Introduction
The goal of Omni is to experiment with Android development because we enjoy it. Omni isn’t better, just different. It’s another option for the billion Android users out there. Android (vs. iOS and every other mobile OS) has thrived on options as well as the gigantic, talented development community that has emerged to build those options. That’s the beauty of Android – that you can pick and choose from a smorgasbord of devices with varying features and functionality.
Omni is a chance to get involved, no matter who you are. Developers, whether you’ve been developing apps for a week, or ROM features for 3 years, you’re welcome. Users, we know you want to help out, and now you can – Omni actively encourages bug reports and feature requests, which can be added to our publicly accessible roadmap. What’s the point in giving you a ROM, and forcing you to not tell us about any bugs you find?
We also recognize how people use Custom ROMs – we’re all custom ROM users and developers ourselves – the argument that “nightlies are not for end users” is over-used, and no longer valid. We’ve found that the vast majority of users want to get nightly updates to their ROM. For that reason, nightlies aren’t a playground – nightlies are for new features that are finished. You should be able to expect the same stability and reliability from a nightly as you would from a “release” ROM, and can report any bugs that prevent this from happening.
We know not everyone wants to update their ROM daily, and you are free to update as frequently or infrequently as you like. Omni is about flexibility and giving users what they expect – and we are excited to see where the community goes with it.

Bear in mind, that this ROM is in "Testing" phase, and Unofficial from Omni (pretty sure it's the first that I could find for the m7vzw). All I did was boot up, sign in to my Google account, signed into my WiFi, called and texted someone as a test. That's it, and that's all I've tested.
And Q&A/T thread has been added. Please use that for...uhh..Q&A. And basic troubleshooting. This thread is purely for development.

Done.
So I've been running it since last night....about 6-7 hours of actual usage. Everything is working properly except Bluetooth. Bluetooth can find devices it just cannot communicate with them. I receive an error "cannot communicate with device" in my car, with my jawbone and also with a $10 BT headset from RadioShack. I will provide a logcat later tonight or tomorrow when I have some free time. Just throwing it out there for now to see if anyone else can confirm. Also, I haven't found a way to use multiwindow. Other than that it has been great and battery life is very good. Thanks man. Have a great day.

I'm bumping it up because I don't think a lot of people know a second build is out. It has less than ⅓ the amount of downloads as Build 1....Build 2 is working great BTW

No real major additional features (a minor changes from Omni), but does fix the Roaming indicator being always on, despite not roaming.
New Christmas Eve build up, complete with holiday themed image in the OP. Thanks, Alex.
I haven't added Goo Manager update support yet, because I was hoping to get the m7vzw official status.
Does this have the split view support that's available on the international build of Omni?

It should. I didn't deviate too far from Omni's device trees to ease a merge.

It doesn't. I actually asked 3-4 times but never got an answer as to where it should be to enable it. So I looked online to see how to enable it (open recents and long press an app) but it doesn't have that feature. Maybe build 3 will have it but 1 and 2 definitely didn't. Merry Christmas guys

Yeah its no worries man. I haven't been able to try it on any AOSP ROM yet and was hoping to try it on here so I looked up how to use it on YouTube but it doesn't look like its included on here. I tried to look through all settings and advanced settings to see if I had to enable it or if I was missing something but I couldn't find anything so I'm guessing it just isn't present. Anyway its no big deal and no rush whatsoever because everything else works properly and its super smooth. Have a great week happy holidays.

No clue... @XPEric was the one who mentioned international version...but Androcles very well could be right that it isn't in 4.4
EDIT...It looks like only some homemade builds of 4.4.2 have multi window included...on m7ul's page it lists official builds and homemade builds and the differences each one has...one of them being multiwindow

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Google's ICS pen APIs automatically enable if a pen driver is enabled in the kernel.
That said, only apps which support the standard pen APIs instead of S-Pen APIs will work.
Examples are Quill and Memo Beta

Does this mean the built in s-pen apps won't work under cm10? Of course that would also mean no split screen I guess. Sorry if these questions seem dense but its all bit confusing.

Just wanted to point out that most of the replies so far should go in the discussion thread, not this one (this post is off topic too). This thread should be reserved for bug reports with proper logs and other information.
But just to clarify for those new to custom ROMs, CyanogenMod is a ROM that is based off of google's Android Open Source Project. Furthermore, Samsung's stock ROMs include a lot of proprietary parts for which source is not available. Any customizations from Samsung's stock ROMs that aren't in AOSP will never be found in AOSP ROMs (for the most part - I think at one point a talented smali hacker got the Touchwiz camera to work on AOSP ROMs on the Galaxy S).
Thus, specifically for the Galaxy Note 10.1, you will not have the split screen multitasking, floating apps on the navbar, S Note, or any of the other Samsung apps. Most of them have third party equivalents you can find on the market anyway. Split screen multitasking is not something you can really recreate in an app, but there was at one point a project (Onskreen Cornerstone) to build something similar for Android, and Cyanogen at the time expressed interest in including something like it in CyanogenMod. However, that was March of last year and nothing is there yet so who knows if it's still on the table (maybe our friendly neighborhood maintainers can tell us more).
You also won't be able to use any apps that specifically use the S Pen SDK, but apps that use the built in ICS Pen APIs will work (and I don't know why anyone would use the S Pen SDK on ICS, even if there aren't any other active digitizer ICS devices now, there surely will be in the future and limiting yourself to Samsung devices for little benefit seems pointless to me).

I understood that this is the thread to post bugs with logcats in. So here goes.
There is this one network to which I can not connect. It tries and fails. The trying and failing goes on indefinitely. There are other networks to which it connects just fine, but this one keeps failing.
Device: N8010
CM Version: cm-10-20120930-EXPERIMENTAL-n8013-ENTROPY (The first nightly)
Logcat: http://pastebin.com/WaAhji6k
Most notable error from logcat:
E/WifiHW ( 2467): Unable to open connection to supplicant on "/data/misc/wifi/sockets/p2p0": No such file or directory
Click to collapse
It might be a certain security method that is missing, or that the connection socket is somehow closed before it's supposed to.
Router data:
Brand: ZyXEL
model: P-2602HW-D1A
SSID: Smient24Wifi
Security: WPA2-Personal
Encryption: AES
Notes:
- The network used to work fine on stock rom
- it was also broken on build cm-10-20120924-UNOFFICIAL-n8013
- I turned on the logcat, turned on wifi, let it try about 7 times, turned wifi off, turned logcat off.
- The logcat will probably report a poor signal strength. The signal strength is low when it's trying to connect, and jumps to the real value in between connections. This behavior remains exactly the same when I hold my tablet right next to the antenna of the router. I don't know how much this is related to the reported bug.
- Until this bug is fixed, I can work around the issue with connectify, so I won't be whining about when the bug is fixed
Thanks!

Newest nightly from get.cm is safe and ready.
Team EOSJB 4.1.2 Crespo4gNIGHTLIES
Continuing on from the success of the EOS ICS roms, we present to you EOS3, based on JELLYBEAN!
It is the goal of Team EOS to develop and maintain the highest performing and most stable AOSP based rom for an array of platforms. For the latest news on Team EOS releases make sure you follow @teameos on twitter and on IRC on Freenode in #teameos.
--
NOTE: Team EOS, it’s members, friends, dogs, cats, and associates are in no way responsible for any loss of data or device functionality. Use this at your own risk!
--
A quick note on Nightlies: NIGHTLIES ARE DEVELOPMENT BUILDS. They are automatically generated every now and then, and represent the compilation of the latest commits to the code repository. While every effort is made ensure that the commits that are accepted are stable and do not have a negative impact to the overall performance and function of the builds it is not possible to test every aspect of a commits impact to the overall repo prior to it’s inclusion in a given build. As a result it is entirely possible that instabilities may be introduced as a result of a given days commits. That is the nature of the nightly system, and the risk that is taken using the latest code changes to the project.
EOS is an AOSP based rom. It is developed and maintained by Team EOS and is the culmination of our own in house development efforts.
Team EOS Nightly builds: http://goo-inside.me/devs/teameos/roms/eos3/nightlies/crespo4g/
G-Apps Package
Because this is an AOSP based rom Google Apps are not included in the base rom. To install Google Apps please flash the following package after installing the base rom:
Gapps package gapps
--
Features:
Because these are nightly builds the included features are constantly evolving, we do not provide a change log manually. Instead please see the changes on jenkins for your build.
For the most up to date and comprehensive listing of the changes included in this rom please visit http://review.teameos.org
Kernel:
Kernel Note: This rom is currently using the stock kernel, so you can find the sources from aosp.

Installation Notes:
These builds are designed to be installed from your favorite recovery.
Perform a full wipe (read Factory Reset) prior to installing this over ANY ICS or JB based rom.
BUGS!
If you find strange or otherwise unexplained errors please report them here: https://bugs.teameos.org/ Please include logcats and as thorough a description of the issue and what lead up to the issue as possible. With out this we will be unable to track down these errors.

In the latest nightly you will find a new app called CDMATools. I wrote it for toroplus. But I'm venturing into supporting other cdma devices as well. There is a feature called Get MSL. Can you guys test it and confirm it works? Thx.
Anyone having MMS issues?

hi,
I've just installed this ROM that looks like great! (and I've ported this thread in another italian forum...)
Only a couple of requests, if it's possible... :
Would you like to add the volume rocker wake mod, for the "almost broken power button" users like me, and, ever if it's possible, add the "quad lock screen"?
Thanks anyway!!

I'll look into volume wake. We had the same broken power button issue on Xoom. What's quad lock screen?

It's very possible. Sprint and jb have never played nice regarding mms. We had the same issue on sprint gnex. I just ended up using gosms. Not the answer I like to give but at least the sexting can go on

Ya. I think we may be able to do a tad better. It fascinates me how the demand for different features varies from device to device. Not saying that's a bad thing by any means. It's good because it spawns creativity and new ideas.

Find any combination you like, scale and project apps, widgets and system components!
PER-APP-COLOR, Paranoidandroids newest invention. Define apps in your regular hybrid panel (same that allows you to scale apps individually and choose their interface). See your phone fade into the color definition of your current app, press home or go elsewhere and it fades back. Create as many combinations you like, you can even dabble with opacity. This feature is made possible by our hybrid engine, which is unique to this rom.
To be honest, this is not tablet mode at all, it has nothing to do with silly build.prop hacks. This is the first and only Android rom to feature true Hybrid mode. This rom lets you scale and project every app, every widget, even systemcomponents individually. Remember, android is modular, everything is an app: Lockscreen, navigationbar, dialogs, popups, keyboards, widgets, and your regular apps of course. Apps have the capability to switch into various designs or layouts according to the device they run on. This can result in a complete new experience as many apps will transform to the better.
Now for every element that you like chose a mode (PhoneUI, Phablet/Nexus-7UI, TabletUI) and/or a size. You are 100% independent of the system DPI which runs nicely in whatever value it has been assigned to. You do not need to boot your phone into a certain DPI. Neither will most of the changes you apply require a reboot. You will not suffer from the myriads of troubles which normally haunt you under build.prop tablet mode. Your market, phone, etc. will all work, apps won't shrink on you unless you shrink them yourself. This project will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the feel of your phone.

If you have an issue and you want to call our attention, here's what you do:
1. Try everything you can, find solutions for yourself. Wipe caches, revert all your settings you have made, go back to your stock Kernel, factory reset if you have to or reflash the rom. Assume that the issue is on your side and try your best to isolate it.
2. Search this thread and Cyanogenmods aswell (its our base) for possible reoccurences of your issue and hopefully solutions that may have come up.
3. If you think the issue is important enough that we should cease our work and look into it, post your issue, BUT ...
... stay friendly, do not demand anything, do not threaten
... explain your issue as precise as you can, name the exact apps and conditions that cause trouble, help us to replicate the issue right away. If we can't there's no way we can fix it and your post will simply clutter the thread
... collect evidence, keep in mind this is a developer thread so even if you are not one, do us the favor and research how to record logcat. logcat is the single most important help you can give us to resolve your issue.

I can't really say. I compiled this myself on the ATT forums and was suggested to post it here as it works on all LTE devices...I guess I missed that there was a thread in original development =x

If this is actually source compiled, that is the difference. The other one says so in the OP but further along he states it is a port and not compiled. As such, the threads are both in the wrong sections. This is original (you made it), his is not (he copied/pasted it).

Ahhh well fair enough then.
Also, Im going to include a link to my ATT thread that may answer any questions some of you may have.
The OP is properly Paranoid formatted. So I am behind this
If I may make a suggestion though? It was quite the scroll with those pictures. It would be nice if you would hide the some of them with the
tags.
For example,
Here is a paragraph! :victory::angel::crying:
And it would be easier on mobile connections and slow internet in general.
Thank you! And great work! Let me know if you need a server mirror!

This is here to be a temerary home for RootBox to continue ROM Discussions, A new thread under "Original Development" will come back soon. There is no ETA for this thread so here is one to continue disscussion until there is one.
Lets keep this about disscussions about RootBox and not about what happened to John or the other thread, thank you!
Description
Vanilla RootBox is built straight from RootBox sources and always carries a very light installation with no extra/useless apps. This means, you can enjoy a pure Android experience combined with AOKP/CM features and some CM cherry-picks. Keep in mind Jelly Bean is only at the beginning stage of development and there will be minor bugs. Every RootBox releases are stable and always up to the challenge for a daily usage. I personally have a high standard when it comes to releases and this is why this project always meets the expectations of users. If you're wondering how this ROM differs from any other AOKP roms out there, I only have one thing to say: Try it yourself and choose the one that meets your requirements.

Could you add a little bit to that (what is PUB goodness)? I have so many questions coming from my paranoid android gnex...

PUB= Project Unicorn Butter, meaning super smooth and fast and great on battery!
Key Skips=No
Wifi Tether=IDK, but probably cause you have to actually have a 4G Tether Plan to use it
xPosed=Yes the Per App DPI was in fact removed, the modules portion is still there, just disable it in apps and ou will not see it among your apps but still in settings.
Cannot talk about what happened to John in the forums cause we do not want to piss off anyone and maybe get this thread closed as well, just know it is being worked to get him back, so this thread is the temp until such a time comes along, but he is alive and well and still building, i am just speaking in his place and informing you of updates in which to go download at your pleasure...

Yeah, sorry about that. I'm still in the process of taking over as this device's maintainer. Once I'm done, the ls970 will be added back as a supported device and you should expect to see fresh nightlies rolling out soon.
I'm happy to say that I'll be your new maintainer. The ls970 is once more a supported device and as such, will be getting nightlies rolled out soon. I'll be around for you guys if you need help or have questions. Looking forward to getting this stale August 24th build off my device, and I know you guys are too.
Welcome and thanks for taking this awesome ROM to maintain it. :good:
As you are the maintainer now, I'll suppose that is fine tho post feedback about the ROM to you...
I've been running that last old build (08/24) since a few weeks. only two things to report:
1- having delay waking up the device when it self goes off due the ''screen off time'' but not if I lock it through the button.
2- bsod sometimes, with the built in kernel and with different custom kernels too, that's why I'm guessing is ROM related.

1) I can confirm this problem. It cropped up in the last couple builds. It may be temporary, so let's wait and see if it occurs in the latest nightlies once they roll out.
2) BSOD as in a blue screen saying something like "subsystem crash"? I've gotten those a few times too. They're just the weirdest things to see on an Android system. And they occur for me at the oddest times, like when the phone's just sitting there doing nothing. I haven't gotten any lately though. This is another case of waiting and seeing if the problem has been fixed in the latest nightlies.
As for the nightlies, you can see here that I've added the ls970 back into nightly.xml, so our Jenkins build bots will be getting around to making a build for the device soon. By the way, if you'd like to volunteer one or more of your machines as a build bot and help speed up our nightly build process, by all means view this thread. Thanks.

Happy to know that our device is back in business.
By bosd or "black screen of death", I mean that when I try to unlock/wake up the device it doesn't, keys lights up but the screen stays off.
I'll would love to help with the building process, I even would love tho be able to build some ROMs but my machine doesn't have the requirements :/

Oh. Yeah I've had that problem too. It's a pain in the ass but at least you can hold the power button down for a little bit to hard restart the phone. But we'll have to see if we have this problem with the latest nightlies as well, because it may have already been fixed.

No problem. They're pretty demanding requirements and rightfully so; building a single nightly can take hours. That was just a general solicitation in case anyone who can meet the requirements happens to stumble upon my post. But if you want to contribute a build bot, next time you're in the market for PC hardware, I'd recommend getting one of those cheap AMD 8 core CPUs, since building is a heavily multi-threaded process. Thanks for your interest
Some goodies in the last build like stop and resume downloads, good to have new builds again. :good:
so far the only bug in my end is still present, having that delay when unlocking after it self turn off the screen.
Edit: I think that I've found another one, something wrong with YouTube.

Yeah I still have the delay too, even though I started with a fresh install and just restored my apps with Titanium. I'm going to test these bugs on a true fresh install, and if they're there I'll ask around about it.
Edit: Yep. Just as I thought, the (or at least a) cause of the screen on delay is from disabling the lockscreen from quick settings. As soon as I re-enable the lockscreen, the delay goes away for me. Can you confirm that this happens with your phone too? I've attached a couple images of my quick settings to illustrate what I mean.
As for the YouTube problem, before I've noticed occasional artifacting/video corruption all over videos, which goes away when I fiddle with the seekbar. With the latest gapps' YouTube I just see a small band of artifacting at the bottom of the screen that won't go away. When I update to the latest YouTube through the Play Store, I see the same all-over artifacting that I saw before (https://puu.sh/bHxBq/a65975f799.png), only it doesn't go away. I don't see anyone complaining about it on the Play Store entry, so I'll assume it's specific to us.
I'll ask around about these problems. For now I'll note them in the "Other info" section of the OP. I'll keep you guys informed.

Yes that's exactly what is going on with youtube.
about enabling/disabling lockscreen in quick settings, I'll check that, as I dont have that toogle added to my QS screen.
I'll let you know if that solves it.
EDIT:
Nope that's not the problem, I have it enabled.
Hey guys. Anyone else having issues with NFC? I'm running on the 9/20 nightly and I can't get it to come one. I check the NFC box and it just fades but it won't come on.

yup, happened to me, but after a reboot it works.
the annoying bug that is still present for me is the delay when waking up the device...
i think I'll try another ROM to see if it's only PAC.
Sorry for the delay. XDA decided to not email me about thread replies.
So I've been told the delay is normal behavior when you've disabled the lockscreen through quick settings, since it's bypassing the lockscreen. I wish I could give you a better explanation. It's not bug, just an unintended side effect. Hopefully we'll implement a better method in the future that doesn't have a delay.
Since you still have the delay even when the lockscreen isn't disabled, I'd do a nandroid backup, wipe, then do a fresh install of the ROM. Then see if the issue appears. If it doesn't, then it could be something wrong your current install. If it does still appear, then I don't know what to tell you lol. All I can say is that I only have a screen on delay when I have the lockscreen disabled - both in a fresh install and a non-fresh install - and that it's apparently normal behavior.
As for the YouTube corruption, I'm not having that problem on my current install. I'd like to see if more people have this problem before we go on a full on investigation.

I'm guessing it doesn't occur in other ROMs?

Out of curiosity, do you guys happen to be using see-through on the lockscreen. I know that creates major delays for me when turning the screen on
