Has anyone gotten wifi tethering to work in the stock 4.3 ROM. I'm using the Deodex version that was recently posted but I can't get wifi to work. The Sprint wifi that worked previously in the Rooted Stock ROM (4.1 I think) worked fine but now it asks for a SIM Card. I tried to download the latest version of Wifi Tether but it doesn't look like that is working either (starts with errors and nothing connects)
Does anyone know the right settings to use for Wifi Tether to get it to work or what the latest wifi/hotspot option is?

Hi guys,
The first thing I did when I got my Nexus is root the phone and install the wireless tether for root users. It worked fine the first few times I ran it, but now whenever I hit start tether it starts up and mentions I should check the error log. At this point the tether has failed to broadcast a network even though the app thinks it's working, and everything is ok in the error log except these 3 steps:
Setting ad-hoc mode
Setting essid
Setting channel
These 3 flag as failed, I have tried other wifi tethering apps and get basically the same result where they won't start up or they start but fail to broadcast.
My wifi works fine, I can connect to networks via wifi without any issues, but I'm really stumped as to why the tethering has stopped working.
Anyone have any ideas? I'm running the stock ROM still as root while I wait for a good port of the forthcoming CM9, so if someone wants to suggest a stable, fully working ROM to flash in the meantime that's fine too
An update, I flashed a couple of different roms and this issue has now persisted accross all of them. Nobody has any experience with the same problem?

As far as I'm aware yes, it is also failing to work with other wifi tethers (have tried barnacle tether which does exactly the same thing)
I'm starting to think it might be hardware somehow, but other than this the wifi works fine for connecting to networks.
I have the note 2 rooted stock rom cant get the wifi tether to work. i am running jb 4.3 everytime i go start wifi get a message say errors here are screen shot of messages whats happening.. anyone know how to fix this problem

I'm rooted and after I flashed 4.3 update my wifi won't turn on and wifi tether won't work. Did you find a solution?
no offense, but a quick search you would have found out that TrevE Mod WiFi tether does not work 4.3, at least on stock roms.
I've read you can use the native hotspot with a odin flash hack, but need to be on a deoxidized stock rom. There's a thread on it, but I don't know where. There is a link in the thread on TrevE Mod's WiFi tether and in one on the threads in Q&A on TrevE Mod's Mod not working in 4.3

Hello, I need some help please. I have just installed the slim bean rom on my samsung s3 from sprint. I have used wifi tether for years prior to this i only had one problem prior to when i changed phones. But i managed to get it working. But now i can not get it to work. I have went to the newest version to the 2.1, I can get to where it loads with no errors but it does not broadcast, I have tried installing different scripts, to see if it will work in the background but still no luck. I have read all the android websites with issues and i have tried every setting that has worked for others and i still can not get it to work. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am running stock Jellybean 4.1.2.
My tablet is able to see and connect to the WIFI network created by F180L tethering feature (used stock feature, but also tried several WIFI tethering apps from the market), but there is no internet...
Anyone else had this problem?

Hi, I looked before posting and couldn't find and post about the APP WiFi tether router workaround for lollipop, I did everything I can to make it work with lollipop and nothing, so I had to downgrade to kitkat and now is working fine. I'm not using any costume rom, just rooted my phone. Any ideas or a rom that can make WiFi tether router work perfectly fine? Thanks
I am using it on a rooted fob6 stock rom just fine, at least a gig daily for my tablet. Did you use the settings they suggest?

I was using WiFi tether router on rooted kit kat without issues. I upgraded to stock lollipop and root. I can confirm that there was an issue I had where the router app drained my hotspot data from my plan after i flashed srock lollipop. I did find the solution. the developer suggested that we are to uninstall the tether app. reboot. reinstall. that solved it on my end.
