Hello, I've been having some serious problems with lag and choppiness in games. My phone is rooted and I am running Wicked ROM V8 with KT kernel. The game I am the most upset about is The Amazing Spiderman. The game is so laggy and slow it's downright unplayable. My S2 ran it so much better. I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me what I can do to solve these issues.

Bahhhh... If anything, you are going to have to mess around with ktoonz kernel. Choose a different governor like ondemand or intelli. Let us know how that works out. You might also have to change a few other things if this does not help. Let me know!

I've messed around with KTweaker a little bit, I've tried setting it to the settings the creator posted and I've tried overclocking and a bunch of different governors. What would be a complete setup in KTweaker that would give maximum performance? Thank you very much for the help!

Ok, so im using Juggernaut 4.1 Rom and wanted to know what the best settings are to use for overclocking? Im Using AnTuTu CPU Master Pro 2.3 to do it. What are the best default setting, charging, screen off settings/profiles to use? Don't want any issues and good battery life! Any suggestions would be great! Thanks a million!

I personally see absolutely zero need to overclock this device. I know that's not what you asked lol but just saying.

Word.
If your on Juggernaut, the bullet kernel is already included and overclocks to 1.67ghz . Unless you know more about kernels than team kang, I'd leave the setting as is.

Yes I know that but it can be overclovked to 1836 MHz so wanted to know. Always funny how people respond with something that doesn't have to do with the topic or what I asked! Anyways any help would be great! Thanks a million!

There's no best setting for every phone. Not all phones are equal. So if you can overclock to 1.8 and your phone is stable, then go for it. Your best bet is to experiment and see what works for you. Just be aware the higher the overclock the worse your battery life will be.

Use an app like Faux clock or SetCPU. Honestly though, I'm using juggernaut 4.1 and I underclock it to 1.2ghz. Everything runs amazingly well still and the battery life is great.

Do a little research before flaming people. Bullet runs below 1.8ghz because that speed level is stressful for the phone and results in no added improvement.
If an experienced developer builds something you don't have a clue about, why would you want to change their settings?

I noticed that after flashing Foxstar 1.4 with the Synergy kernal, that games were VERY slow. For example Temple Run is very very laggy and so was angry birds. So i reverted back to stock. Any help?

well the only thing you can do is either try re flashing following the directions to a t or flash a different kernel.

Temple Run has been lagging for me even on Faux's newest kernel (ultimate edition) with Juggs 5.0...I don't think this first version is very well optimized do be honest (of Temple Run, I mean), especially considering that everything else I run is perfectly fine (and my phone generally feels snappy as hell).

Btw alcohol was used to create this. Might be flammable.
Awesome, is there a slight rundown of what this has to offer over stock?
well, it may or may not be faster/more battery life. its a test kernel to find build method and make sure things are going to work before putting 1000s of lines of code changes in
Sounds good. Flashing now, will test as much as I can.
Will test also thanks

So far it seems to be running well. Run Quadrant and it is using Eco mode as my scores varied by 2000. Don't care about scores just the feel.
The governor is ondemand and uses 1134 alot more. Which is nice not seeing 1512 mostly so battery should be better.
Do have a question though. Do you want us to test different governors? If so, what's the preferred program?
Thanks joker!! It's great to finally have a kernel to play with!!
edit. Decided to use Set CPU. Seems to be working fine. I take that back about using 1134. Guess it just happened to be the speed of choice by what I was running. Still mostly 384 and 1512. And of course Deep sleep
This has worked fine in my testing Bluetooth steaming and calls work without issue. Camera works so does WiFi. I still see the msm host wake lock but it's not that high. Got 20 thousand in antutu so it seems to work without issue.

I didnt do anything to the govenors on this release. This is mainly a basic kernel close to stock with a couple tweaks.

It won't get rid of wake locks. They do have a purpose, but it should reduce them. Hopefully

So Dont use octest1. It was a test.

What's the point of the UC kernel if one can just lower clock speeds on OC kernel and stockish kernel?

The gpu/avp/mem/cpu/etc etc will be underclocked and undervolted. sort of a "hey we have way way to much phone and everything is designed for slower crap anyways so lets also go slow" kinda kernel

Because these kernels also have libs in the zip, are we OK to just move kernel to kernel?

So far I think staying stock is just as good as running a developed kernel for this particular ROM imho, especially when you want to get the most battery. I use SetCPu and will run min 486 and Max 1350/1404. SmartassV2 and Zen or cfq governors. I don't play many games on my phone, I have tablets for that and they are tweaked as high as I can go and be stable. It's all about what you use your phone for, most times when I benchmark it seems the higher frequency I push my score actually will get worse, might be I'm need to up my voltage, but I don't mess with voltages much. I will follow the developers guidelines for undervolting if I'm trying to squeeze that extra life, but I don't worry about it that much. Best way for me to extend my battery life is start turning things off when they're not needed. All the things I try with my devices I have learned by reading on the XDA forums, and by far the developers for our GS3's are the best and I'm very thankful for all they give up to give us these awesome roms, kernels, and not forgetting about the theme developers to make or phones run fast, operate smoothly, and look great. Without them might as well buy a fruit product, just kidding I would get a flip phone before I would do that. .... This was meant to be a quick reply, just got off a 14 hr work day and I'm just rambling a little, I hope my reply makes sense.

Hello all. I have recently flashed AOKP and I am loving it. My only problem is that the phone gets really hot. And not just on this ROM but on anything other than full stock. Why is this? Is there a fix? My friend told me that installing a custom kernel can help. Is there any truth to that? Thank you.

It depends on what you're doing. Of course using alot of apps or playing games will cause the cpu to run at full speed. Its going to get warm.
No just from texting or using the web simple things

Its a known issue on the GS3.
Don't worry about it too much.
The processor is made to handle heat, and it doesn't come close to failing from heat.
If it really bugs you, you can always try a custom kernel and undervolt and under clock to see how it runs.
My GS3 runs extremely hot playing games, (Real Racing 3 to be exact, and it ran so hot I honestly thought the motherboard would start melting lol) I flashed a custom kernel, undervolted and it runs much much cooler now.
But yeah don't worry about it too much
It was made for that

I would try flashing the KT kernel or any other custom kernel u may prefer and see how it runs with that kernel stock settings and then tweak yo or like from there. Keep in mind all phones are different so some ones else's set up or settings may not work the same for u
