Just remember... that if you root without triggering the Knox flag...
Can I flash custom recovery/kernel/rom without tripping KNOX flags?
No, Flashing a custom ROM will trip the flag
No, Flashing a custom Kernel will trip the flag
No, Flashing a custom Recovery will trip the flag
If the knox flag doesn't mean anything to you then you can do just about anything you want to do.... except reset the Knox flag that is.
I don't really care about the Knox flag thinking about rooting. It today with auto root

Hey bricking a phone made me the happiest guy in the world lol.
NOTE 3
Man, can someone give me the safest step by step instructions that are SAFE. I'm reading around ALOT of people complaining note 3 is a hassle, lots of bricks phone not turning on. Lost of data just naming a few. What is the best most safest obsolete way? That I will not mess up by phone. I read and follow carefully but seems it just happens to the unfortunate?
Note tres
Hell yeah its worth it. Ive rooted 2 note 3's. Flash the cf file and whatever recovery you want to use. I prefer twrp on this phone. Takes 10 minutes tops to do both and the phone and process is idiot proof.

I don't know how much longer I can take not rooting my phone. I have ads all over the place, can't delete bloat, can't try different roms. I wanted to hold off for at least 30 days, but I don't know. I'm so use to being in control.
Ok, I'm rooted! But tried to install twrp via goo and nothing read that trwp manager app from app store will install the recovery but I open it and all it is, IS the recovery where is the option to install and stuff. Installing a rom while phone is on is imposible idk how people saying it works? If odin is the way. Then which file do I download? Notice the first one is a .tar file. But the newest one is img and .tar so? Also do I click on PDA to install recovery?

I don't think they'll check that deep into the phones to see if the knox is tripped. My Note 3 is rooted using the "root de la vega method"
This method doesn't trip the knox and I have also flashed it back to stock and reflash the steps just to verify knox status and it's still intact..until I can find a ROM that can quench my flash addiction. . . this is my safe bet . . . in 6months i'll JUMP if a better phablet comes to T-MO. . . .

Its killing me though to have to live with such high lcd density atm

i'm holding off as well...
waiting to see what sort of custom roms appear in the coming weeks before i decide what to do with it...
aside from Titanium Backup, i don't really use a lot of root packages... changing the DPI would be nice, but i can live with it for the moment until the devs get coding
M
I'm holding off for now too, I really like having this phone stock at the moment but if Google wallet comes out for root then I will.
One idea if you afraid from raising flash counter.
Flash pre rooted rom
Use mobile odin to flash stock rom.
This won't raise flash counter.

You need to choose what you want:
1. Have root and forget about OTA`s and Kies and use CWM and PC/Mobile Odin or
2. Stay on stock firmware and forget about root all together.
You can`t have it both ways mate
You will never be able to install OTA`s if you are rooted as you have a custom recovery.
ok still some what a new bee im looking to get note 2 unlock and run it on att..i have a gs3 on att..
i like rooting to get rid of my crap ware on att..but unlock is nice pure TW and i like it..so if i root and theres a update do i just flash the new update ? coming from a rooted stock TW?

Then u can clean bloatware, like gmaps, g+, ChatOn etc.
Hi Ketan, i have a question for you, i want to install the rooted rom but before doing that i would want to take the nandroid backup of the stock rom. Can you please give me step by step guide as to how i should go ahead wih it . Thanks and await your reply.

Will this revert everything back to stock? I mean will root be lost, and Knox reset? I've been reading some posts that just rooting the phone makes you lose the ability to get OTA updates. I actually can confirm as all I did was root, and now checking for updates says my device has been modified, and I can't get them.

Hey thanks for the file saved my ass after a botched recovery install. I hope someone can post this file up on another website because last night i tried to download using the slow (NONE PAY) method at http://www.filefactory.com/file/5u0ud54hxu3l/N900TUVUBMI7_N900TTMBBMI7_TMB.zip
and waited four hrs (at 3am) for the download to fail with a server error after 4.5 hrs. So i felt better to pay the website for their unlimited speed downloads. Well that was a crock of S*** because i still had to wait for over an hour to complete the download. I hope someone will post this somewhere where it can be easier to get so you don't suffer my grief.
I do want to thank deeznutz1977 for the file because without it I would still be stuck in a bootlopp at startup after installing twrp recovery that apparently has some real issues. Thanks for saving my bacon deeznutz1977.

Some people use a Windows based app called kingoroot or king root...but there's an article on xda explaining the concerns with using it (I'll let you Google that if you're curious). So I went ahead and googled "how to root Sprint 4.3" and came up with this article:
http://honai-android.blogspot.com/2013/11/how-to-root-galaxy-note-2-sprint-sph.html?m=1
Had no issues...and was rooted in a matter of minutes.
Just to cover my ass, this is not mine, I did not create this root method, credit goes to chainfire, and I'm not responsible for anything that happens to your phone.

Any root method will trip Knox (if it's installed) That's why you have to root, and remove the Knox files then flash the MK4 ROM so you're still on the MC2 bootloader (no KNOX), but will have the MK4 update.
Better instructions can be found in the Development section...just search for Lorjay's thread. He has it all written out...
The way I did it I downloaded the cm installer I install cm and then I reinstall a custom rom cynergyrom

I have heavily modified the MotoChopper exploit by XDA member drjbliss to handle the new changes to file permissions in JellyBean 4.3+. Because this tool is based on MotoChopper it will likely support the same device list that MotoChopper supports however i have only tested it on the T-mobile T999 & T999L and the i337 .
If you would like to test it on other devices it should be fairly safe to try as it should either work or fail, of course testing anything like this is always at your own risk and i am not liable for any damage to your device, self esteem and so on. If you do test it on your device, please report your results here so that I can try to fine tune it if need be.
For this current version you will have to have TWRP installed on your device.
if it works for you don't forget to hit the thanks button! enjoy.
all instructions on how to use are inside the tool. this is for windows users only.

So sorry I need to edit the main post, I have been working on so many different projects, we did not test it on the M919 it was actually tested on the i337. If you are talking about the flash counter though this will not trip the flash counter, however flashing twrp will trip the binary status, and possibly the Knox counter, I need someone to test it, but I can't tell you how to correct it if it does trip it.
i guess what i should say is that while i have not had a confirmed success of fail on the m919 i have provided the tool to a few who have not been kind enough to report its status

No it will not erase the data on your phone.
The step by step instructions are inside the tool, if you need instructions on how to flash TWRP to your device via Odin you can find them in the forums. I would include them but it is really outside of the scope of the tool, while the tool requires TWRP to work TWRP is not related in any way to the tool, the tool is simply TWRP dependent.
It has worked on the i337 already, whether or not it works on mk2 has yet to be determined, however the tool is designed in such a way it will either work or fail, if it fails it will not harm your device.
