what is ramdump and many people says u r lucky to have s=off phone what is benefits of s=off phone
Benefits :
1:Flash different recovery via recovery (if the dev supported it in his zip)
2: install a rom via recovery without flashing the boot.img via fastboot (if the script to flash boot.img is in the rom, which is rare. So still need fastboot)
3: downgrade and upgrade of the hboot/bootloader is possible
4: put back the bootloader to LOCKED instead of RELOCKED but that goal is also not yet achieved.

As you can see in the title I have a lot going on.
I followed the correct steps to unlock the bootloader and it was successful as at one point I saw:
***TAMPERED***
***UNLOCKED***
Right off the bat I don't understand the reason for the "tampered" flag, but moving on...
For the record here is the other info below exactly as I see it:
EVITA PVT SHIP S-ON RL

After trying to flash different version of CWM Recovery with NO luck, I was stuck in a bootloop. Rebooted to FASTBOOT, erased cache, stock ROM loaded right away. At this point, every time I tried to flash ANY recovery (stock or CWM), I'd get the following message:
"This build is for developement purposes only Do not distribute outisde of HTC without HTC's written permission. Failure to comply may result in legal action."
And then it would proceed to a bootloop. I can't even use "FACTORY RESET" or get to the stock recovery, haven't been able to since the beginning.
At this point I thought to try "fastboot oem lock" and try again. That's precisely when I started to get this at the top of HBOOT:
***TAMPERED***
***RELOCKED***
***Securty Warning***
(Security Warning seems to come and go as it pleases at different times when accessing HBOOT, very awkward)
The interesting thing is, through all of this (as long as the phone allowed me to or as long as I erased cache through fastboot), the stock ROM (Rogers in Canada) actually works perfectly fine. I can boot into it no problem. But now I'm stuck with this odd issue inside of HBOOT and I don't know what to do to make it work. I found a bit of info suggesting that I could have a developer version of the phone if I'm getting that message following a recovery install. Keep in mind though this wasn't shipped to me, I got it from a retail store. Very odd.
Any insight regarding this would be greatly appreciated. I'm not bricked at the moment so that's nice, but I definitely would like to figure this out.
Thank you!
Can I ask you where did you get this phone from ?
I have gotten these messages alot when i had bricked my phone a while ago ...
Security warning always occured in HBoot when my battery was below 30%
Legal notice showed up when i tried booting custom Rom with a stock Recovery.
As long as it is relocked, try using a matching RUU. Make sure Battery is charged as much as possible. Also see Thread "Disaster Recovery" here in the forums

Evita is the code name for HTC One XL.
Really eh? I got it from Best Buy Mobile but it's a Rogers device. Advertised as the One X but yeah on GSM Arena it actually is the One XL. I'm guessing it's more or less exactly the same as the One X...for custom ROMs and what not...hopefully. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong!
In any case, I'm going to try to flash a shipped RUU (if I can download it from filefactory, error messages so far) then try to flashboot CWM again and see how that goes.

Before anyone gets to be smart ass, I have already tried searching forums. Searched google for quite a bit as well. Spent couple hours on the subject matter but still couldn't fully understand everything so that's why I am asking questions here.
I have gotten hold of a HTC one X which is acting up. Freezes up, screen goes all haywire, things get mixed up, screen banding. From what I have gathered it is on a custom rom ORDROID. I want to simply make it go back to stock rom and if not possible then to cyanogen rom. But the priority is to get back to stock rom and see if it fixes things up. I am a Galaxy series Owner where things r not complicated , HTC is not my forte. Please just guide me to a simple procedure it will be very appreciated.

I believe phone is rooted and recovery is installed as well.
Quick reply with simple instructions and minus the sarcasm will be loved
PS: Any unbranded GSM English ROM will be fine.
well since you're rooted already and have cwm , I'd suggest you simply try and flash another Rom , there's a guide how to flash them easily in every roms thread by dev who made it. shouldn't be too hard , just don't forget to erase cashe. gl.
You say you 'got hold of it', which implies it wasn't yours from new. Check with whoever you purchased it from as to which original firmware it was on

Your first sentence made me laughing when I read it, and yes it really starts getting out of control with those smarties (at least on HOX forums).
Sorry for the OT, now to your problem. I'll give you some guidelines and you could search the rest, which I don't consider it as a problem in your case.
* If your boot loader is unlocked, lock it first (you could find the guide here, and also posted many times on JB threads).
*(Skip this part and move to the next one) Download your RUU from here http://www.htcruu.com/?dir=Endeavor or from here http://www.filefactory.com/f/7cc7b2fbdd03c031/ (provided by [email protected]).
* I think this RUU is the right one for your, http://www.htcruu.com/securekey.php...Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_298897_signed.exe
* Install it.
That's all & Good luck.
Happy Christmas
Note: if you read the word [email protected] it doesn't mean you are rooted.
I relocked my bootloader and tried installing your rom but it is not installing, also i can't boot the phone anymore, it goes back to Hboot screen, did i miss something, was there a file to load before relocking the bootloader ?

you dont need cwm to install the ruu. actualy you need to relock the bootloader if it isnt allready locked.
then you need to find out the correc ruu for your phone
fastboot getvar version-main this command should tell what version is the correct for you
i have a question. this phone is on stock rom, and as far as i understand we are flashing a "custom" stock rom.
but what is the difference? why does htc make a rom with major problems like these? and can we fix these problems better than htc?
hope this rom fix this problem, cuz its very annoying.. :s
As some of you may heard in the news, HTC is going to change its slogan from "quietly brilliant" to "bold, authentic and playful". My theory is that a future update will change the splash screen so the slogan on it to fit the devices look to the new marketing frame. Here is where the dev's and hackers can maybe start and search for an exploit. Maybe I'm wrong, but at least it's an idea since the progress in S-OFF development has literally stopped. Feel free to correct me
I won't .....
Edit :
And why is it that when an already s-off phone locks the bootloader it still says "relocked" what difference needs to be written to the phone to make it say locked. If we can't do that there is not much profit of a S-off device......in flashing and installing roms i mean.
Obtaining a "locked" bootloader would be the best, at least for warranty purposes !

Because the hboot.img needs editing, so the options are locked and locked, instead of relocked and locked. That's not difficult, don't think anyway.

Forgetting the warranty side it's handy to be able to download, install ROMs and nandroids all on the phone without requiring a pc to do fastboot commands + when a new firmware is out (like when jb was being rolled out) there is no waiting around for your cid to be supported. All minor but usefull. I'd still like to know if it's possible to get back to locked though.

Hi,
I've been through many threads before about similar but I couldn't find any that I could understand on the topic.
Basically I bought a new HTC One X on eBay to replace my previous one (which is also stuck in a boot loop - although I suspect due to physical damage).
All was going well until a request to install a 2nd system update, which I did after downloading it. As I was about to go to bed, the update must have completed, as I heard a buzz as the phone restarted. And then it restarted again, and again and so on, constantly on the white HTC screen.
The phone is absolutely stock with no custom ROM and I can return the phone, however the postage will take some time so that's not preferable.
The Power/Vol screen reads:
ENDEAVORU XE SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT- 1.12.000
CPLD-None
MICROP-None
RADIO-2.1204.135.20
eMMC/CPU/HW secure boot: disabled
MODEM PATH: OFF
Connecting a USB reveals "Failed USB Master mode"
Any help is greatly appreciated - thank you very much.
I dont think I know a different solution then resetting your phone to fix this, but there is one strange thing:
HOW WERE YOU ABLE TO GET S-OFF?
This is a thing the whole community is working on since the device has been released and nobody was able to achieve it easily. So you better dont return your device, because its special.
Btw: On this screen my device shows ENDEAVORU S-ON
I dont know what the XE means, but it hast to be something special, because most owners of the HOX dont have it.
I guess the update broke something and it may be beause of S-OFF.
If you're not familiar with rooting and custom roms at all S-OFF is actually a bed thing as it doesn't ask for signatures when dangerous commands are executed !
Failed to open error is because you have the usb cable connected. And since you have s-off.....flash a JB ruu and it will be up to date

With regards to the JB RUU, where would I best get the latest one and to flash it, I have to do those CMD commands whilst USB connected I presume.

Unfortunately when I try and put it into recovery it simply goes into the white boot loop screen, powering it down in any way does the same when it has any charge and the factory reset doesn't work either.
I've been considering sending it back to the seller to be repaired, but my first attempt failed due to restrictions on sending things with lithium batteries.
Hello community,
Today I tried to flash a new rom on my htc one x (endeavoru)
However everything went right, after doing all the stuff I noticed I accidently flashed the wrong file + moved the wrong file to the sd-card,
result: I can boot in bootloader mode but with booting regular the screen just stays black. I read somewhere that I just need to flash another rom (a good one this time ;D ) and the problem is fixed, okey but problem is, I can't access my sd-card and the adb method doesn't work (adb push..) also all fastboot commands work, except for the adb stuff, like fastboot can detect the device but adb can't. I'm really getting depressed now because I've been trying to fix it for like 5 hours now and still doesn't work. So if someone can help me with this...
My system stuff (that shows up in the bootloader):
endeavoru pvt ship s-on rl
hboot-0.43.0000
cpld-none
microp-none
radio-none
emmc-bootmode: disabled
cpu-bootmode: disabled
hw secure check: enabled
modem path: off
(oh and i used this tutorial: wwwDOTandroidgadgematicDOTcom/2012/11/how-to-install-pacman-android-412-rom-htc-one-x.html (yes I know wrong htc, don't say, I'm feeling miserable enough))
I really need to fix this..
Thanks for your help all.
Oke, best thing to do is upgrade the hboot because its very low and you cant run JB roms on that !
If you can post the outcome of :
Fastboot getvar version-main
Then we can check for a ruu or firmware to upgrade you and get you to a nice JB rom

I love you (not gay) thank you!
LOL !
Well follow this :
Download this ruu.exe
http://bugsylawson.com/files/file/1...12-radio-2120413520-release-274900-signedexe/
Put the phone in the bootloader and relock the bootloader :
Fastboot oem lock
Keep the phone in the relocked bootloader and right click the ruu.exe on the pc. The menu will take you through some steps, just follow and let it flash the whole phone back to stock.
After that you let the phone search for updates. Do not stop before you are sure you are on 3.14-3.20 software !

Boot to the bootloader if possible ? Then execute this script from the fastboot folder
http://db.tt/aLqeTpPO
It will continuously reboot the bootloader and charge the batt little by little, leave it until you reach at least 3800 mv. Then try again.

hmmmm, v5.8.1.8
Pretty old one i assume. I hope you can flash. If you can flash a new recovery then you can charge in there the battery.
Try to flash this one
http://db.tt/SPXdFfPw
If it still says battery to low then you have to charge it from the bootloader with the script !
