Just a note the LG power off sound doesn't seam to work on stock AT&T Rom.
You will have to delete the AT&T or LG off the front of the name before you place them in there correct folders. And set permissions to -rw-r-r-.
The boot & shut down animations go in the system/media folder
And the start up and shut down sounds go in the system/media/audio/ui folder.

not working... on my phone either no shutdown with any poweroff.ogg file i try i went as far as flashing the original tot file for att and even the panama e980h kdz and still not playing... it has to do with how the internal sd card erases the file you replaced it is still there but not readable and when you paste a new one it won't read them because both of them exist there.

That's odd I pulled both of them just now from my system/media/audio/ui folder.

when I play poweroff.ogg, it plays fine from the BSplayer. it just does not work when u use it as sound for shutdown. I think Emannuel2000 was on to something in what he said previously. Because I am using the rooted stock ATT e980 without the ota update and I never had any shutdown sounds since I bought my phone I think. there was a old poweroff.ogg in the ui directory but it obviously never worked. I think maybe the only reason that you have Sound on shutdown is because u are using a non-stock rom. what u think?

Has anybody used the ROM Toolbox pro to download and change boot animations? I was wondering if it works okay or if there are issues with the note 2. If there aren't any issues then I may try some of the animations it has listed. There are some cool ones their server.

thanks again :good:
it SHOULDNT matter guys.....but this will block OTA's from updating and stuff, so if that is important to you.
but always make a backup of the build.prop just to be sure. once FB home is available to EVERYONE, i would change it back just to be safe....but again, it shouldn't mess with anything else. most apps are available on the Note 2, so it shouldn't be a problem.

In some cases you have flashable zips, in others you have to move the file to system/media and change permissions. just find a flashable boot animation, back up system (optional) and flash in recovery and bam! I actually just flashed a new boot anim not even an hour ago.

To get rid of the Sprint animations delete them from /poweron and /poweroff. Dont overwrite them with something else, just delete them and use /system/media for any custom or stock LG animations. Hope this helped.

And you need to use Root Explorer or some kind of good root file browser with r/w capabilities

To get rid of the Sprint animations delete them from /poweron and /poweroff. Dont overwrite them with something else, just delete them and use /system/media for any custom or stock LG animations. Hope this helped.

Thanks I'll try what you suggested when I get home
And if you could be so kind to explain how the permissions are set for the new animations and to delete the Sprint ones that would be helpful I usually know this stuff but I tried out iPhone for a year so I need to get back into android customization before the iPhone I had HTC one x on cyanogen thanks for all the help

yes you helped greatly just disabled the stock sprint animations now when i shutdown it doesnt do the lg animation which is fine because i want to get rid of them as well but the start up lg plays anyway to disable that one
rwrr are the permissions and any animations that are still playing are in system/media unless you're talking about the splash screen(the lg screen before the boot animation) in which case thats part of the kernel and not able to change.

I currently have the AL00 varient and love that you can set it to automatically record all calls (great for when I'm on call) does the L29 varient have the same function?
Nope, it doesn't.

can anyone get the record apk from an AL00 and post here ?
Greets, Peter
Buddy its already there in L29
just copy /cust/app/HwCallRecorder to /system/app/ and reboot
make sure permissions are correct.
after reboot enable it in dialer setting
For us, that are "somewhat" new to adb.. can someone please assist with a small tutorial with commands and all? =)

Do you need root for this???????

yes you need root for this. Maybe you can try installing that apk file if you are not rooted and see if it works.

First you need to be rooted. after that simply install "solid explorer" from playstore, and browse to source path, copy this source file, browse to destination and paste that.
i am not sure if this is still complex. no need to use adb.

I've got the Chinese AL00 too. When I enable call recorder in dialer, nothing really happened. There is no record in sounds/call recorder folder and neither in any other folder. I checked the system folder and I have app/HwCallRecorder in with correct permissions.
So, my question is: are you sure that your calls are actually recorded and if yes, where are records saved? Thanks.

On home screen pull down tab type files.hit files.hit internal storage.hit sounds.hit call record and there they are
You need turn in on under dialer settings
I have the ALOO and after every call I get a banner at the top notifying me of the recording. Recordings are accessed from the recorder app

Would this need to be done after every OTA and security update applied?
