Looks like you guys are trying to go BACK. Try the MK3 firmware. IIRC you can't downgrade back (and it looks like the OP was trying to downgrade) currently. Here's the file to use in Odin to unbrick your R950 (it's inside the zip file). WARNING: You will be on 4.3 (MK3).

Ok this one is hard to fix but no your phone is not bricked. I had this same exact problem but what you need to keep in mind is it's fixable. but of course this is a forum so I'll make it easy for you by telling how to fix it and give others a peace of mind.... ok first of all you will be installing recovery mods for this one sorry if you were trying to stay official... anyway the reason this is going to happen is because ODIN does not like to downgrade.
NEEDED:
Samsung phone drivers
ODIN
TWRP 2.4.4.0(this is recovery it's ODIN flashable)
A custom SCH-R950 ROM for this tutorial we will be using (t0lteusc_unsigned_122712_193242)
EXTRAS (this is to get back to the official ROM):
Samsung KIES
Now I will include the link to download for everything
DOWNLOADS:
www . 4shared . com /folder/rxEmeQLs/RECOVERY_FIX_TO_UNINSTALLABLE_.html
OR
mega . co . nz /#F!wlBnnZiI!eTpUq2STxwoiD2tvRUooow
STEPS:
1> put phone in ODIN mode turn off phone then press VOLUMEDOWN+HOME+POWER all together
2> once there open ODIN on your computer select PDA and select (openrecovery-twrp-2.4.4.0-t0lteusc.img)
3> dont change any ODIN setting just press start when done the phone will reset and boot into teamwin recovery then turn off and restart again and freeze on the note 2 screen don't worry all is good.
4> now restart the phone holding VOLUMEUP+HOME+POWER let go once you see the note 2 screen then teamwin recovery will boot
5> at this point you know recovery is working turn your phone off
6> now go to your computer and put in an external microSD card that fits your phone
7> now put (t0lteusc_unsigned_122712_193242) on that SD card
8> put the card back in your phone then boot teamwin recovery again
8> Now select install and find the file on your external SD card
9> once the install finishes restart your phone let it boot be patient until it restarts and starts to boot loop
10> after it starts doing that restart the phone and go back to teamwin recovery
11> go to WIPE
12> wipe cache
13> wipe dalvik cache
14> factory reset
15> after this you can restart your phone and let it boot again (BE PATIENT!!!) this may take a while and it may seem like it is frozen but its not let it do it's thing
16> buy this point the phone should have booted into the ROM and it says welcome congrats the custom ROM is installed problem with this ROM for me is the modem wasn't working
17> now this next part is to install the official ROM if that what you want which has the working modem and everything
18> go to the computer launch and install Samsung Kies
19> plug your phone in and let it recognize it
20> it should present you with the latest install android 4.3 with the LK3 modem if not presented with the update option then go to tools and select firmware upgrade and installation
21> proceed with the install this is the latest Samsung official rom for U.S. cellular
22> once installing phone will go to ODIN and install the latest and restart
23>Then the phone will reboot and load the latest ROM
24> congrats your phone is alive and back to stock ROM

Possibly hardware (NAND) error. Or something Knox related.
Did you try to downgrade bootloader or flash older firmware ?
Well.. Tried an older rom 4.1.2 with pit bootloader pda modem and csc.. And now it fails in "system.img"! Dont know what else to try..

stills the same!!! tried several roms and recoverys.... even the cacheFIX and it fails at NAND WRITE STARTS
Hi,
I have GT-N7100 with official ROM. Few months ago I received an invitation to upgrade my ROM from 4.1 to 4.3
I have accepted the invitation and the upgrade was smooth and all was OK.
3 weeks ago I received another notification to update the ROM. It was also 4.3 and in the description it was mentioned as better stability.
I have accepted the invitation.
This time I started to get problems. The phone after reset got stuck on the first screen with the model name of "SAMSUNG GT-N7100".
I have HOME+POWER+VoluneUP and selected to clear all data to factory reset. - I still got the same stuck failure.
I tried to download various of official ROMs from sammobile (Hong Kong, UK, Israel, UAE) and install them with Odin3 but I got the same FAIL error in all of them.
Here is the log:

Maybe your USB Debugging isn't enabled. Try flashing a custom rom if you have twrp or philz recovery installed.

I am noob.
Can you explain me step by step what should I do?
I don't think that my "USB Debugging is enabled" cause I don't know how to enable it.
I don't have any access to HOME+POWER+VolumUP anymore.

Download philz recovery here http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/n7100/philz_touch_6.07.9-n7100.tar.md5
Download odin v3.09. you can get it on google. Put your phone in download mode. Connect to your pc using a USB Cable.
Open Odin Select PDA as the md5 file which is the recovery. After installing recovery download a custom rom like DN3.
Put the zip file of ROM into your external sd card using a card reader. Open philz recovery by pressing Vol up, Home and Power buttons together.
Wipe data and factory reset. Flash the rom. Your phone should be fully functional by now.

Hi,
I am currently using some Samsung Galaxy Note II SGH-I317's and am trying to install a "dual persona image" onto the device. When doing this, the device has gone into screwy mode where i am unable to enter into recovery mode. The key sequence simply doesnt work. I am able to enter into ODIN (download) mode with no issues, but not into recovery.
When i try to install the base image back onto the device using ODIN i get a fail each time. Below is the output from ODIN:

Try flashing with odin again but before flashing open the tar and remove the bootloader out of it.
Hi, thanks for the reply cnote.
Would the bootloader be sboot.bin or boot.img or both?
thanks again
edit: or rather, how do you remove the bootloader and remake the tar file?

I believe it;s both. Just retrieve the tar file only.
sboot is the bootloader boot.img is the kernel .Have you tried the latest NH2 for your phone also maybe try using a pit file
The nh2 you will have to get from sammobile and the pit file can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2609871
Also after odin is finished go into factory recovery and do a factory reset or its just going to sit at the boot screen
flashing pit file also gives an error :S

Are you trying to flash the latest stock ROM from sammobile.com or updato.com?
Tried using Odin 3.07?
Tried different USB cables and USB ports?
