I have a LT18i, Android 4.0.4 with build .431 and it is rooted and has a locked bootloader. I have looked everywhere for a way to install clockworkmod recovery on it without flashing a custom rom or kernel, but it doesn't seem possible. Next, I tried a clockwork based recovery but only found DoomLord's recovery. But it had LT26i or Xperia S listed as the device so I'm not sure if it would work on mine. Will it? If not, is there any other clockwork based recovery I could install?
try the CWM Auto Installer on Google Play
Download pvyParts' Xperia CWM Auto-Installer from the market. That should give you access to CWM.
Do keep in mind that it's been reported that the phone doesn't charge if you switch it off; it tends to bootloop. It works fine if the phone is on though. Pvy will be updating the app shortly.
This works well if you want to take Nandroid backups and (or) flash update.zips.
And if you do plan on flashing custom kernels, you would need to unlock your bootloader. For custom ROMs, you're limited to Stock based ROMs till you do decide to unlock your bootloader.
Cheers!

Thank you for your reply. I found a thread about Pvy's installer but there it was stated.that it would only work on Gingerbread 2.3. It wasn't stated so on Google play though. So are you sure it would work on Ics 4.0.4?

Trust me, it works. I'm using it on my arc on ICS 4.0.4 .
And the only problem of using this on ICS was mentioned in my earlier post. I'm quoting it below.

Thanks for making the application pvy. I installed it and it worked perfectly except for the charging issue. But I wonder what would happen if the battery got completely drained and the phone switched off? Just curious to know since it wont charge when it's off.

Just plug in the charger and power it on. There shouldn't be an issue.

Hi everyone:
First of all, i have a xperia play R800i.
My problem is, i wanted to install the android 4.0 rom on my phone, but i dont liked this so much, i losted all my apps, it wasn't working fine, so i wanted to restore it, when it was done (after flashing 4 times with the flashtool) the phone worked fine. but it was the release firmware, so i went to update it, but after this update the phone never booted up, the only thing he is doing is vibrating, it dont care how long you are pressing the power button, the only thing what the phone is doing, is just vibrating. I was trying in my flashtool to install other firmwares, but nothing worked ):
Can i fix this problem?
Can you get into recovery?

I have installed the Ditto (Note 3) ROM. I tested the V4 RC version, then the V4 RC2 and now i have the V5 version. With both of the 3 roms i have the same problem.
When I turn off my mobile and put the charger on, my phone turns on its own so I cant charge my phone while it's turned off.
Is there any solution for this?

You have to upgrade to ND3 bootloader if you want to charge your phone wile it's turned off. But i don't remember the consequences of upgrading ...
Thanks, someone who knows a bit more about it please tell me..

When upgrading to a Knoxed bootloader, you cannot downgrade bootloaders anymore (as far as I know), only upgrade, so you cannot go back to older versions of Android. I am still in MJ5 even while using KK roms because I might change my mind and flash back to the older ones.
And! Warranty will be voided (unnecessary if warranty is over. xD)

I'm on mobile now so can't copy paste you a direct link but look at my signature where it says JellyKat FAQ's click on it and keep scrolling down where you'll see Version 5 under that I have uploaded ND3 bootloader flash it via pic Odin do remember it's Knoxed bootloader meaning warranty will be void and you cannot downgrade back to 4.1.2 only to 4.3 is possible. Good luck

Hi dear xda members,
My phone was rooted out of the box when i purchased it via amazon, i went ahead and downloaded FreeGee and installed CWM. everything went smoothly but on the next reboot, the phone booted into recovery and i was happy to see the CWM their, but now, its stuck on recovery. No matter what i do it keeps booting into recovery.
Pushing files via ADB works, i tried to flash cm11 with ZV8 radio, but still it boots into recovery.
Did any of you guys had any experience like this ? is my device bricked ?
Thank you.

I don't think so. If the H-Boot was updated along with the lollipop update that HTC released, you might have to S-off, I guess.
(I didn't keep a note on what the H-Boot version was in the 4.4.4 rom).
