The video decoding in ICs rom in Cyano 9 by erwinP and others is not smooth
Its laggy and not as good as cyano 7
Anyway to fix this ??
The only rom i've found to have HW accel is Rootbox 4.2.1 Other seem to not have this feature. Is just a mispell or it's really not HW accelerated ?
P.S. What i understand from HW accel is games, OS and app can use the integrated GPU to accelerate processing.
I want someone that had purity rom(4.3) or a CM10.2(the newest nightly) to confirm that the hardware acceleration is fixed and back to track,
same as it was with 4.2.2 because i had cm10.2 a long time ago probably the 3rd nightly when it just came out and i noticed videos lag
like hell(bsplayer/mx/dice) so please someone confirm that it was fixed on purity or newest cm10.2 nightly because i don't wanna waste my
time installing them and finding out that its not fixed again then roll back to cm10.1.... its annoying as hell.
//P.S Don't confirm for videos under 4 gb, i need a 4gb+ mkv file 720/1080p because that's when you really need the acceleration.
Vanir is doing it as well (4.3).

Well, i just installed the latest Vanir nightly, then installed MX Player and the v7 NEON coded, did a h/w+ test, and it lagged
I tried the same .mkv file with the same player/settings on 4.2.2 cm10.1 and it played smoothly, I tried purity rom, same thing
Tried even cm10.2 nightlies, same thing. I guess we're doomed.
Loaded stock 4.2.1 as of right now and working flawless.

So still no ideas why HW video decoding is F*%$ed up in 4.3?
Anyone running 4.3 stock, factory image from Google, do you experience any issues with HW video decoding? I'm wondering if the issue is specific to AOSP compiled ROMs.
What is the best way to get Google's attention and help with this?
I think you can post a bug, but I can't remember where it is.

already tried several different kitkat roms for gnex maguro ( even tried those based on CM11 )
all of them had problem playing mp4/mkv files smoothly when hardware acceleration is enabled
software acceleration works ok.... but my units easily runs hot and runs of out battery
already tried MXplay , Dice at Bsplayer
up
Hello, I've noticed on my Galaxy S4 mini Lte a little funny issue, on games build from rockstar like a Bully and Gta san andreas, it runs better on 4.2.2 stock, When I upgrade for kitkat, lollipop, marshmallow, nougat, I facing some lags on maximum quality. I think is the engine Opengl ES2.0 presents on Jelly Bean 4.2.2 makes runs better without problems. Have any chance for the devs here to make a separete package to invert the drivers of GPU on Nougat ?
