might want to check again where you're tapping. to get the spinning K to appear you're tapping on android version which is just an easter egg. to get dev mode tap on build number at the bottom of list.
remember android version i.e. 4.4.2
Build number KOT49H

Make sure you are on the PRIMARY profile on the tablet (it will be first one on the left when you go to log on). Tapping the build number while in the primary account will enable Developer Options option.
I have had this problem from the start on stock KitKat 4.4.2. Tapping Build Number hundreds of times would not bring up Developer Options (tapping Android Version will get you to the spinning K). After learning of "Developer Options" from the play store, I was finally able to get into the settings... kind of.
I am always using a secondary profile (not a restricted profile) instead of the main profile that I set up for my family on the tablet. When I opened the Developers Options app it did it's job and got me into the Developer Options, where I got an error saying "Developer Options are not available for this user."
So I switched to the first profile I created on the tablet and clicked Build Number 7x and I can now enable DO.
I'm sure someone has already discovered this (and credit to them) but I have not seen it posted anywhere on these forums, or on the Internet, after weeks of searching. I hope this helps some poor lost soul like me.
Please hit the Thanks button if this helped.

How do you use the phone pad after making a call? I dial a number and then need to input a password but can't get back to the key pad?
Thanks..
Which ROM are you on? I am currently able to do so with AOKP and was able to do so on Evervolv Preview 7.
EDIT: I misread your post. When the call is active, press the icon with a 3x3 grid of squares and one square below the grid. Picture is worth a thousand words:
http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/10-18-2011-7-53-15-PM1.png
Very bottom left icon in that screenshot.
Thanks, but I don't see any thing in your png file.
I have tried both Evervolv Preview 7 and aokp_inc_build-23
I see accross the top
a phone, call log , and contacts
across the bottom
search, phone, delete key
when I enter a number and dial I see
a back key and speaker.
That is curious.. I have the exact screen you see in Android Central's screenshot on both ROMs (just updated to build 23 this afternoon, it still works). I'm not sure why it's not working for you...
Is there a setting that I could be missing?
I looked all over in the phone app and didn't see anything there at all; even tried using "Menu" whilst in call, that didn't do anything at all.
I've seen several questions on it and people downloading an app to do it. No need because the Developer Options are still on the phone they just need turned on.
Step 1: Setting -> About Device
Step 2: Tap Build Number
Once done the Developer Options appears in the More Tab
I just learned about it the other day just messing around tapping on the tab where it shows the os build number where the jelly bean guy pops up after tapping I just started tapping the different lines on that page and walla.
More like seven tap build number lol

Hi,
I updated the Samsung firmware/software (or whatever it's called) today from 4.1.2 to 4.2.2 Kernel 3.0.31-2212686.
I have noticed a couple of niggling little differences in the operation of my phone and am wondering how to change these back to the way they were BEFORE I updated.
1) When typing my PIN code on the lock screen, the phone vibrates. It never used to. How do I change it back?
2) When I receive a text message, I now get a preview of the message on my lock screen. I never used to get those either. How do I change it back?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Go to Settings and disable Vibrate on touch.
To remove previewing message, go to settings from inbox and by the end you can uncheck preview messages,

Hi DMJoh, and thanks for your input.
I did finally find the setting to undo the preview messages, so ... YES!! Thanks for that! Much appreciated.
Unfortunately, I'm not finding the Vibrate on Touch setting. The update seems to have changed about all my settings and put them into four categories: Connections, My Device, Accounts, ...More, with subcategories under each main category.
I cannot find the Vibrate on Touch setting anywhere. I even looked under My Device/Lock Screen as I thought the settings would be there what with all the vibrating happening on the lock screen, but it is not there, either.
Any ideas? Thanks

Actually, what you mentioned is your phone vibrates when you touch keypad for entering PIN code to unlock right, actually this is not happenong with me.i tried it in an older 4.2.2, if u are on the latest B1 update, i am not sure how it works, i reverted back from B1 as its almost stuck all the time in my phone, if its okay with you try a factory reset, but am not sure this will solve your problem.

I just want to disable double tap to wake the screen
For marshmallow
It was not difficult to find.
Type in call dialer
*#546368#*855#
if you have diffrent model than D855 type yours instead 855
Go to TOUCH then go to KNOCK ON/OFF option and choose what you want

Thank you ! I thought it was still 3845#*855# for Marshmallow, I typed several times this code but it did not work. thanks again
It was changed with MM. No problem, it was quick and easy.
This did not work for me. I cannot get double tap to work. I just bought (yesterday) this phone because I liked it on my G2. Today it updated to Android 6.0 and double tap is gone.
I can not understand how the LG can make such a bull**** of not putting an option in the menu. My device turns on the screen and activates the camera in my pocket when I wear wide shorts. It's really annoying. LG G3 D855p - 30a.

So, for a Verizon VS985, would I enter, in the dialer, *#546368#*985# ? I did that, but then what? If I hit the dial button, the phone actually tries to dial.

Did you tried this? I don't know is it works. Many google search results show sites with this code:

Yes. I tried what I posted. It did not work. I ended up going a different route and was able to access the full hidden menu.

Can you tell me what you did to access the hidden menu?
I am having the same issue - since the upgrade, I haven't been able to use the double tap to wake up my phone. I've also tried the dialing codes mentioned previously, and I get an automated message saying the number I called is no longer valid. I would really like to get my double tap to wake function restored!
Thanks.

I have found the solution! Anyone else having this problem, go to the Play Store, and get the free app called "Activity Launcher".
After you open it, select All Activities.
Scroll down to Settings, then KnockON.
There will be two. Open the first one.
This is your KnockOn setting. If the box is checked, it will work. If it is unchecked (as mine was), it will not!
A quick and easy fix. I am so happy to have my double tap function back!!!
My phone is a Google Pixel 3XL running Android 10. I recently rebuilt it and now, every time I long press the power button (for example, to screen grab), there are two, super-annoying pop-up windows which say "GPay: Add a payment method" and "Gerry: view all emergency information".
Question: What must I do to make these windows never appear again?
Thanks.
Just press screen shot. It won't take a picture of the g-pay, or other overlay pictures.

This. The Gpay and emergency is what Google added. It's the default behavior. Nothing is wrong.
bobbyphoenix - Correct, nothing wrong but man are those pop-ups super-annoying. Anyway to get rid of them?
