Does anyone of you has problems with overheating when playing games or its just me? I tried with B102, B118 and B122. All of them had the same problem. I think that the thing that it is so thin makes it heat much.
Mine overheats as well, but I don't play games though. It happens with heavy usage, which is quite often for me.

Mine gets hot but I wouldn't call it over heating as it doesn't crash. Overheating implies too much heat causing problems with its function.
This phone does overheat and may cause malfunction on GPS. GPS may failed until you shutdown your phone and keep it cool a while.

I use b122 and skype. Just a small warmth. Nothing major.
If the phone is heating too quick even over basic stuff like moving over the home screen, then do a factory reset.

It will, this phone can run smoother and better than is does right now. And it will.

I don't think it will: I'm running 4.4 on a Nexus7 and performance is quite similar to 4.3. I haven't run any synthetic benchmarks but I don't feel any considerable improvement over 4.3. Unless Huawei includes some optimizations of their own, I don't think you'll notice much difference on 4.4.

Then let's hope for some optimizations from HUAWEI. The easily overheating must be solved.

I found my Nexus 7 switched off after idling for hours today and my battery level dropped from 100% to around 75% after around 7-8 hours with wifi on.
The battery graph was zigzag like with a few sudden increase of battery level within minutes. Sorry that i forgot to capture the image.
Moreover, the device was crazily lag and the screen turns on 10 seconds after I pressed the power button on and every requests took a lot of time.
After reboot, I decided to backup everything and flashed the stock nexus image and see if the problem still exists.
After a few hours of usage, I checked the battery stats in setting and it noticed that Android OS was using more than 75% of battery while screen just used about 5-10%.
I also found the device was hotter even if I am playing less cpu and gpu demanding games, like Coins Dozer.
Web browsing, switching between apps are little bit lag than before.
My device has restriced profile, rooted without installing any custom roms and kernels and is protected by a leather smart cover.
Is there anyone experienced this before? Thanks:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

My problem does not exist now. I am not sure if it is because I switched off google sync.
I don't think it is related to the smart cover
This problem has happened again:crying:
Anyone can give me some clues to solve it?
I have the battery monitor widget and system tuner widget wakelock for a few hundred times but I have them installed on my Nexus 4 also which does not affect the battery drain by Android OS.
I have really no idea on what happened:crying::crying:
Please help

It does help after wiping but this issue comes again after few hours. It makes my devices laggy and the antutu and quadrant benchmark scores are much lower than normal ones.
Is there anyway to resolve it completely?

Guys, i got good news. It is android o.s related. Wasn't the hardware after all.
I'm using aokp builds from Dev forum, with Franco kernel and the issue is suddenly gone.
Looks like the people at aokp reverted some commits which was causing this.

Hi all,
Just got my P6 a couple days ago and I have noticed that it seems to drain quite fast (for me more than I would like anyway). It also gets pretty hot on the back when using WiFi and I thought maybe these could be related (heat = energy) and thought maybe I have a faulty unit. Here is a screen after a full days usage. You can see that I basically used it very little. WiFi was off most of the day. Data was on. Bit of browsing. Bit of reading. Maybe literally 3 or 4 phone calls. Running latest stock Jelly from Huawei with (I think) 1.6 EMUI.
Is this normal in your experience?
Are any ROMs/launchers better for battery life?
Any hints for getting more life out of it?
Basically I have a week to take it back if I think it's faulty so looking for some comparisons!!
Thanks in advance.
B.
Umm.. You should try the B125 ROM. If the problem still exists, bring it back to repair. The hot backplate is "natural" with some hwkiller apps/games at this phone.. But 'cause of wi-fi I never had this problem.. The wi-fi on my P6 is always on, as it losts the IMEI and the only way I can use it with internet is wi-fi.. I had heat problems only with HQ MMO RPG games. I think the GPU is the one that eats the battery and heats the phone.

Hmmm....
I dont play any games. Does this look like an unusually fast drain time? How long do you get from yours? Would try a different ROM but I'm a bit worried about flashing and bricking. Can I go straight to the B125 from stock? Not very experienced with android. Is B125 a different kernel?!
Thanks.

The rom that comes from factory had heat and battery problems. B125 is far better rom, and yes it is stock and has kernel changes too. Download and instructions you can read from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2566453

less likely that its about being a faulty unit. And more likely that you have battery draining applications/ connections etc running in the background. While the latest rom will for sure give better performance and battery, but if there are battery draining stuff in the background, you need to adjust them for sure.
On B125 my battery drain was 10% in 3Hrs nd 35mins.
I tried many tweaks found in the forum to reduce lag, lower heat but my G4 still keeps crashing while playing 3D games. Is it hardware problem, lollipop 5.1 problem or I got a defect phone? Am I the only one experience this?

Same here, vs986 if it matters.
Not sure what's happening because if it was widespread we'd be hearing about it in every blog.
Mortal Kombat X won't load without wiping data and praying. Others crash on start but will normal run next launch.
I sent WB Games a logcat but I'm starting to think it's the phone.

Crash happens on playing for 5 to 10 mins, becoz cpu or gpu get too hot? I'm not sure...
@kelvinick, Not for me. It's always crashes right away.
On loading a game I noticed the phone immediately starts logging something having to do with the "thermal engine", changes the "wlchg_monitor" alarm to 42c, and the "LCD_management" alarm to 44c.

Do you have a case on the phone? I've had devices in the past that would overheat with heavy use in thick cases.

Hmm well no problems here. If it's happening in more than one game I'd lean towards a defective phone.
First I'd try a factory reset before returning the phone.

Does anyone know why is my Nexus 5X overheating when using it normally?
Whatever I do the phone always gets too hot around the fingerprint sensor, it doesn't matter if I'm browsing the internet or playing any game it just gets hot.
I recently bought the phone and I'm not sure if it's a hardware problem or software since I'm on Android N (DP4).

It's caused by some overheating problems so you can put the big cores off to avoid this problem.
Personnaly I found the device run very smooth without the big cores so they aren't necessary.
So by limiting to 4 cores the device will not encounter any bootloop problem? Or does it still happen?

That's right.
If you play games, you can lower the screen resolution so it will use less cpu ressources to run your games.(to do this just instal an app from the play store).
