from the /proc folder.
How to get a logcat
How to get useful logs

Thanks for your efforts. I am very happy.

@lj50036, @hardslog, and @scanno thank you for the magnificent work
First, I said it before, but I will say it again, @lj50036. @hardslog and @scanno, thanks for all the hard work. The ROM is running great, no SOD either...YAY!!!
Now, stupid question that I most likely already know the answer for... I am on the 20150516 version already. I can just flash the -enforced version over it right? I don't need to do a clean install again do I? Thanks
Twrp will format your old ROM anyway so no, you can't flash the enforced ROM over the existing one. Just do a dalvick / cache wipe and flash. It will be a clean install but you will still have all of your files in the Tab's internal memory. Gapps should restore all of your previously installed apps and settings.
all my apps and such are backed up with Titanium anyway so will just install that app and go from there
Hi guys,
I have a stupid question: I have TWRP 2.8.1 and i have already 5.1.1 (it was flashed with out any issue).
The question is - is it OK to stay on this TWRP or i will have a problems and better to update?
And the second: is it ok to flash from 2.8.1 to 2.8.6 via fastboot? (on the original site it is info that i have to update through 2.8.4, but where to obtain 2.8.4 for me301?)

Well in my case with banks it felt like i bought the tablet with lollipop pre-installed by asus, everything went smooth just like when i first turned on the tablet. With minimal on the other hand i couldn't get past language selection screen. Some ".com process stopped working" pop-up kept showing on the screen. Tried to wipe cache and stuff but it proved to be a no-go.
what works in this rom?

Flashed the ROM on my ME301T but the aroma GAPPS installer hung up, so I went with PA GAPPS. So far, no SOD like I got with KatKiss. :good:
Fantastic thank you
Wow, this is great. I've applied it to my ME301T which has CWM recovery and it works great.
My camera didn't work with OmniROM 4.4.4 it crashed my tablet but EVERYTHING is working brilliantly with this ROM.
Great work. Well done.
Vanilla-ish AOSP 5.1.1_r14 ROM (LMY48M) for WiFi Nexus 9
This was created by building from LMY48M source and adding SuperSU/BusyBox... Plus customizations (advanced power menu, ART optimizations) borrowed from @GROGG88 on Nexus 5 forum and @craigacgomez. Also bluetooth and WebView commits from @craigacgomez.

NOTE takes a WHILE (5-10 minutes) to boot up on first boot! ART is optimizing applications and it is set to EVERYTHING as we have sufficient system partition storage - for SPEED. There is no more dalvik-vm!
If you like it hit thanks! Donations are appreciated but never expected
I do this for a hobby and to keep my tablet running like new
Coming soon:
You tell me?
NOTES:
ALWAYS flash GApps even if updating from a prior AOSP 5.1.x release! ALL ROMs format the /system partition as part of the installation process and this is where the GApps are kept!
BACKUP using TWRP and/or Titanium - save those files off the device to a USB stick external HDD or whatnot! Not responsible for lost data!
WIPE Data in recovery unless coming from another Vanilla AOSP 5.1.x ROM!
Be sure you are at bootloader 3.44.1.0123 and have flashed latest vendor images (link soon)
ONLY TESTED USING TWRP 2.8.7.0
MUST FLASH a GApps zip after the ROM for Play Store, etc.
If you like it consider donating! A nice big solid state hard drive will let me build faster and for more devices! (YAY my build box now has 411GB free even after all this developing - thanks to all who donated)
Thanks:
@Chainfire for SuperSU and keeping it updated!
@Snuzzo for github familiarization and being a great dev and resource!
@GROGG88 - for the power menu and other patches (even though it was from Nexus 5 it worked great)!!!!
@craigacgomez for reboot submenu and OTG commits @Captain_Throwback and @USBhost for fast charge and additional file system commits
@sykopompos for the sepolicy file and kernel instructions to allow root as well as the ART build.prop tweaks.
@scrosler great dev and good resource
Google for Android
AOSP for source!
Goodies:
Google is phasing out the stock AOSP browser (https://android.googlesource.com/platform/build/+/4271a9b3ed5ffa40e4ef24801cab5690fe5ca56f) - so I compiled (ARM64) Chromium browser from source! Download it and install as you would any other .apk file:

I have always waited for the stock-ish rom! Thank you for compiling! I will test whether the rom supports LTE variant even if you said it is for volantis ;D
BTW, I am so jealous that there is PopSci magazine in your country's Google Play library, because mine is not.

This tab is wholly designed for Lollipop, so I doubt it would work.. I guess he is trying to build 32 bit version of his rom.

Yeah I think that must have come from something I was messing with - this has the same build tree as the Nexus 7 (2012 WiFi) ROM I am still trying to support http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7/development/rom-t2931064...
I also noticed AOSP Browser setting crash (think I found a fix) and it looks like BusyBox could me missing some symbolic links...
Please upload the lastest vendor image! Waiting for it
Or can i extract it from factory image?

Hey sorceforge, just wondering if you had a chance to try it on the LTE version yet?

I can confirm 4G/3G data works on your ROM. Good job :good:
Although I had to set the APN manually. Which wasn't a problem, but you might like to warn other users if LTE doesn't connect automatically.
flash in progress ....
20 minutes expected and does not go forward. solution ???
Nb Use last TWRP
