I've always gotten along well browsing XDA, (and yes, using the search box ), but I'm at a point where I need some direction / advice.
I been rooted, and I recently got up and running with the Jedi MasterX without any issues. Then yesterday, after a boot I noticed that I had lost root. I actually believe it happened when SuperSU updated from the Play Store. (The message I get now from SuperSU is that "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem. ,...consult forums,..)
I've been trying to figure out the best way to reacquire root. I don't care about Knox status. If someone could point me in the right direction, I would be very thankful.

If youre on a ROM I assume you have a custom recovery. The easiest way is to just flash the supersu zip from chainfire

A dirty flash is when you reflash a Rom, clearing cache and dalvik, but not performing an entire factory reset. When I dirty flashed, the main components Rom got put back in place as if it were an initial flash, but my apps, customizations etc were largely untouched.

Where does the img go so that CWM can see it on my phone? Or do I boot into CWM and update it that way?
Did you change the build.prop for the Google Wallet work around? Change it back, everything should work again.

I had this problem last night myself...turns out it was due to the version of CWM recovery I was running, which was v5.4.x.x, IIRC. I used adb to install the latest version of CWM, v.6.0.x.x IIRC and reattempted the flash and it worked fine.
noob question, but since CM10 doesn't have a Rogers version, are you using the AT&T one?
thanks!!
Thanks to everyone who posted about the d2tt.img recovery...it finally soved that problem.

Great, I'll switch back when that is fixed. Right now I am using the OUDHS CWM based Recovery cause the text is readable. The text in the regular CWM is too tiny to read, I have to use a magnifying glass to read the options

Yes, there is an issue with that since the touch screen is so much more sensitive on the S4, but it will be fixed soon. Team Win is working on it.

Your trying to flash eos... you need to go to that thread and read the instructions for installation... Which would include...
Being on the jb ota (android os 4.1.2) or used the appropriate teeny bin
Being unlocked, rooted, and using team win recovery (twrp)
Make sure ROM and gapps are on your sdcard
Reboot into recovery
Factory reset
Wipe system (not data/media)
Wipe cache and dalvick cache
Flash ROM
Flash gapps
Then reboot and set everything up

Hi there!
I tried to flash CWM recovery 6.0.4.3 (rom manager) either from the app itself, and with odin. In both cases, the update didn't work. I flash over and over again, but the version stuck at 5.xxxx. Then I tried to flash the TWRP 2.6.3.1, but my phone stuck in a recovery boot loop. Don't worry! I did a nandroid before and been able to flash back my rom. Is anyone has any ideas why I'm not able to flash the update? I'm running dirty unicorn rom, on a samsung sgh-t999v (videotron canada). I try to flash the kitkat update, but I need to do the CWM update first.
Thank you!

No dice. Rebooting to recovery even with that just leaves me staring at the boot image.
EDIT: I remember reading that those who took the KitKat OTA got a different boot image that makes going back to Jellybean difficult, if not impossible. Could that have anything to do with this?

Guys KEEP IN MIND:
These are not officials, these are fairly beta builds. You will get errors, I was hoping this would reach some crack-flashers.

How can we get onto official CM then?
I know it has something to do with the kernel. We can't downgrade the kernel to the one CM is using? Or we have to wait until CM move up to kernel 3.4?

The latest Nightly is from February, which is 4.4.2.
Honestly keep checking that website, and check XDA.
Since the bootloader has been unlocked there should be a lot of movement / action in the dev section.
I would honestly not flash anything older, I mean feel free to mess around w/ kernel that are newer than 4.4.2 on CM.
I can't promise anything if you're on stock. I hope that helped at least a bit.
