You guys are beautiful!
I had an old Xperia S stuck on the Sony logo and was able to recover it. So I decided to document here what worked for me. Maybe it can help the next one which may have a similar problem.
What finally worked for me was begin by uninstalling everything: PC Companion / Flashtool / sa0103 drivers I installed via Device Manager / etc...
- Then I installed Flashtool 0.9.18.6.
- After that I disabled the driver enforcement via the Advanced Startup method. Command line method I did before did not work.
- Installed the drivers from Flashtool. I checked Flashmode / Fastboot and all Xperia S I could find
- Then I was able to flash the 6.2.B.1.96 rom I found somewhere. I tried a 6.1.A.2.55 that I downloaded but that didn't work
- After ~20 minutes it was flashed.
I don't know if the ADB driver I downloaded from Android developer website made a difference or not. What I know it made a difference was using the old Flashtool because I did this exact process with the latest version and I didn't work.
I'm attaching my last log from Flashtool so maybe you guys can compare to yours.
That's it! I spent around 3 days reading not only the Xperia S subsection here but searching for all the errors on other device's subsections.
Hope it can help someone.
Thanks a lot guys

Hey, I just tried rooting my Xperia Arc with this guide --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1874801
And after flashing the first firmware, Its stuck on bootloop and i dont know what to do, It won't let me proceed onto flashing the device and im panicking heelllppppp
Don't panic
When you stuck in bootloop. You have to flash stock rom by flashtool, or "repair device" by PC Companion (Rather flashtool) - and than try root again
or leave it, if Your'e scared modding again
btw. use "search" - many threads are solved
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sitesearch.php?q=unbrick arc
Where can I download a stock rom? and also how do I repair on Pc companion? I've gotten so many phones into bootloop in the past and never known what to do
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1653188
---> Stock roms
for example

how to fix by PCC http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1692172
but like I told, flashing by flashtool is more friendly and easy I think (put the ROM in "FIrmwares" click "bolt" icon, select "flashmode", select firmware, waiting for notification, plug phone and waiting for fresh system
Thanks I actually fixed it omg;D Thankyouu :3
my pleasure :victory::good:
I own a Sony Xperia Arc (purchased on June, 2011) and it doesn't work anymore without any explanation.
When I turn on the phone, it appears Sony Ericcson brand and then, mobile network carrier brand, but then, instead of appearing home, it appears again Sony brand and an infinite loop goes on.
At first,I tried to solve the problem with the Sony tools like PC Companion and Sony Update Service.
Then, I tried to do a hard reset (back + menu and power), but nothing changed (the same bootloop).
What would you do now? Would be useful trying to flash some firmware? I have been reading posts about flashing firmware, bootloader unlocking and rooting Xperia Arc, but I don't now really what would be the best move now.
For your information, I haven't applied any kind of official upgrade before, neither I have tried to root the phone or flash any custom firmware, so I had my phone as it came from factory (with Android 2.3.2). Moreover, I haven't installed any suspicious application, just typical apps like whatsapp and so on. By the way, the phone haven't suffered any crash neither wet.
I have attached the log I have taken when I try to turn on the phone (I get the same log again and again, at the end of the log it reports some problem with memory, I hope it's not a hardware problem):
Try using the Flashtool and report back. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1304634

Xperia arc problem
Hello, i have a problem since i tried to update my xperia arc to the last kit kat build, i flashed the kernel before installing the new rom, and now it simply reboot after legacyxperia logo, and when i tried to go to recovery menu it enters but doesn't show any options, only show the hat with the refresh symbol. If you can please help me.
Thank you, have a great day
Xperia Arc

Bootloader Unlocked and Rooted
Guys, tried installing a custom Rom Omega on the 3rd.Nov,a couple of days ago.Followed every word the OP on how to install.Aroma popped up and made some choices and then rebooted into recovery. When phone switched back on only the SONY logo was there and it kept on repeating.Made some enquiries from members. Was advised to flash original firmware which I did. When the phone booted up,this time SONY XPERIA and kept on repeating.Been all over the place searching for a way to overcome this problem.
Came across an article on google:Recovering dead/bricked phone xperia arc -in that article there is mention of taking the generic global 4.1.B.0.587.zip file and extracting it to a .tft file and flashing it onto the device. This I am unsure of as I have never come across a .tft file.I've been unable to go into the main screen to make any changes to enable USB Debugging,Unknown Sources and MSC Mode if need be to flash again because when I tried doing it again the process aborted.Even tried to Relock bootloader so that SUS or PCCompanion would recognize the device
so that I can be able to get out of this mess I created.Unable to find a solution.Need urgent assistance.
You have to download the .ftf file (it's in the zip) on to your computer and flash it by using a tool called Flashtool.
Also flash stock kernel back or advanced stock kernel.

try this tuto it worked for me, same case as mine before, always make a back up at CWM before doing anything

Try downloading flashtool, ang make sure you download the .ftf file add it on flashtool den follow the onscreen instruction

seems like u have FLASHED wrong kernels, what are your Exact devices? E6xxx ?
tell me your devices , so that i can guide u better
when you downloaded latest FTF, why did u extract? there is not such need!
download full ftf file via FLASHTOOL ! / the last button on flashtool menu is Xperifirm , click it, select your DEVICE MODEL (accurately) from LEFTSIDE menu, then on the rightside, download LATEST rom as per your country (if country is not listed then Central USA / Europe , or MENA Arabic also) will do just fine.
after FLASHTOOL download and prepare your ftf file, connect your device in FLASH MODE and FLASH this rom (wipe data/kernel/system/setting/userdata ALL)
NOW --------------- since you have BRICKED/ bootloop fone try this
PRESS POWER+VOLUME up key for 5 seconds --- AS SOON AS FONE VIBRATE - RELEASE FINGERS INSTANTLY!!!!
if it restarts and goes in to boot loops then
PRESS POWER BUTTON + VOLUM UP KEY FOR 15 SECONDS --- THE FONE WILL VIBRATE 3 TIMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHILE ITS VIBRATING SECOND TIME, RELEASE YOUR FINGERS AT ONCE!!!
THE device will sleep.
now try connection your device for flashing in flash mode for FLASHTOOL
this trick / methods is tested by me for xperia z (older device),
tell me what happens with your z5 plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

i have E6833, i was tring to root it via this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-...ck-root-xperia-z5-premium-sony-stock-t3335974
but after installing supersu it faced softbrick and didn't boot so I tried to flash stock .253 tft file which i had downloaded from other sources , with flash tools but it stuck on modem.sin and i have to brought it to the shop to have it recover by box .its not the first time i'm facing the problem with flash tools , it always stock on one step for about an hour, the time before the last, i was trying to update it by flash tools and it stucked again.the xperia companion isn't working either -_- it says that it cant connect to network to find the update ! i checked the firewall and internet explorer internet options tab , but nothing worked for me ! my flash tools version is 0.9.22.0 build on 16-5-2016 . the last time i tried 0.9.18 version cause i saw somewhere that maybe the problem is related to new version but it didn't worked again, at the end what i think is that there should be zip flashing method from custom or stock recovery for flashing stock Roms too ! flash tools sucks in my case -_-

2. what were the sources u donwloaded the ftf file?
3. better to download ftf file via flashtool itself (last button is Xperifirm, click it, find SATSUKI dual E6833 and version of USA/ MENA ending .253) and flash it
4. while flashing disable antivirus, I used SAMSUNG galaxy usb data cable (if that makes difference) ,

My Mobile of Xperia XA1 Died while trying to downgrade firmware via Xperia Flashtool.
it shows Red light only while usb connected or being charged. (Hard Bricked as i know).
Mobile is recognized as USB Serial Device in Device manager.
i Read somewhere that if i can get a SP Flash tool compatible Firmware Image and Scatter file, i can try to reflash.
i tried to find it over internet but no luck with Firmware or Rom and Scatter file.
While these many threads in XDA Community i hope that someone can make it for me if possible and i can try that.
Any Help or suggestion is welcome.
(Nearby Sony Service center says they don't do this mobile anymore and i will have to go to a city far far away for next center)
Phone is out of warranty. Bootloader was untempered (still locked i suppose) , not rooted , not customized, no custom recovery.
Phone's camera stopped working and even factory reset didn't helped so was trying to flash the factory stock rom. and it didn't go well.
Tried: Xperia Flash tool, Xperia Companion ( Can't boot to Fastboot via Vol down)
i Don't have any Box to proceed with.
Model: Sony Xperia XA1 G3116 (India)
