No, LTE modem is connected via usb on this device so it'll work again as soon as you flash a ROM that supports LTE.

Hi all.
When the UK version of the kindle fire comes out shortly, can I download the offical UK ROM and install it on my USA ROM?,and without rooting my USA fire?
Thanks in advance all.
If you install custom recovery, you should be able to flash the UK update and revert your device to an uncostomized UK Kindle Fire, IF (and that's a big IF) the new UK Kindle Fires aren't of the same 2nd generation configuration of these newer devices.
But I doubt you will be able to.
Cheers

Hello everyone.
I was playing with a K8.9 LTE version. I successfully rooted it, tried "Official Aospa-Legacy Kindle Fire HD 8.9 (JEMLTE)" and decided to revert back to stock. I installed this version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2142241 but LTE doesn't work anymore. It displays "No SIM" with the sim card that was working before. With the original AT&T card the error is not shown.
Is there a stock ROM specifically created for LTE devices? What does this warning mean: "NOTE FOR LTE USERS: This does *NOT* contain the wankit update for LTE modem firmware." ? Could it be related to my problem?
Thanks!

The post say "NOTE FOR LTE USERS: This does *NOT* contain the wankit update for LTE modem firmware."
I think you can follow this post “http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2128175” scrool down to the "FLASHING BACK TO STOCK: "section.
bought a used N7 2013 .... pretty sure it was advertised as a WiFi model, definitely no mention of LTE.
anyways, i've been trying to sideload Lollipop, and it keeps failing when i do the "adb sideload xxxx" command.
after looking at the Google Factory Image page, and the Build number on my N7, i'm guessing i have the LTE version?
LTE = KTU84P?
lte
Yes, thats the kit kat for the lte, you should also see the sim card department on the side.

KTU84P was used for all the Nexus 4.4.4 builds across the 4, 5, and 7 (wifi & lte).
Search for it here - https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
It shows up on multiple devices.
yeah, i did see that. so i just can't get it to sideload Lollipop. after dealing with driver issue, trying on Win8.1 and then a Win7 laptop, it loads, but then the tablet aborts install.
i'll wait for the OTA i guess ....
I was running a paranoid android for some time and wanted to go back to the original rom so I grabbed the latest telus 4.4.2 rom off of samsung updates and the phone works fine. The only thing I notice is that before I used to have the LTE icon in the status bar and now I only have the 4G icon. Since I never got the update officially from Telus over the air, can anyone currently running 4.4.2 on a galaxy s3 inform me if they have the LTE or the 4G icon?

It's only an image, it doesn't change anything. That being said, you can test your network speed see if anything changed.

Well according to Telus:
about.telus.com/community/english/about_us/technology_%26_innovation/telus_networks/national_wireless_network
4G is maximum 21Mbps and LTE is maximum theoretical 150Mbps and acordding to the speedtest app I get 46.97 Mbps download and 7.83 Mbps upload so that means on my LTE?

Chances are that you're on LTE. Do you know if your modem changed? Cause if it didn't, you're getting the same thing you were before stock.
Also, like I mentioned, they're images, they are easily swapped/changed. Different ROMs will use different images
You can Go to settings>about phone>status. And it should tell you what network type your on, either HSPA or LTE

I haven't flashed a modem but I did flash the stock rom using ODIN, is a modem included in that package usually? Also I think this rom came with root which would mean it's not 100% stock, is there a place I can get the original telus rom?

Root was simply pushed to the stock ROM (might've been unbloated too) but if you want unrooted, get it directly from Kies or a Odin flashable version from Sammobile.com . You might have to unroot before though (using SuperSU or whichever root app you have) if you wanna do it through Kies.
As for the modem, if you flashed stock, then yes it flashed a modem. That being said, it might be the one you had on custom as well cause most custom ROMs don't change it. That being said, you can look which one (if any) was packaged with the ROM you were using and compare with the one you currently have on your phone.
I have SM-T805(exynos 5420 chipset). It is currently on stock 5.02 firmware. It is not rooted and recovery is untouched. When I scan available wifi networks, only those on 2.4GHz are visible. My question is does this tablet supports connecting to 5GHz wifi networks, and if yes what can I do to trobleshoot this?
Thanks in advance
Same for me bro, and i kitkat i have no wifi issue, but in lollypop its seems to have issue to connect with my asus rt87u
Absolutely no issues for me, stock or custom kernels and roms. Asus n55u

The issue was that my wifi router had regional settings of USA. I When I changed it to some european country, the 5GHz network became visible and available.
[Solved]
The problem is with the license of the wireless waves cscode. Install root explorer. Then go to root directory etc/wifi and edit two files from GB to US and you are good to go with ac or 5ghz ap.
Sharing cz its solve my issue, even samsung customer care wont say anything regarding same
