Hi,
is there a shop who sell nexus 5 genuine battery?
Is there a guide on how to replace the battery?
Selling brand new genuine batteries is impossible in any legal ways. As this phone's battery was designed not exchangeable, they don't sell it to end-users but to the licensed service centres. Those you could find on the net were either parts from the broken phones' or fake ones. (Usually fake ones, they make it looks like genuine ones but they are not.)
To replace it, it's quite easy. Check out iFixIt or the leaked LG service manaul, they got step-by-step guide for it.

I noticed recently that there are some Ebay sellers selling BST-41 batteries at very low prices. All of them seem to be from Hong Kong or China.
I got this feeling that they are all fakes. This is too good to be true right?
Anyone who got one care to share your experience?
Personally I'd avoid batteries from third parties that are "incredibly" cheap.
Make sure the quality of these batteries are well known. (comments, forums, other users, etc.)
I'm not telling you to stay away from them, but to keep an extra eye open and make a bit of research on the manufacturer before you jump on.
These types of batteries should be rigorously controlled during manufacture, and I bet these cheap batteries aren't so well controlled during the manufacturing process.
Sometimes even some chemical components or processes are skipped to keep the manufacturing costs down.
Risk of third party batteries to catch fire or even explode, due to the lack of quality, are bigger.
I've seen a few battery fires myself, and every time it was due to a "low quality third party battery".
Search the net on "lithium-ion fire" and you might get a glimpse
Just bought a pair, and they don't work.
When you get them, they are charged to around 45-50% and when you put them in your phone, they don't charge at all...
Don't waste your money, even if they are cheap.
I gave around 15$ for the batteries...
Thanks for the replies. Amazon.com it is, then.
I got a what was advertised as a genuine battery off ebay from a uk supplier
and while it works fine in my old x1 it's a tiny bit too short to push itself up enough to reach the battery contacts. Easily remedied though by gluing sone thin plastic packaging to the base.
Still not sure if this is a fake or a factory second as it holds charge fine and has the correct markings. It cost around 10 gbp

I got a cheap pair from ebay that were labeled as Sony SBT-41 batteries, but of coarse the labels were fake. Do a google search on fake Sony SBT- 41 labels.
Also, apparently, cheap batteries can be dangerous

Hello everyone.
Has anyone used the Duracell replacement battery for the Samsung Galaxy Note; depicted in the attachment below?
:silly:
This looks interesting just because of a trustworthy brand name. Just looking on the web for it I can see huge price differences between different suppliers. Unfortunately it is not in stock at my local supplier with stock arriving some time in April. Definitely will give it a go as it states 3 year manufacturers warranty on the suppliers page. Thanks for the find!
yes, i use it for nearly one year now. It was a little bigger than the original one. So i had removed the plastic cover and hone down the bottom of this battery a little bit.
BUT this battery is more powerful than all the other replacement that i have bought before.
Hi just ordered a battery for the LG V20 and it was supposed to be OEM and 100% brand new. However, when I received the battery, there was a black tape over the LG logo. This raised some red flags. Taking a closer look, the label on the battery has more slightly bolded letters compared to the original and the sticker itself is not applied to the battery nearly as well as the original. Another concern is the manufacture date on the battery says 2016.07.07[L]. The LG V20 was released on September 6th and didn't go on sale for another two months! What should I do about this? Is this likely a counterfeit? And do I contact LG, Ebay, or the seller?
Here is the link to the battery on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/252701172837?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
P.S. I would attach a picture I took comparing the two batteries, but cna't figure out how to do that.
Thanks
I'd say contact the seller first. If they won't let you return then contact ebay. If you paid with Paypal they usually assist you for a resolution.
Yea I never get extra batteries from eBay anymore because they're all counterfeit no matter what the description says. Your only option is Amazon, IMO.
eBay is great for cases tho. I've gotten a few counterfeit cases on previous phones that were the same and better than the real ones because they fixed certain issues that the real cases had.

Don't order batteries or sdcard off of eBay too many fakes, amazon is better but I would make sure you get it from Amazon and not a 3rd party seller.

Find a local dealer for batteries that warrenties them. If your paying 15$ you get what you pay for, oem should run 40-50$ per battery
anything less its consumers fault for buying a cheap-o knock off, its like anything else. And why risk your safety with a EL-Cheapo?
Didnt anyone learn that lithium is dangerous and its not something to take lightly? NOTE 7?? Those knock offs dont go through ANY quality tests, and usually dont even have the resistors on the top of battery for protection.
Just google search cheap batteries from ebay, youll see what im talking about.. Stay away from Ebay and Amazon for this stuff. Same exact marketplace style, just 2 different parent companies.
east coast has store called ( Batteries Plus And Bulbs ) find a place similar and do biz local.
1 for exchanges and issues, 2 because you have a place to hold accountable and verify reputation.
We see this all the time on batteries.
Just order the cradle pack https://www.amazon.com/LG-Battery-Charging-BCK-5200-Charger/dp/B01M5C23SV it has everything included and is quite cheap.
It might be safe but performance probably won't be the best. Contact the seller and he should resolve it for you, he obviously knows they're fake and won't risk the bad feedback. A guy on eBay with a few thousand feedback would never have these amounts of official LG replacements fyi. They're easily found online just be more careful next time.
Hello
I want to use My Nexus is my backup phone. Can anyone recommend a good battery. I ordered one from Aliexpress but it didn't ship and was refunded. Since it is my first android phone, I have a lot of memory with it
I've bought many batteries and only a few of them were good. unfortunately there is no way to tell which one will be good, because they are all "fakes". the companies responsible aren't taking credit, which means they also aren't bragging about how good their battery is, or what their track record is. my advice is 2 things: try to find listings that show the date of the battery's construction, or a picture of the actual battery itself, showing a date printed on the label. it is important to get a new battery. I think newer means more likely to not be garbage. and #2: if you want to spend more, there are a couple companies around the world that do sell galaxy nexus batteries with their name brand on them. buying one of these might cost $50 shipped to you, but going this way would prevent you needing to buy 5x $10 batteries like I did. I would link you to the ebay listings of the ones I bought, but they'd all be dead links by now! good luck!
Hello guys.
I’m looking to buy a battery because it’s been more than 2 years with it but I don’t know where to buy original ones, not generic batteries.
Looking to ship it to Mexico.
Did you look on eBay? There are a ton of them on there.
I've seen some of those but the sellers say those are generic ones and with my experience with generic batteries are not good
I saw OEM ones listed as well.....
you can just buy from reputable aftermarket brand, at least they're honest with it's product not a fake one's labelled as original/OEM
All those LG batteries on ebay are counterfeit. You can see the youtube video of a reporter that went to china, where they just slapped LG labels on generic batteries. I've also pulled back the label on ebay LG batteries, they don't have the proper engraving like genuine batteries.
So where does one go to get a -real- LG G6 H873 compatible battery?
What do you mean where? Haven't you heard of LG? Buy it directly from them!
Called the LG CS today, and the staff told me to contact Global Direct Parts, that's where they get the authentic parts as he said
just search that it'll pull up, I even ordered a battery for my old Nexus 5, and backordered for my SIII lol
Original LG G6 battery cost about 24,99 €
