Will someone for the love of God please make an AOKP and PA hybrid rom for the Sprint gnex lol. It doesnt even have to be 4.2, 4.1.X is fine.
I would totally attempt to make it myself but i am not skilled in developing or coding. An i need a more powerful computer with a good cpu before i can start anything.
I only ask because i havent seen and hybrid roms with these to customs rom except for PAC man and that is only for gsm as far as i know. Would anyone be willing to make this rom or even port the PAC man rom over to sprint gnex? I will test and do what i can to help.

The ROM isnt even supported anymore. That sucks. Oh well i will give it a flash and see where it goes
I know this is one of those annoying questions that gets asked a million times, but does anyone have recommendations for a stable 4.2 build? I want to jump from 4.1 to 4.2 but I really need something reasonably stable - meaning no call problems, no wifi issues, etc. I know I am taking my chances with any beta build, but any suggestions/feedback from folks who are very happy with their 4.2 ROMs would be appreciated!

This belongs in the Q and A section. Prepare for the onslaught of possible attacks.
It all depends on what you're looking for. I suggest you start reading threads and figure out what features the ROMs offer and the last few pages of a ROM thread that interests you to see what issues people might be having with it. If you're just looking for stock then check out the AOSP ROMs, etc.
they are all good, just load 1 and delete this thread

Already prepared - a mod can move this if so desired.
Honestly, I am just looking for feedback on which ROMs have the least problems right now. Leaning toward CM10.1 Nightly or AOKP...
everyone's devices act differently, so everyone has a different experience. people can argue all day about this but really the best thing you can do is just spend a day flashing different roms and see which one works best for you.

Agreed. However, I have two small children and work is extremely busy, so I don't really have a lot of time to flash multiple ROMs.

MMuzzy or AOKP. I've run both, both are great. You get more bells and whistles with aokp so it really boils down to what you like.

Thanks! I think I am going to try MMuzzy's ROM. I like lean and fast, and find a lot of the bells and whistles a little overkill.
Great, goodbye now.

It amazes me how bent out of shape people get by honest questions.
If you are not interested in the topic, just don't read it.
I had better luck with evolution 3.0 ROM than any other so far.

Thank you!
No problem. Its lean fast stable and gets good battery life.
As a father of two small children myself, and a busy job, I feel your pain. But the inner geek loves toying with my Nexus!!
I've tried many of them (MMuzzy, AOKP, CM10.1, ParanoidAndroid, LiquidSmooth). Most are very stable, with good battery life. I really comes down to pretty small differences between them. I've stuck with XenonHD because of small features they have that others don't (a Fast Charge quick setting button and "turn phone over to silence calls").
I doubt I'll stick with it long, as the flashing rash starts itching every few days or so!

Valid question requires valid answer (as things are changing every month,or so).
My vote must go to Evolution 3.0. That thingie is as smooth as ... you know what!
XenonHD would be #2, in my opinion of course,
Muzzy, #3.
...or flip the coin between 3 and 2.
Edit;
PrimeDirective jumps in between #2 and #3.

I can't speak comparatively, but I've had fantastic battery running CM10.1 nightlies and TinyKernel. Currently running today's CM10.1, TinyKernel 2.5.1, InteractiveX/SIO for gov/sched.
Hey Everyone,
I am sure this has come up before. I have been using Jedi Mind Trick 6, happily for a while now. I have had VERY FEW ISSUES until the other day when the phone shut off while browsing and I needed to restore my DATA. It wasn't that terrible but I can't have this happening while I am out in the field. I wanted to try another ROM but I can't seem to find anything that is STABLE. It looks like there are some camera issues with a lot of new ROMs. I rely on my camera and take a lot of pics. I know that this question is severely frowned apon BUT there are WAY TOO MANY ROMs for this phone. It seems like none of them are really stable and have way too many updates. I don't have time to update nightly or weekly. What ROM is the closest in reliability and performance to Jedi Mind Trick? I have been reading through threads for DAYS! Someone please give me a recommendation! Thanks in advance.
Many will disagree with you. And just cause you see a post or 2 in a thread saying something doesn't work....doesn't mean it's an issue for everyone.
So.....most will ignore this thread I'm afraid....but I can tell you what they are thinking ....just flash some roms until you find one that works good for YOU. Because that's the only way you will know what works good for you .
You will find some say this rom or that rom is perfect, and some will say this rom or that rom has issues. Asking is pointless I'm afraid.
My only advice....you prolly wanna try 4.1.2 or 4.2.2 roms for now. 4.3 is almost there, and for some its perfect too.....but others have issues. Or use 4.1.2 stock and call it a day.
Not all phones or users are created equal. The only way to find things that work for you is to flash them.
No offence intended .....but if you wanted stability over experimentation.....you picked the wrong phone.

Good advice to go with 4.2 ROMs. As you can see in my signature I'm no noob when it comes to flashing ROMs. My HD2 is a great phone. And you are right that this phone isn't that great but with the Jedi Mind Trick ROM it runs really well with great battery life. I was shocked when I had to restore DATA.
I just wish there weren't so many damned ROMs!

Can't believe u think there are too many ROMs lol, I think ur the only Hercules owner to ever say that, yes I can almost guarantee nobody is going to agree with u, and as far as ROMs with issues, I haven't seen one issue yet on beanstalk 4.3 or hellybean 4.3, actually to think of it there aren't many issues at all in most of the 4.3 ROMs up there lol and as was said before just because u see one person say the don't like something doesn't mean there are instabilities or issues man, go get a non developer supported device or go back stock if u don't like it lol but don't complain here about to many choices because that's why this forum is here, to offer choices lol

SlimBean & XenonHD
I had been using SlimBean 4.2.2 Build 8 and it has been almost rock-solid. Camera works great w/o any issues. They have a great team working behind it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2060374

Hey guys,
My missus just ordered one of these phones and its good to see this section of the forums being active, which kinda is causing my dilemma - which rom to install on her phone? I know this question probably gets asked alot and it comes down to personal preference, but I will have limited time to play with her new toy, so testing out a few roms is out of the question. I would like a stock-based rom thats stable and fast and suitable for everyday use - we all hate being asked/yelled at 'why cant this just work' .
Something like Omega for sgs3 or androwook for tf201 tablet, which are both great, stock based roms that add cool extras to the stock experience.
Thanks for your time and suggestions are greaty appreciated.

You don't need to, actually. Stock rom is just already what you want. Still, might look for extra features, though.
Hi all, I am not new to using new ROMs on my older Android devices (loved using AOKP on my S2!), and am now looking for options for my S4, which is still using the factory ROM and is still not rooted or unlocked.
I've been lurking for a while, and don't know which ROMs are the better options for my phone. Reading threads I get an idea that for a 4.4.X-based ROM, PAC-ROM LP Beta-1 seems like a good option. Also, as far as Lollipop-based ROMs go, it seems that the JFLTE-GPE 5.0.1 one by Danvdh, Kryten2k35, Googy_Anas, and Ktoonsez is doing pretty good with users as a daily driver.
Now, I know the usual "go ahead, try one, if you don't like it try another" response applies, but I'm looking for more useful responses. I'm leaning towards the GPE Lollipop version at the moment.
Thanks for any advice given!!!

Not sure how you can get more useful responses when no one is you. You need to decide for yourself if you want Touchwiz features or not, pretty graphics or plain vanilla, If you try non-Touchwiz ROMs you lose a lot of stock features you may be used to...but if you have been flashing ROMs for a while you would know that. So mate, only you know what is right for you.
Thanks for your reply Kenny, I was wondering more in terms of caveats of ROMs concerning the TMo version of the S4, so I could either avoid possible problems, or look up towards an awesome ROM.
BTW, to hell with Touchwiz lol!
Here's a useful response, read the threads for the roms your interested in, all of them and see what people are posting, if you see a lot of wining and misery you'll get the impression that that rom sucks.
Happy faces and many thanks, good rom.
The other factor is, do you need a reliable phone on a daily basis?
Pick a safe rom.
The further you move away from stock, potentially the less reliable the rom/phone.
If reliability isn't a factor and you have nothing better to do all or most of the day but fix your phone so you can "like" something then go wild and try some unofficial lollipop.
Unofficial because it hasn't been released for the Tmo S4 yet.
Don't badmouth TouchWiz.
Pp.

The biggest thing about staying with a Touchwiz based ROM is WiFi-Calling. You will lose this with CM or AOSP based ROMs. WiFi calling is the only thing that makes my cell work well at a few places I frequent, so is a necessary condition for me. YMMV.
Rob
Valuable input indeed, thanks! Reading threads at the moment on both TW and AOSP based ROMs...
