I am not trying to rush anyone, just out of pure curiosity, is a MK4 kernel possible? like with Overclock and all those other features? To all the developers currently trying to make this happen, thank you!

[Q] Is it possible to CHANGE KERNEL on stock htc rom 2.3.5 rooted by nitro

Hi all:
I´ve been reading hundreds of post regarding roms and kernels and Im not sure if I can change the kernel to put for example unity v9 or 10 without changing sotck rom.
I want o OC and 2 way recording but I dont want to change rom.
Is this possible??
Thanks in advance.
No problems changing the kernel on a stock rooted ROM.
Just remember you're looking for a sense kernel, not an AOSP kernel.
Flashable from recovery.

I believe you can because i also own I9001 and since there's no proper custom rom for it when the kernel was available, people had flashed that to get init.d support but i'm no dev. If you have clockwork then you can try flashing it if you want...because i never heard of flashing a kernel alone but with the custom rom.
Thanks for the answers.
Now knowing that I can do it via clockwork.
What would be a good kernel?
I was thinking in Unity v9
Thank you
Its really down to personal preference, and how the kernel runs on your DHD.
Last time I was running sense I used Lees, but I don't know if he has call recording.
PS 4ext touch recovery is really nice.

Ok thanks jagdave.
Hehe and thanks for the suggestion.

Goodness or DarthStalker ROM?

I dont want to make this a big debate i am just curious which ROM currently right now seems to run the smoothest and what kernals people are using for them. I wanted to try anthrax kernal and i enjoy the Darthstalker ROM so far but im curious if there are any advantages to the Goodness ROM? Thanks

[Q] Just got my phone after SDS syndrome, have some questions if you could help

Guys I just received my phone after the known problem with the SDS syndrome. My mobo was swapped..
Anyway I am a little rusty since I haven't been into ROMs/kernels lately so I have some questions as to the correct order and/or what I need to do.
I have seen that 4.3 is available through Cyanogen MOD so I am thinking about updating into this.
So I have some questions.
1. First and most importantly is Cyanogen 4.3 a stable release w/o issues? Do you have anything else to recommend (go for 4.2.2 for example)? I know this is personal preference but I'd like a rock stable ROM w/o issues, tested and fast if possible! And what about a reliable kernel? Should I keep stock or use another that you could recommend?
2. I had the swap internal/external memory mod with my previous builds. Is it compatible with Cyanogen or maybe is there any better way that I am unaware of to install apps on SD w/o the mod?
3. Do I need to have something else in mind ?
Thanks in advance for your help and patience.

1.Yes 4.3 is little mature now but not ripe as 4.2.2 are..and yes 4.3 is stable now as far as I know.
I'll personally go for 4.2.2 since these are stable builds now and most of the custom aosp roms are based on 4.2.2..but PAC and Probam(4.3 based) are quite famous now and bugfree too!!
For kernel I prefer perseus or neak in 4.1.2. For 4.3, probam has its own cm modified kernel
2.No idea regarding this coz I didn't used this mod
3.Yes..If u r planning to flash roms then always use sds patched kernel+recovery..

Thanks for the answer. Anyone knows if any kernel/rom from the PAC/Probam has issues with swap/internal external memory?

Kernel help

Hello everyone. I recently rooted my SGS3 and flashed the Dandroid ROM : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2121506
It uses a stock kernel, and I would like to use a different Kernel, one that is overclocked with excellent battery life. However, I am not familiar with kernels and how they work. I am not sure which Kernels I am able to use with this particular rom. I do not want to brick my device, I would like some recommendations on a few Kernels that are compatible with this ROM. Any advice or recommendations are greatly appreciated.
Thanks everyone
This was a very simple question, no one can help ?

You could try our elite lunar kernel. We have aosp, gpe, and sense versions. Feel free to post on that thread if you get hung up.
