a family member gifted me with the wireless receiver module for my note 2. I know the Sprint version has the wireless charging tabs covered, but would it work if I bought the frame housing from the AT&T version on eBay? From the pictures it looks like a simple swap and I'd like to have wireless charging if I can and the cost of the frame housing is only 10 bucks.
From my understanding the pins are there and you need to mod the mid plate or use a att one, and add a receiver to connect to the pins.
I'm pretty sure you need to use the sprint casing and put holes in it. I don't think the att case works due to very small differences in the phone design. The l900 case is compatible with the Verizon case and the att with T-Mobile I don't believe sprint is with att

Just viewed this item in store.
It is available at some stores
1. Does NOT come with charging cable.
2. Does NOT use the POGO Pins on the side of the phone.
3. Does hold the GSM Gnex securely.
4. Uses a cutout in dock bottom to allow plugging and unplugging Micro USB.
5. Does allow button function though the case of dock.
$40 for a belt clip with a suction cup? Sounds like I wont be getting it then, why are car docks so expensive. Suction cups don't work for my car anyway, so I'll hold out for something else, preferably cheaper.
Are you sure it was the Samsung model? I'm pretty sure the US model will be like the UK one http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=2w7TgFmP74I#!

It said Samsung on the dock, but Verizon Galaxy Nexus on the box, there maybe more than one model maybe they could not get the pins to line up? This was definitely the cheap version, not the one I have seen on the UK websites.
Looks like I will be ordering on line, only problem is it seems the good one using the POGO pins will not be available for quite a while
lmao. If you want to freak passengers out or people behind you @ night, rip off your rear view mirror, put the uk dock in its place and turn on the camera. Good times. Good times.

Pretty sure their reaction was "Look, that idiot ripped his rearview mirror off, and replaced it with a cell phone. Not sure what that's all about, but he looks as happy as a retard in a crayon factory."
a warning to you folks. the OEM vehicle dock "DOES NOT" properly fit the Sprint Epic touch.
the 4 corners of the cradle DO NOT engage the phone at all. the phone simple "squeezes" between them. without even engaging the suction cup just sitting it on a desk I was able to disengage the phone with 2 fingers. IE the first bump you hit the phone is coming out.
the only thing holding it in is the USB Socket which is precisely what you do NOT want (force acting on that socket)
Also the usb socket will not engage the phone (it seems the sprint SII is a hair "thicker" than the infuse?) you have to PUSH UP from the backside of the dock to "lift" the dock connector just enough to allow it to engage the phones usb socket.
this screams bad news to me.
it truly is a gorgeous dock. I WANT it badly but alas I have to send it back I won't trust my very expensive phone to it.
Here is a video showing the issues. I REALLY hope they make a proper dock for this phone it needs one badly. I HAD those generic docks so much they are flat out ugly.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ct4TuPJayHQ
the seller on ebay was very cool no problem letting me send it back for a full refund. (doing that tomorrow)
I really wish I could keep it. while I would LOSE the "dock" functionality the cradle could VERY easily be modified to securely hold the phone.
but this dock is too expensive to trash its internals to do this at $29.
$10 dock I would hack it up it in a heartbeat.
any found a "proper" designed for epic touch car cradle yet? prefer a uni 4 point connector style (I have a mount right on my steering wheel)
The OEM car dock odds what you need. It works perfect. Stop wasting time with stuff made for a different phone.
Dicho por el E4GT de Latinmaxima con Tapatalk.
well it was advertised as FOR the epic touch 4g. clearly its not
gonna stalk an AT&T store tomorrow and see if I get luck for a cheap one to mod.
save up enough to buy the official epic touch one.
that's not the infuse vehicle dock that ATT was selling. i bought one direct from ATT when it was on sale for $18.00, and it is nearly identical to the genuine E4GT dock. ATT seems to have gotten smart and jacked the price up - you can't even find the infuse dock on their site, but now you can find an overpriced galaxy SII dock. the infuse is available on amazon, but it's more expensive than the genuine dock.
this is what it looks like:
http://amzn.com/B004WOBMIY
and this is the genuine dock:
http://amzn.com/B005LBEG80
so you're better off just buying the real thing.
i've been using mine for a month now, about three hours of daily driving, it's never popped out or come loose.

Yea, I got the same dock from at&t and it looks different from the OP's. I'm not sure if he modded it to make it longer but if that's the way it came then it definitely isn't the one that was offered for under $20 from the at&t deal.
I use mine on trips consisting of more than 30+ minutes and it has never fallen out of place. Not to mention my car has a stiffer suspension with coilovers so it's more susceptible to falling out.
well I drive a 94 Geo metro Xfi.
it don't get much more rough than that hehe
but its worth it for the 60mpg
Been using an infuse dock for about 2 months now and my phone fits fine. Yes there are gaps in the corners because the e4gt has more rounded corners than the infuse but it is secure. Btw the seller you bought it from must have swap the base because the oem comes with a fixed arm not a gooseneck. Goosenecks shake more while fixed arms don't.

nono the goosneck is mine that is not what came with it
I have no idea if this is the AT&T dock or not I got it from ebay as an infuse oem dock advertised as comp with epic touch 4g. its not.
just giving people heads up if they find the same thing
Clean your desk.
OP, I think you got something different than the ATT Infuse Dock.
The one I have from ATT fits the phone nicely, and while it's not perfect, I have not had the phone pop out that easily.
Glad the person on eBay is letting you return it.
I will sure find out tomorrow.
My local AT&T has one and its $17 he is holding it for me.
at $17 I am willing to hack it up a bit. I will do a side by side before sending the one I got on ebay back.
the one I got flat out does not fit. its a friction fit only (watch the video remember that goosneck is mine did not come with the dock)
ie nothing actually "holds" the phone save the usb jack which is exactly what you don't want. ONE slip one accident and your in trouble
I have no problems with my dock

Looking to circumvent sprint repair/replace and fix my nexus.
Cannot locate a L700 housing, and by the pictures it looks like the VZW housing (i515) is a lil different. anyone know if i can maybe retrofit the vzw one on a sprint screen/mobo? are the screws holes the same? is it just the lte-sim card location that varies? or does any1 know who sells sprint (l700) parts?
bump for any info on sprint replacement parts (L700)
What is interesting about this is that if you are able to use the Verizon housing you would also then be able to buy the Verizon extended battery as the only thing stopping a sprint user from using it is the housing is different
Anyone figure this out, or will I have to be the guinea pig?
Just verified the answer with a coworkers Verizon GN. Its doable but its a hack job. Chassis has 6 mounting screws to the housing. 5 of them line up except the middle right screw. Its a totally different location on the Verizon one. Also each phone has 4 jump ports but some are in different locations. Housing could be drilled at the different locations, however don't know if I could live with one screw missing on one side of the phone.
Is there a source for Sprint housings yet? I've been looking all over and have found nothing.
I have a sprint OEM housing for sale brand new. LCD replacement. Battery door and side housing. Pm for jnfo and I can send you pictures

I'm in the market to buy accessories for my i747.. I'm looking on ebay and see a dock / charger / battery combo at a decent price but it says it's for european and asian phones (i9300). would this fit my phone? to me everything should be the same..
Thanks
accessory wise the two variants are exactly the same dimensions and stuff, so anything made for the i9300 will fit the i747, including batteries. the phones are exactly the same on the outside, just the insides are diff. :good:
Yep. Chargers, batteries, docks and cases all fit the i747 that are made for i9300. They are the same form factor

Hello,
I unserstand both phones have the same external dimensions, but would it be the same for the battery cover ?
If I swap the pebble blue battery cover from a i9300 to a i747 would it fit ?
Thanks.
I would imagine yes as above he did say dimensions of phone is the same the only difference is the cpu and ram I believe.

Yes, I've been debating getting an international battery cover so it doesn't say at&t on this beautiful bad boy.

I have an att s3 and ordered an intl cover a few days ago.I should get it in next week, will keep this thread updated !
In any case I am a reseller and am about to make a huge order of genuine s3 covers for north american sale,so I just wanted to make sure that would work.
Thanks for the help !
The international version has a microphone on the back cover by the camera. So cases and skins for the international version will fit but you'll have a useless hole by the camera. Not really a big deal if you ask me.

I could be wrong but the skin I'm using on my at&t gs3 was made for the international version and it has a microphone hole on the back cover. I don't actually own the international version but I'll post a pic of my skin later
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747
The att version also has a microphone hole next to the camera, unless you meant something else ?
Yep a tiny mic pinhole is the only physical difference between some of the two base versions or models.
CPU (quad vs. dual core), ram (1Gb vs. 2Gb) and radios (3g/4g vs. LTE) are the internal hardware differences between the international and north American models

I have an international version, there is no mic by the cam. I've had both variants they LOOK exactly the SAME. ALL the cases will fit.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
ok heres my skin. there is a hole on the back cover (above the led flash), but there is no hole on my battery cover for a mic or something. there is a mic on the top border of my phone next to the headphone jack, which has its own hole
again it was made for the international version

Yep that was the only difference I saw on some back covers not even sure why that little extra hole by the flash even there. But all cases and covers work for both.
Hmm interesting ! Very good info.
I have a question
Hi,
My question is, are the lcd and digatizer screens the same size on both i9300 and i747 ?
I need to replace 1 and want to make sure:
question
I am wanting to get a cord for my GS3 i747 that hooks the phone to hdmi port on television. I saw several options on ebay but some of them say that they are "ONLY" compatible with i900 and i908. Is that the case? Should the cable work with i747 if it works with unlocked phones?
Will a i9300 ROM work on a i747?
Ok. So. Let me start off.
I buy and sell phones through Craigslist. I have AT&T. I picked up a Verizon Galaxy S3 (because it's supposed to be unlocked. And it was a good deal.) Turns out the sim contacts were ripped out. *Derp.*
I bought an AT&T motherboard off of a friend of mine for $10.
Using wire cutters, sandpaper, and box cutters, I managed to dig out enough metal from the housing, around the power button, to fit the motherboard in snugly. (I'm a Russian. We like to come up with solutions like "Oh, the plane's wing is coming off? Duct tape it is.")
All the connections hooked up just fine. Booted up to a clean 4.1.2. Took my sim. *Yayyyy.*
The camera doesn't work. *I'm assuming this is a firmware difference?*
And my signal drops randomly. *Perhaps I should update the modem firmware?* But I do get LTE just fine with the original Verizon-housing antenna wire.
Thoughts? o.o Concerns? The camera and signal isn't a big deal, since I'm just going to dump this thing on somebody anyway, but it would be nice to sell a...not...completely...ghetto product.
Thanks in advance.

Your signal drop is mostly cause of your nv file (which seems to happen a lot to unlocked devices). You can use nv-reader-writer to copy another phone's file and replace yours.
As for the camera, either software issue or the connection isn't right. That being said, it should connect just fine.
Thank you for the reply, sir. =D
it's the case causing the signal drop, I ordered an international version of the S3 housing off ebay because it was black and mine was busted. The antennae in the housing doesn't line up with my AT&T S3 and causes terrible signal. Took a while to figure that out.
You need the right housing.
