Hi all, I have registered on this forum to ask you help for a problem that occurs when this afternoon I was flashing my Sony Xperia S.
On my Smartphone was installed the original Sony firmware 6.2.B.1.96, and I've decided to root my mobile.
To do this, I've found a tutorial that it say, in a point, I have to change the kernel, so I downloaded it (the link was available on the webpage) and i flashed it with Flashtool.
After the end of the process, I could see that my phone wasn't rooted, so I've tried to downgrade to Ice Creme Sandwich and root my Xperia with ICS.
After the cange of the rom, my phone is unusable: it's impossible to turn it on, and if I plug it in the computer, it start directly in flashmode, and after (about) 10 seconds,on the phone's screen appears a triangle with an exclamation mark, and near a smarthphone.
This change of phone status is continuous like a loop.
I don't have idea about the solution of the problem, so I would ask you: Is there a solution of this problem?
Thank you so much if you can help me!
P.S: Sorry for my bad english, I'm an italian student
P.P.S: If I have chosen the wrong section of the forum, sorry.
Errors that appears on Flashtool when I'm trying to flash my phone with a stock firmware:
12/002/2013 17:02:34 - ERROR - (X10flash.java:523)
12/002/2013 17:02:34 - ERROR - (X10flash.java:524) - Error flashing. Aborted
Did you follow this tutorial?

If yes, then it should work though, if you have followed the instructions..

Hi everybody,
yesterday I tried installing zohaib00010's Xperia S rom v7 on my arc and I'm stuck on the first step. I tried flashing LT18_4.1.A.0.562_NCB.ftf as it is a base rom for that custom rom but during flashing with flashtool I got this message:
25/016/2012 10:16:49 - INFO - Flashing system.sin
25/019/2012 10:19:07 - INFO - Ending flash session
25/019/2012 10:19:07 - ERROR - ERR_SEVERITY="MAJOR";ERR_CLASS="MEMORY_CLASS";ERR_STATIC="HASH_VER";ERR_DYNAMIC="Final data verification failed";
Now my phone won't boot up, when I try turning it on there's an image of a phone next to road sign with exclamation mark on it.
I tried another version of that firmware but it's same... I noticed that my windows 7 always installs SEMC drivers from windows update and somehow doesn't recognize original flashtool drivers.
If any of you guys have any ideas please help. :-\

Hey, I just tried rooting my Xperia Arc with this guide --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1874801
And after flashing the first firmware, Its stuck on bootloop and i dont know what to do, It won't let me proceed onto flashing the device and im panicking heelllppppp
Don't panic
When you stuck in bootloop. You have to flash stock rom by flashtool, or "repair device" by PC Companion (Rather flashtool) - and than try root again
or leave it, if Your'e scared modding again
btw. use "search" - many threads are solved
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sitesearch.php?q=unbrick arc
Where can I download a stock rom? and also how do I repair on Pc companion? I've gotten so many phones into bootloop in the past and never known what to do
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1653188
---> Stock roms
for example
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24467321&postcount=1 -> http://hotfile.com/dl/157157011/a0b35ba/LT15i_4.1.B.0.431_Generic.World.FR.7z.html
how to fix by PCC http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1692172
but like I told, flashing by flashtool is more friendly and easy I think (put the ROM in "FIrmwares" click "bolt" icon, select "flashmode", select firmware, waiting for notification, plug phone and waiting for fresh system
Thanks I actually fixed it omg;D Thankyouu :3
my pleasure :victory::good:
I own a Sony Xperia Arc (purchased on June, 2011) and it doesn't work anymore without any explanation.
When I turn on the phone, it appears Sony Ericcson brand and then, mobile network carrier brand, but then, instead of appearing home, it appears again Sony brand and an infinite loop goes on.
At first,I tried to solve the problem with the Sony tools like PC Companion and Sony Update Service.
Then, I tried to do a hard reset (back + menu and power), but nothing changed (the same bootloop).
What would you do now? Would be useful trying to flash some firmware? I have been reading posts about flashing firmware, bootloader unlocking and rooting Xperia Arc, but I don't now really what would be the best move now.
For your information, I haven't applied any kind of official upgrade before, neither I have tried to root the phone or flash any custom firmware, so I had my phone as it came from factory (with Android 2.3.2). Moreover, I haven't installed any suspicious application, just typical apps like whatsapp and so on. By the way, the phone haven't suffered any crash neither wet.
I have attached the log I have taken when I try to turn on the phone (I get the same log again and again, at the end of the log it reports some problem with memory, I hope it's not a hardware problem):
Try using the Flashtool and report back. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1304634

İ have lt15i firmware. Try to install lt18i via flashtool and something broken and aborted. I tried to install LT15i_4.0.2.A.0.42_(1247-1041).ftf via flashtool. It said flashed but said power on turn on unknown sources and devices. When i try to power on it boot loop in Sony Logo.
I try to use CWM mode. Wipe and flash some data. Couldn't find user data files. Installed a Custom ROM when a boot animation appear its boot again to SONY logo. what should i do?

In the end, I could fix the problem flashing the latest firmware with Sony Update.
Anyways, thank you very much for the advice
Xperia arc problem
Hello, i have a problem since i tried to update my xperia arc to the last kit kat build, i flashed the kernel before installing the new rom, and now it simply reboot after legacyxperia logo, and when i tried to go to recovery menu it enters but doesn't show any options, only show the hat with the refresh symbol. If you can please help me.
Thank you, have a great day
You guys are beautiful!
I had an old Xperia S stuck on the Sony logo and was able to recover it. So I decided to document here what worked for me. Maybe it can help the next one which may have a similar problem.
What finally worked for me was begin by uninstalling everything: PC Companion / Flashtool / sa0103 drivers I installed via Device Manager / etc...
- Then I installed Flashtool 0.9.18.6.
- After that I disabled the driver enforcement via the Advanced Startup method. Command line method I did before did not work.
- Installed the drivers from Flashtool. I checked Flashmode / Fastboot and all Xperia S I could find
- Then I was able to flash the 6.2.B.1.96 rom I found somewhere. I tried a 6.1.A.2.55 that I downloaded but that didn't work
- After ~20 minutes it was flashed.
I don't know if the ADB driver I downloaded from Android developer website made a difference or not. What I know it made a difference was using the old Flashtool because I did this exact process with the latest version and I didn't work.
I'm attaching my last log from Flashtool so maybe you guys can compare to yours.
That's it! I spent around 3 days reading not only the Xperia S subsection here but searching for all the errors on other device's subsections.
Hope it can help someone.
Thanks a lot guys
