Hi. I just bumped into this issue and I am really annoyed because I don't know why it appeared. The story goes like this: I wanted to search some app on the PlayStore and as always, I turned on the Wi-Fi, waited a couple of seconds and the full signal bars appeared, as they should and the network appears also "Connected". But, when I try to acces the PlayStore, it keeps loading and loading, the same thing goes for Google search, mail sync or anything else that involves an internet connection. The catch is that the problem isn't with my router, because it is working properly, my laptop and my sister's phone can access the internet. I have tried forgetting the network and re-entering the password as well. I don't know if it is related, but at the same time when the internet was not working on my phone, a message appeared on my screen at a 30 seconds interval, and the message was "Backing off 30000", "Backing off 45000", etc. I rebooted my phone, I wiped my phone, I thought it would help, but it didn't. I hope you can help me solve this problem. Thanks in advance.

I have a strange problem with Wi-Fi in my rhodium. I have to wait about one minute to load any data from Internet (for example load google page in web browser). It heppens only after i soft reset or switch on rhodium. I enable Wi-Fi and then try to load google or something other - I wait about minute to load page. After that everything works fine. If i switch off Wi-Fi and switch on again it also works good. My problem heppens only after fresh wi-fi start after reset. It heppens at all web browsers and others applications. I tried also hard reset. I have stock rom 6.1. Someone can help me? I have no idea :/

Does this only happen with a single wifi location (i.e. your home), or anywhere you use wifi?
If this is related to your home wifi, you might be able to sign into your router's management portal page and watch to see if the router shows an active connection with your TP2 as soon as the phone says it's connected, or if there's a delay there..
I didn't check it with other location than my home network - becouse I don't switch off my pda when im outside, but i will try it Today i rebooted my router and pda and then turned on wi-fi on pda. After that.. wi-fi worked without wait, i repeated it 3 times and it works lol. Router see connection of pda without delay. I have no idea now what it is but im happy that it works now. I reboot my router often so i dont think that it could be a router problem which disappear after reboot, but time will show. I will write if this problem comes again.
I went through google, here, and other android blogs and where I found people who've had a similar problem to mine, there seemed to be no concrete solution.
What I'm talking about is literally in front of my eyes, though I didn't know the extent at the time, the wifi \ bluetooth died. I was listening to a podcast and the wifi turned off. I had no problems that led to this, no issues with the ROM (Energy) and anything else to indicate anything was wrong. So after turning it on it would just say error, and that was it.
Like other posters who've brought this up, I cleared cache and dalvik, went to stock, went to other backups from different ROMS, and still nothing. So is there anything concrete anyone here knows about? Thanks in advance!

So as to fix this problem, some people suggest to do a Factory reset. But, it is completely unnecessary.Instead you can try the following methods, which where tested by me successfully.
1. Dial *#*#526#*#* to reload the wifi driver. If it doesn’t work, restart your phone and dial it once gain.It will work for sure.
2.There is an app “Wifi-Fixer” from android market, which claims to be fix this problem. But seriously,it hadn’t worked for my mobile phone(Samsung Galaxy Ace). But,
if you are interested, can download and try it here.
For HTC users, I have a pretty good trick which works very well.
When you have obtaining IP address problem,
1.Turn off wifi.
2.Open “Allshare”, then you will be asked to connect to a wifi network.
3.Then select the wifi network that you need to connect from the list opened.
Magically, you will be connected without any extra effort. This works 100% sure without fail.
If that doesnt work try this:
1.Dial *#*#526#*#*.Then a message will be shown “Driver loading Successful”.
2.Now Start the WiFi, it should work.
If the message “Driver Loading Unsuccessful” is shown, follow these steps:
1. Dial *#*#526#*#* again and click options button on your phone.
2. Select Rx test.
3. Select Channel >9 .
4. Click Start and exit.
5 . After some time, turn on the wifi.It should work.
It is possible you've fried your wireless card.
Can you test Bluetooth calling?
If enough heat built up for a long enough period of time both could be affected.
ie charging while on wifi using Bluetooth and a heavy CPU workload is a perfect recipe.
Okay Diablo, thanks for the suggestions but of course, it didn't work. So many times I read these threads where people are having trouble for one reason or the other and nothing ever seems to work... Now I'm that guy.
So like I said, I would dial those numbers and nothing would come up. Now I did try wifi fixer and it really looked it was doing something, but again, nothing happened.
And 9h0S7, I'm fearing you may be right... I've read the bluetooth and wifi are on the same antenna, and I can't get the bluetooth working either. A friend of mine checked the board and everything looked fine so visually speaking nothing seemed corroded or messed up in anyway.
Anyway, thank you both for your help and I continue to hope this can be fixed!
Help! No Wifi connection now...
I had the "Wifi Error" problem with my Samsung Galaxy Ace device, so tried to follow the procedure described with Allshare. It didn't work, and now my device is not able to connect via wifi in any way! I've tried restarting the phone many times and dialling the code to reload the driver, I tried to download Wifi fixer, but no method works. The phone "sees" the Wifi network, tries to get the IP address and then disconnects. I don't know what to do... I'm desperate...:crying: :crying: :crying:
Hey guys, I've been searching for problems first before posting but I've yet to find a thread that actually fixes this specific problem. It's a little different than the other threads I've seen. Basically my phone can connect to my interwebs and I can browse webpages on dolphin browser but I can't connect to the play store. I've tried going to the play store on my desktop and trying to download apps to my phone that way but they never start downloading on my phone. I've tried resetting my router, multiple times yet it only worked once and hasn't worked any other trys after that. I've also tried dialing multiple " *# " numbers, some don't even connect and *#0011#* gave me an error about my connectiong and an invalid MMI. My router is secured through a WPA-key. Another thing that just recently started up was that snapchat would give me an error when I open it saying it has stopped working. Unrelated perhaps but maybe not.
I've been able to connect to other routers at other houses and my school, sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. I've noticed that when the wifi signal icon turns blue then everything will work. When it's grey, it's a complete toss up on whether it'll work or not.
I'm running Cyanogen Mod 10.2-20130925
I can't post pics because i'm too new... only created this to get a solution

If you did a factory reset when you upgraded to 10.2, then there isn't much you can do. If you have not done that, do it.

No, I haven't factory reseted it. I'm trying to avoid any factory resets to lose my information but right about now I'd try anything. Do you have an up to date guide on flashing ROMs and keeping my contacts?

Contacts are synced to your Google account. But you can export them from the contacts app just to be safe.
You can back up user app data with one of the billion back up apps on the market. Only user apps though, never system apps.
This way, you will only need to redo the system settings. Factory reset will make you lose 20-30 minutes if you're slow.
I have an "accept" page at my gym. And, up until today, when I try to connect to the network, I would get the popup with the splash to check off. For some reason, I couldn't get it to pop up, so couldn't use the wifi.....tried deleting the network and restarting the phone, but no good..
..The people there said the router might need to be reset....Is there a way to get to the splash page with out the phone's popup browser?
I tried turning off Data and opening Dolphin, Chrome, and Opera, but they all "turn on Data to use this connection" for internet.
I also tried to manually input the IP address, no luck there either..... I thought it would be a simple fix. Is there something I am overlooking?
Resetting a router is simply unplugging and replugging it to the power. Takes about two minutes for the router to reboot. The gym should do this every so often.
For you, you need to delete cached data for your browser(s).

[Q] Wi-Fi keeps disconnecting and telling me that "Sign in is required" 2 days ago
Hi,
I have been looking in internet and didnt find any info about this kind of issue...hope somebody can help me with this.
The thing is that 2 days ago, when I return home I realized that my Wi-Fi wasnt connected, and in the Wi-Fi networks, under my Wi-Fi name I got the message "Sign-in is required" (which is weird because I neverd had to do that), after tapping on it and connect, it launches the message of "Sign in Wi-Fi network" and take me to the browser where it tries to open "google.es/?gws_rd=ssl " but nothing happens. Then after a couple of minutes I got disconnected with the message "this network has been disconnected. your sign-in timed out" and then goes again to the "sign in is required".
This issue only happens with my place Wi-Fi, at my office the phone connects to Wi-Fi and works like before and without any problem. And at my place it only affects to my Note 2, my gf S3 has no problem, some older devices like HTC Desire HD or Chacha also can connect to internet without problems, and the same goes for my laptop and ps3.
I tried changing network password, name and nothing. I removed the pass for my network and still the same...and after reseting the router no changes.
As far I remember the day the problems started I almost didnt use my phone, and didnt change any settings at all.
As for the device, I'm runing the original rom with android 4.3. On monday I had a small update throught Kies to "PDA:NE1 / PHONE:NE1 / CSC:NE1 (TGY)" and it worked perfectly.
any idea of what could be the problem?
thanks!
is there any solution to this?
I am having exactly the same problem with a brand new galaxy trend plus. since we bought it and brought it home yesterday I've searched all over the internet and tried almost every advice I found on problems with wifi connection, but with no success. the phone is running on android 4.2.2, and we have another phone and a tablet on 4.2.2 which never had any problems with the wifi.
I'm seeing what I think is this same issue on my Galaxy S5 on our corporate network. We have a captive portal page that needs to be accepted every few days, but once you accept once, you're good for that period of time. However, after that first captive portal, my phone is assuming that every time it connects there is a captive portal, so it isn't connecting automatically. If I forget the network and re-connect after I've hit the captive portal for that first time, it works as expected and will auto-reconnect if I roam to a different AP, etc.

need help!
Hi everybody,
Is there a solution for that problem? I did everythig that told in manу threads but still got nothing helpful. I found the Google developer's thread so it is suppossed to be not a bug but a special feature that no one can turn off.
I usually use pablic WiFi captive portals and nowhere I can set stable coonection on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 SM-T215.

It's described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58252752&postcount=38
"Sign into network" auto disconnect
The sign in autodisconnect function is caused by an internal android system app called Captiveportallogin. I used romtoolbox to freeze it and configured my network manually after a day of it auto disconnecting.
