[Q] CM Bugs - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Hi. What are the bugs on CM roms? I know camera stuff and HDMI, what else? All these threads are so messy that I can't find it... Also what is the best CM9 rom? I've tried FXP but home button was not working... I love CM9 (even more than 10 because of smoothness) and I'd like to use it... AOKP/AOSP rom will suit too
Thank you.

cm11 Known BUG:
[1] video playback is still a problem, and some players are available.
[2] may restart black screen, after waiting some time to recover.
[3] art mode gapps may fc.

Dude,
Out of all the current Cm builds the Semc-U Cm10.1 seems to have the least amount of bugs.
Everything works camera, HDMI etc.

[Q] can we expect stable ics or jelly bean in the near future?

will it be possible to have a stable ICS or jelly bean rom in the near future or does it seem quite impossible.. when i say stable, i mean usable for daily use with camera, camcorder, video playback, fm radio, bluetooth running properly
Hello,
on ICS devs have already managed to get camera, camcorder, video playback and bluetooth working properly. and you can get fm radio working with an extra application.
on JB devs have got camera, and bluetooth working, but the camcorder and video playback still needs work. nothing is impossible when it comes to android. hope they will figure it out soon.
I've tried Paranoid android by Yasir and it worked well. For the camcorder and video playback, i installed 3rd party apps and worked just fine. But i don't really use those stuff that much.

I've tried couple of ICS rom lately, and one of them became my daily rom. Camera and video recording works good. 2 weeks time frame is far too long for them to be able to fix these issue. I'm using JB right now as my daily rom, i never experience any crashes.
and which ICS rom was it plz?
Just take a look at Q&A section, almost all issue threads are about ICS and JB roms.

I had this problem too but I think it depend on the ROM you use. I switched now to Sandvold ICS and had no problems until now. With MIUI ICS I had always reboots after taking a picture.

I flashed Sandvold ICS once but removed it a day later. I don't quite remember why, think it was some crash problem.
However, I have tried Nikez ICS & JB, Elk759 JB, Spazedog ICS/JB. All of these ROMs are working fine for me without any problems or stupid crashes. However, a little faster ROM is needed.
Answer: no.

The rom you mentioned works on me as well, but I opted out because of the response (with MIUI ICS opening SMS takes 4 seconds, Titanium Backup 30 seconds to load the backup list..)
for me Spazedog ICS and Nikez Lente are the best opinions. The only real problem is the camcorder. For watching videos im using mxplayer.

camera from one rom to another...

This might be for the dev forum but I can't post due to newbie restrictions. At any rate, I've been using the unofficial CM9 ics rom and have had better results using the RC2 builds than the RC3 and later. However, the RC3 builds have a working high def camera and the RC2 cams are lousy, poor focus etc...
Is there any way to just get the camera drivers and the like from the newer rom and install unto my older rom. I really don't like the RC3 -- I get a multitude of weird errors, bad digitizer response, wifi drops, etc... and the built in kernel just doesn't play nice with my OC/UV stuff.
I just want the working camera. Any tips? Thanks!
:fingers-crossed:

which one is better? AOKP or Quarx?

I want to know AOKP or Quarx is better on 4.1?
I know Quarx solved data connection bug but don't know whether AOKP also don't have such bugs.
Also, seems that not native tethering is workable since CM9.
AOKP is based on Quarx Roms
All Bugs Quarx has are also in AOKP.
Some People say AOKP is faster but i would say theyre both the same
AOKP is built from Source. Some bugs can be the same, but not ALL the same.
-- TOPIC --
I preffer AOKP. It seens faster to me.
If you don't need JB, you can try Salad Bar or WIUI or JIUI, those are great ROMs too.

btw, any bug list on AOKP now?
i keep track on Quarx but can't find a full bug list to compare AOKP and Quarx.
actually there are 3 main bugs i concern:
1. data connection bug - should be 90% solved by Quarx, still sometimes doesn't work. but i don't know the situation in AOKP yet.
2. wifi/bluetooth tethering - not working in Quarx, don't know about AOKP.
3. can't play live video on quickplay media based apps - this one may be not many foreign developers tried. i tried myTV apps from tvb.com, which can't play live video but work in video on demand. i'm using Quarx built and CM9 and CM10 both have this issue.

Which of the three Cyanogen10 is better?

Hello, I have seen the forum that there are three Cyanogen10:
CyanogenMod 10.0.0-RC0 marvel/marvelc ALPHA0 By: modpunk
Cyanogenmod 10 builds (WIP) [MARVEL] [UNOFFICIAL By: benjamingwynn
CyanogenMod 10 Nightlies - modpunks work By: dudeman1996
I tried the first and second and I see more or less the same, the only thing there was a camera and another yes
What you recommend me for one day? Currently I have Cyanogen9 Alpha 7
thanks
Same here, I tried all the three and they're full of bugs. (FOR ME) and the biggest problem was the Htc Ime Keyboard didn't work on jbs. So I'm back on CM9 Alpha 7.
I tried Ben's and Modpunk nightlies...I couldn't get past through the boot animation due to I think bad building for Ben's ROM....
I was currently using Modpunk nightlies, it was working great except for the fact that Link2SD won't work with the ROM. I think I gotta get a different compatible kernel for that... (any suggestions?) Other than that, gapps is a pain to work with on this ROM especially with Cam, and low space to even flash them!!
cm10 is full of bugs .. i dont think its worth bothering with for daily use
i doubt if this will ever work, I think this is too much for the WFS
I'm running benjamingwynn's cm10 and it is absolutely smooth. The few main bugs are not annoying for me (gps and camera not working). The real pain is that some apps can't be installed (in my version) because of sd card permissions. But I use this ROM every day.

but the data connection is always active?

AOSP, CM, etc... Question?!

Hello everyone, I'm not a noob, I'm not saying this to show off, but I'm not by any ways, I'd like anyone here that knows enough about this to give a quick answer to my question. What's the state of the roms based on the ones mentioned in the title, it's not that I don't want or know how to check, but I work from Monday to Saturday all day so I don't have much time to test stuff even though I love to. The only thing I wanted to know was basically what are the known bugs etc. Thanks in advance!

FYI, I am on Sprint.
For Sense ROMs i like Viper (not much bugs that I can find), for AOSP I like Liquid Smooth (tons of features, but drops to 3G and stays there unless you toggle Airplane mode. I believe a lot of AOSP ROMs have this issue.), for CM I like Gummy ROM.
But, I have only been testing out ROMs for 3 weeks or so now.
Anyone else wants to give me any more recommendations? Or tell me what the bugs are atm on AOSP or cm based roms? Thanks

The biggest bug I've seen is most/all aosp speakerphone mics don't work, as in you can talk on speakerphone but they won't hear you. In PA I had a bug where I couldn't search chrome properly, and I've seen a few bugs with themes, but that's all I can think of if you stick to the big names (CM, AOKP, LS, PA). Personally using CM11 nightly with furnace kernel with fantastic results. Hope this helps!

Thank you (pressed thanks already)
Thank you too
One of the major bugs with AOSP was encryption of data. It "encrypted" the phone itself and asked for password so that nobody could get in. Apparently it was fixed but I still see some threads where people complain about receiving this prompt for password in the AOSP ROMs they flashed.
This was the thread with the fix for the problem. [FIX] Data Encryption Problem AOSP Roms
Here a user posted a summary about the status of CM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53953807
Kinda disappointed to hear that duo camera doesn't work...even though it was to be expected. (I guess that's the case on all AOSP roms)
