I use a car mount the uses a magnet (Mountek) and if I put my phone too far up on the mount, a black screen with just a clock shows. I am guessing this is from the flip case. Is there anyway to turn this feature off? I don't want the black screen to show when I mount. Thanks for any help

Go to Settings>My device>Accessory>Desk home screen display
and un-check the check mark.
That's S-view. Unfortunately there's no way to turn it off.
I had the same problems when I first got my Mountek. Playing around I found that the thinnest plate work the best and you'll have to place the plate lower on the phone.
If you use NFC also you'll need to situate they plate where it will not mage S-view show up but still allow NFC to work.

I unchecked all in Accessories, but the black screen with just the clock & date come up. Any other ideas?
Like I already mentioned, you cannot disable S-View. I only get that screen maybe only once a month after doing what I described above.
You could also flag a non TWz ROM.

S-view get trigger by the magnet built into the S-view case. That's why a magnetic mount trigger the screen. The way I have it, I would have to try very hard to trigger the s-view with my mountek

Yes, was having troubles figuring out how to get what I need without having the device in my hand. Would like to activate the view myself and then make the toggle app.

You're probably bumping into the "Air view" feature without knowing what it is. I recommend you read the manual to understand all of the awesome functionality, including the cool things that you can do with the S-Pen, that Samsung included with the Note 2. Failing that, you're likely to be posting basic questions like this to the annoyance of many. =)
To turn *off* the hover functionality, go to "Settings | S Pen" and swipe the "Air view" to "off".

I don't know if it should, but mine does, too. The middle bar there is slightly raised.

Yes, that's how it's documented. From p. 36 of the manual:
Once enabled, you can capture any on-screen information swiping across the screen. In a single motion, press the side of your hand on the screen and swipe form left to right. The image is then copied to the clipboard.

Thanks for making this program.
It didn't fix the issue I was having --- On M919 Tmobile ROMs, the soft keys come on any time you touch the screen. I had an l337M and the keys only come on when you touch them. Is there any way to restore this functionality? I hate having to choose between keeping them on all the time, or off... (I know that wasn't why you wrote this program, but I'm hoping you or someone could point me in the right direction...)

Honestly, not trying to be rude, but.. doesnt that sort of defeat the whole purpose? If you touch the buttons when the lights are off, you obviously know where they are, so why turn on the lights? Lol. Not trying to be rude.. just a thought i had.

I know what you're saying, but that's the default behaviour on the l337M's (At least on Rogers). I read some reviews where someone mentioned the same thing... I don't mind it though. It's better then having them on all the time.

This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for, thanks! I am running stock 4.3 Google Ed. on my AT&T S4 and wanted to use the onscreen nav buttons mod. The onscreen button build.prop mod worked well, but it was annoying have the capacative lights still light up when I tapped the onscreen buttons.
Would anyone happen to know how to disable them completely?

Thanks!! Greatly appreciated!
And to disable the buttons completely, there is a file under /system/usr/keylayout
That needs editing. Can't remember which one exactly. A lot of people actually remap them to other functions to get more use out of them.

Hello-
I have samsung book cover case and want to disable auto screen on/off function.
As there is no such option, the only way is to disable magnetic sensor (lid function).
Can someone write a flashable script to do it ?
Or suggest any other way to solve it...
Thanks in advance!

I'm not entirely sure if I recall correctly, but I think I remember that theres an app My Script Resources or such that has hooks into Daynote and in turn the magnetic sensor. I think I recall that I once froze that app and it broke my book cover. Might work for you.

Did anyone find any way to turn off the magnetic lock and unlock function? When I backfold my cover (aftermarket), it automatically locks my tab. Which is very irritating. I have Samsung galaxy tab S5e
Here is the case. When i open the magnetic cover it automatically turns on the display and show up the Day-note...It's OK...
But the problem is in the Day-note page, the notepad square is not available to draw. It's dark and i tried to add plus mark right up corner but it doesn't add new note....I couldn't find anything in the setting and can't fix it..Help me....
