Has any one gotten the the stock ics launcher to work on cyanogenmod or any other custom roms.

I haven't been able to find any 4.x based roms that don't support stock launcher2
How do you get the ics launcher apk?

AOKP has nova launcher baked in as well as stock. I would think cyanogenmod would have both as well. Use your file explorer to go to system->apps and look for launcher2.apk. That's the stock launcher. If it's there then it's just a matter of clearing defaults in app settings, hitting home, and choosing it as your default launcher. You can always download any ROM really and pull the apk from it. I'd post it but can't from my phone.

Hi,
We all know that stock launcher in JB is soo smooth and fast.
And we all know that popular launchers (Nova, Apex and others) are not yet updated to run on JB or to run as smooth as stock JB launcher.
What are your experiences with 3rd party launchers on JB?
Are you planning to use stock while those 3rd party launchers are updated?
Any other houghts?
Good luck!!!
For me, Nova Prime is smoother than the stock Jellybean launcher.
Stock is by far the smoothest.
Apex is laggy especially in the app/widget drawer.
Same experience with nova.
I'll stick with stock for now.

But the guy above says Nova ir smoother. How come?!
I've noticed in other forums (outside XDA) people say the same about Nova (it's same smooth as stock JB).
I'm a heavy Apex user.. and I don't want to switch to other launcher. What are chances Apex dev will update his launcher with JB vSync (or whatever feature JB launcher uses)?
Stock.
I have 2 GNex both running 4.1.1 and one with Nova and the other with Apex.
I can definitely say for the moment, Nova is smoother. Especially with transition effects.
However I have been running Atom since last night and damn I'm impressed!
Now if it will only take icons from theme packs....

If you change Nova's animation speeds from Nova to Stock, you'd notice a major improvement in transition smoothness. Hence why I still use Nova.
I usually use ADW Launcher but I tried it on Jelly Bean and it is pretty slow in comparison to stock launcher so I will be using the stock launcher till updates happen to it (and others too).
I prefer stock for now, its super smooth

Stock has some great benefits, like fling to remove apps and widgets, app reflow, etc, but I'm still sticking with Nova. Kevin is updating the launcher with all the JB features, so we'll have JB smoothness with customizations from Nova. Winning!

Nova Prime only because of Unread Count notification (on Gmail, MMS and Phone). Also the backup and restore function has proved very nice to me in a few ocasions

I love apex and reinstalled it as soon as it was updated for JB but its not as smooth as the stock launcher so for now I'm running that and hoping for an apex update.

Yes, I wouldn't touch Go apps with a ten foot pole.

I'll use stock until Apex makes a Jelly Bean version.

Apex for sure.
As an owner of the HTC Desire HD, there was this one rom, can't recall which, which had 3 different types of launchers for ICS. The two that I can remember and testing with are NOVA and APEX launchers. If you want a different feel to your phone, check them out. They have a free version and a paid version.
Nova is the best
A matter of personal taste really; now that I've moved to ICS I am using Apex as well (used Go launcher back in 2.3.x).
I´m using Apex too.

yes, but it is also an alternative launcher for anyone running ics right?
I can pull it from the DHD but I haven't tried yet. Nova is better in my opinion.

Hi, pretty new to the ROM thing with my Verizon GNex. My first ROM I used was AOKP and I figured I would try something new so I just put on Codename Android 3.3.1. I like it so far but one of my favorite things about AOKP was the scrolling "dock" I put this in quotes because I am not sure the proper name for this. It is the thing above the Nav Bar. I loved the fact you could add multiple scrollable docks to put app shortcuts there.
Does anyone know if this is available in CNA or if there is some sort of app that does this? If not any other ROMS out there that do it?
Thanks!
That's a launcher feature. Get Nova or Apex Launcher from Play Store.

I am using a Samsung gs3 gt-i9300 runing PA 4.5beat2 and I would love to install the Samsung s3 touchwiz stock gallery, calendelar and some others apps. The PA 4.5 beta 2 is a kitkat . I also don't mind if its a sgs5 apps
Samsung apps require touchwiz framework, so there is no way
