[Q] Cyanogen to Stock - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hi there
Days ago I installed CyanogenMod and now I want to return to the stuck version, I downloaded the files SPH-L900_L900VPALJ1_L900VPALJ1_L900SPTALJ1.md5 and L900VPUBMK4_L900SPTBMK4_SPR.md5, I would like to know to to use this files, I supposed I can do it with ODIN.
My Baseband version is L900VPAMA7

Its a exe that extracts into a temp folder. Its nothing but ODIN app, once ODIN program starts, connect your phone and it should show up as yellow box on it and hit start , thats it. I did that on 8.1 so pretty sure you are missing something else. Are you sure your drivers are installed properly? On my laptop as soon as I put my phone in download mode, the drivers got installed automatically and the yellow box came up within no time.

Indeed my friend I was doing something wrong.
I forget about the download mode, as soon as I did it, ODIN recognized the Device.
I hit start after that, a couple of minutes ago, but the program is not responding. There's CPU activity with the process so I'll wait a couple of minutes more but if nothing happens I supposed will try again.

For some reason try it again and was taking to much time, copy it over to my new SSD and after a minutes worked just fine. I don't understand the issue as the other HDD is just fine, event is a brand new 7200RPM, but anyways after ran the software and after waiting some minutes the update went just ok. After that I used KIES to update to the newer version.
Thank you for the help

Wipe your sd card and start over is usually will fix any weird bugs. Or as stated in the release thread by 100 different people, delete your data.img file, your cache folder, any old folders associated with the old android build. Usually old conflicting files are the culprit.
i delete all the android files but didnt work. will try formatting the sd card tho
ok. so i did task 29 updated my rom. formatted my sd card. downloaded and installed the newest build. and same problem. first boots it loads the top task bar give it a few seconds. vibrates and reboots.
I also had this problem and its super annoying
But I managed to fix it.
What u wanna do is not UPDATE with the MJG start up tool
Just select which Rhodium I have for keymapping and hit run android.
Try that cuhz that fixed mine.
Make sure u do what was mentioned onj the top post to clear the SD card and format it FAT32 LONG VERSION(uncheck quick format)
Keep us updated

You shouldn't need to run the update at all if its a new package that you're using. The zimage/modules update breaks the build currently. (Update in the works). You can still use it to update footfall and initrd.

Hey reef don't know if your aware or not, but i think the reason is that when they use the update app, the modules aren't being extracted properly. i think that's whats causing the system to crash after it boots.
they should be like 876kb or around that and when they use the update app, they are like 6-8Mb in size.

Can't root, computer won't recognize phone

So I wanna root my phone using CWM3, and I know I have the drivers installed on my computer, but every time I run the root, it says the phone isn't connected. Sometimes it'll take me to the part where it says "running exploit," but it just hangs there for forever. Any help? Tried on two different computers already.

Done and done, and still nothing. Tried on both my Win 7 laptop and Win XP desktop
I've been having this problem too for the past few weeks. Nothing works. I tried to Odin back to the prerootedEC05deo.tar and I get to CWM 2.5 but can't flash any ROMS cuz they say in the OPs not to use this method. Anytime I run one click root it says arm5 bin missing. I've had my phone rooted since the beginning with much ease but not recently. I've tried all the steps here and on every other forum with no luck. Id appreciate any help in this matter. TIA
OP: get a non-stock cable.

[Q] ODIN freezes at factory.fs

Hello all,
This is my first post to XDA and I'm having some serious issues. I have searched eveywhere to try and find an answer but with no luck. I was trying to install chris41 odin efo2plus rom/kernel, and odin froze at modem.bin. I didn't know what to do. I unplugged the usb cable, pulled the battery and tried again. However, this time it froze at factory.fs being installed. I am using the new ODIN (1.82). I have tried running as admin, running in xp sp2 compatibility mode with admin, I've changed USB ports, and even changed USB cables, although I've never had a problem with ODIN and the Palm Pre cable that I've been using. I'm stuck. My phone won't boot, and I can't get it to ODIN anything. Even tried to ODIN DI18 stock, and still freezes at factory.fs. I was on Bonsai with EXT4, and chris41's rom is RFS. Don't know if that has anything to do with it? I am completely confused. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
Just keep trying bro... if it worked before it'll work again Odin is just fussy...

Try running it without the battery in the phone. Open Odin plug phone in without battery and then go into download mode. Put your files in appropriate place and run Odin with only auto reboot checked. I have three epics and one of them will actually not work at all in Odin unless I have the battery out. Worth a try.

Ok, well, lets start at where the files are supposed to go. Every rom I've ODIN'd before, I just put the tar in the phone section. Never put a pit or anything else with it. Is this correct? Second, usually when I ODIN a rom, it comes up with a little progress bar on the phone showing how far along the process is. I've tried now about 20 times after the first ODIN, and I haven't gotten a progress bar yet. Should I be worried about that?

If you don't wanna use odin then I recommend odin'ing back to ec05 and root get cwm3.1.0.1 and flashing the ef02 zip that we recently got....
Sent from my Evo Killer using XDA Premium App
After following qbking's video and putting the tar in pda instead of phone, and putting the pit in, it now fails even earlier in the process. The status bar comes up on my phone, but as soon as it goes to write cache.fs, it fails. ODIN either comes up and says FAIL in the red box, or ODIN completely crashes. And, same thing as before, I've tried diff USB, rebooted computer, in xp mode, with admin, without admin. I'm starting to think my phone is a brick.

HAHA it says dont use it in video in annotations i mean come on already as well as in noobs thread its for debugging purposes and will eat your battery alive.
Please read things this is why people have issues and wonder why and then complain its so simple to read by using your eyes
Not being angry but just trying to point out that, this is why noobs either brick or get terrible results.
I got it. I don't know why, but for some reason I had to have Re-Partition, Auto-Reboot, and F. Reset Time all checked, as opposed to only Auto-Reboot. I'm now on EC05. Thanks all for your input. I really do appreciate it.
it may be your usb cable. Are you using the factory samsung cable? if so that was the reason why most of my odin's were failing. Try a generic usb cable from monoprice or something and it may help you the same way it helped me!
Edit: forget it

DO NOT FLASH DEBUG KERNEL
EVEN IN VIDEO it says do not flash.
You think you have a good battery but it would be better if you didn't flash it
Dont call someone a troll if you don't wanna read 100%
Im simply trying to explain and help you out. Several people told you don't flash the debug kernel were all just trying to help each other out.
One more thought!
I realize this thread is long dead but i found it using google looking for a solution to this exact issue, so i will add some input from my own personal experience.
Make sure you are using a fully charged battery. Also if you have multiple batteries try swapping between them. I have 2 counterfeit and one authentic battery, using the counterfeits causes problems in odin for me.
Also you may need to repartition if you are coming from a newer rom that is not BML

[Q] Bricked w Download Working Need Help

Tried to install CM on wife's Epic. Mine Works
Failed and could not recover
Attempted to return to stock using instructions from here
Tried every suggestion from multiple posts
Reloaded every file, rebooted numerous times, etc.
The results are identical...phone goes into download mode, Odin is ready, connection made, then Odin locks up. Have waited various lengths of time up to 30 minutes. It is just locked up. See screenshot.
Am I missing something? Is there an even more basic way to get response from my phone? Or should I just go to Sprint?

[Stock Odin Rom]{How To Use ODIN} attached. N900TMI7& NB4 (4.4.2) (How to use ODIN)
*****regarding the 4.4 update if u flash in Odin your boot loader will be updated .... Meaning no going back to 4.3***
Here's the stock odin tar downloaded from samfirmware. Mediafire dl link much faster than hotfile http://bit.ly/18Ll149. 4.4 nb4 link
http://www.mediafire.com/download/esadia6synn8s6j/TMB-N900TUVUCNB4-20140305155920.zip
Fyi.. Odin will not factory reset. If you want to start fresh factory reset in recovery before the Odin flash.
1.. Download .tar and Odin to pc (move to desktop)
2.. Extract .zip N900TUVUBMI7_N900TTMBBMI7_TMB-1.zip
3..Run odin as administrator (left click on odin.exe)
4. Put phone into download mode..With phone off press Volume down + home and power (press power button last) ..now press..volume up to enter dl mode..
5.. Connect phone to pc... Wait till drivers install. when completed youll see a yellow ID:COM box light up...
6.. Click on pda and open N900TUVUBMI7_N900TTMBBMI7_N900TUVUBMI7_HOME.tar.md5. ( If you did like i said it will be on you desktop. )
7 Patience.........
When finished it will reboot. on odin a green box should come up saying "passed"
People that havent used Odin before i would suggest using the odin i linked here. Its kinda dumbed down. .. No re-partition options .. If not ***** MAKE SURE TO NOT CHECK ANYTHING ELSE EXCEPT AUTO REBOOT*****....

Ditto, also having the same issue. One of the solution was to install the latest Play Store apk, but obviously we have the latest. Then I found another thread here on xda where it apparently went away the following morning.
Seems like it ain't working on my S4 either even though I was able to install an app couple hours ago.

Seems like you quoted me before my edit. lol. It's also not working on my S4, so it might be on Google's side from what I'm experiencing, but I'll wait and see the response you get from him.

Well i have my SG3 on Sprint, works fine there (older version of playstore) and root wasnt by Chainfire(dont think at least)

Seems like a reboot fixed it on my S4. I'm able to update apps on that one now.
Also just tested with the Note 3, I rebooted and was able to download an app. I still think it was on Google's side, but that's only an assumption or it could be because these two devices are using my primary gmail account.

I didnt reboot, it just started auto updating stock apps. Looks like it might have been Google.
Either way this Odin works. thanks OP for hosting it on mediafire, hotfile always takes forever for me. :good:
As this is the first Odin firmware tar I will move this to development
Future releases would need to go in General.
