who cares about 4.3. it doesn't change much for our phones. Bring on 4.4.
The only big thing that I care about in 4.3 is trim. But it doesn't matter now that joelz released 4.4 gpe. That rom is godlike; its so sliiiick

Lol this is the exact reason they should have just skipped 4.3 and went straight to 4.4. Most people won't even to be able to tell the difference between 4.2.2 and 4.3. It's such a minor update that just about the only thing we get is TRIM. Like the other member said.. Who cares really? Most people don't. A lot on XDA do (even though we'd much rather have Kit Kat) and I actually do for the sole reason that it will give our great devs official Verizon base to build off of. Guys like andybones, santod040 and Hawknest have been absolutely killing it with stock based ROMs already. Hawk has been porting 4.3 from other carriers for the longest time so I'm really looking forward to seeing how much better those ROMs will be without have to port a ROM that wasn't made for the device. Should be good times.

That ROM seems a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde type thing for people. I tried it and lost data and had to reflash stock to get it back. Others it has ran swimmingly for. My One seems to absolutely hate Kit Kat bc any 4.4 roms I run 4.4 murders my battery life. Actually I need to clarify that by saying any AOSP 4.4 roms murder my battery. Hawk's 4.4 sense rom is amazing on battery life.
My phone just indicated there was an OTA. I'm running Bonestock and I think the actual OTA is disabled, but I'm wondering if Verizon is pushing the 4.3 update now? Has anyone else had it pop up?

I'm on version 1.3, which is based on 1.10.605.10, but I got the OTA message over thanksgiving for bumping to .15 and haven't gotten them since. But today, I got a message again. So it could be for the .15 push again, or possibly because of the timing, the 4.3 update.

Oh don't worry it's not the 4.3 update. That's most likely still not coming out until, knowing Verizon, when android 6.0 Chocolate Covered Anything releases. I think it's completely idiotic for them not to just wait for 4.4 when most US carriers are slated to get it by end of January next year. That's a month and half from now. They should have been concentrating on getting us 4.4 the entire time and then *gasp!* VZW might have been the first to get 4.4.
Verizon Wireless: Making idiotic decisions and charging out the a$$ for everything since forever.
Well they'll miss another self imposed deadline because of Verizon, but 4.3 is coming.

From what I'm reading, we may want to wait for 4.4.3 or later. A lot of bugs apparently are being reported. I do agree that it's silly to release 4.3 if 4.4 is coming next month, especially since it's not including Sense 5.5.

Why? The official 4.3 is coming very soon, there is no point in wasting effort porting the other rom, especially with a leaked copy. If the other carriers get the update and we don't, then it is worth it. However, we will not have significant development until s-off exploit is released. Thankfully this is not a verizon specific problem.

The rollout will probably happen when Google officially announces Android KitKat. I believe this will happen within the next week. In the meantime, I suggest we all wait patiently as there isn't enough difference between 4.3 and 4.4 as to warrant throwing a riot.

I don't seem to recall saying this was a minor update. I said that the difference wasn't drastic enough to warrant throwing a riot over. There are some minor UI adjustments, some under-the-hood adjustments, and a hidden feature that enables a new JIT compiler that will probably replace Dalvik at some point. The new JIT does break the emulator though and that is why it is hidden in developer options. This is by no means a small release but it's not like we're stuck on Gingerbread still. From some of the people around here, you would think that JB is worthless and unusable now that 4.4 source is out.
Also, before you call someone out for posting incorrect info, make sure that their post actually contains incorrect info.

I'm using the current 4.4 build. The ROM itself is running extremely smooth. However, if you choose to flash I STRONGLY suggest that before initial boot, you make sure to hit "Yes" next to the message that says to disable auto-recovery flash or whatever it is. This prevents the ROM from overriding your custom recovery with the stock one. I accidentally hit one of the 10 "No" options and now I cannot boot into recovery and ADB/Fastboot pushing a custom recovery doesn't work.
I'm sure I could just revert back to the 4.3 factory image and start again but I don't think it's worth the hassle since the ROM is working perfectly. So for now I am using the 4.4 ROM as is and just waiting for the factory image to come out so I can Fastboot flash that and start on a clean slate.
But again, the ROM is definitely smooth and worth flashing. I'm loving it.

I'm a tad more optimistic than my fellow S3 owners. Yes, it may be a long time before we see a 4.4 rollout but I don't think Samsung nor AT&T are stupid enough to not give their best selling smartphone at least one more update. More than likely we'll see the next iteration of Android out on Nexus and GE devices but that's how it was when 4.3 was released and we were all stuck on 4.1.1. My guess is anywhere from 6-12 months until we see a Touchwiz 4.4.
We'll get 4.4 about 6 months after Google released 4.5...
According to this, Verizon has approved the 4.4 update, and we should be expecting the OTA rollout "shortly".

Update is live and rolling out! See my post in the main general thread. My wife is downloading now. I am in SW Missouri. Have fun!
Do we know or suspect anything yet in regard to
1) keeping root through the 4.4 OTA?
2) the negative impact of accepting the OTA on a rooted device running TWRP? I read something today that seemed to indicate that you needed the stock recovery to accept the OTA, so perhaps this is a moot point.
Related Note:
Why do I care if I am rooted? Why don't I just wait and flash a custom Sense 5.5 based on the new OTA firmware when it becomes available? It's interesting - I keep going back to my stock, rooted, original rom after flashing multiple roms available here on XDA, even some very good ones. HTC has done a pretty darn good job with Sense 5, and while I had no qualms leaving 3.6 behind for stock AOSP Android when available, I find myself missing Sense features when I use AOSP or GPE on my One. I've messed around with a couple of Sense custom roms, and I keep returning to the original firmware. I appreciate the ability to remove apps entirely through TiBu, so keeping root is good, and I reserve the ability to flash a custom rom if I get itchy want to, but I look at the fact that we are soon to receive an OTA, and I am torn. I know that it will be likely a matter of hours before someone Santod posts a stock rooted Verizon 4.4, but I've already set mine up exactly the way I wanted it. It's funny, after spending a couple of months not flashing new roms, both on the last month of my Bolt when there was nothing new and in the first month of having the One when 4.3 couldn't be rooted, I got really annoyed at the amount of time I was spending setting up accounts and preferences and mods and whatnot during the last week of flashing custom One roms. /rambling

Not to make you worry or anything, because chances are you're fine...but, it took my One about 3 months to develop camera issue. I'm not sure if they started putting updated hardware in the later builds or not. They very well could have and you'll be good to go.

Yes, camera hardware changed at least 9 times before they got it right.

I have read a few articles that it was getting delayed. Definitely happening, just maybe later.

No, I fully expect it to take a few weeks after the end of the month. Verizon is slow with everything.
Although this is typically true, they got 4.4.2 out pretty darn quick after the 4.3 update
update M7
I locked my bootloader and did RUU to make it stock 2.10.605. Thanks to Scotty for method.
Now a 617MB update is coming thru after I prompted in Setting for an update to software.
Am Verizon in S. Calif.

If this is correct, then we're ready for tomorrow:
HTC executive Mo Versi has revealed that the Verizon HTC One (M7)’s Sense 6 update has received technical approval and should begin rolling out tomorrow, May 28.
What's new stuff we are expecting in 4.4.3?
4.4.3 was only a post from one source. The OTA is in fact 4.4.2.
