Galaxy s3 not connecting to google/some apps when connected on WiFi - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Hey guys, I've been searching for problems first before posting but I've yet to find a thread that actually fixes this specific problem. It's a little different than the other threads I've seen. Basically my phone can connect to my interwebs and I can browse webpages on dolphin browser but I can't connect to the play store. I've tried going to the play store on my desktop and trying to download apps to my phone that way but they never start downloading on my phone. I've tried resetting my router, multiple times yet it only worked once and hasn't worked any other trys after that. I've also tried dialing multiple " *# " numbers, some don't even connect and *#0011#* gave me an error about my connectiong and an invalid MMI. My router is secured through a WPA-key. Another thing that just recently started up was that snapchat would give me an error when I open it saying it has stopped working. Unrelated perhaps but maybe not.
I've been able to connect to other routers at other houses and my school, sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. I've noticed that when the wifi signal icon turns blue then everything will work. When it's grey, it's a complete toss up on whether it'll work or not.
I'm running Cyanogen Mod 10.2-20130925
I can't post pics because i'm too new... only created this to get a solution

If you did a factory reset when you upgraded to 10.2, then there isn't much you can do. If you have not done that, do it.

No, I haven't factory reseted it. I'm trying to avoid any factory resets to lose my information but right about now I'd try anything. Do you have an up to date guide on flashing ROMs and keeping my contacts?

Contacts are synced to your Google account. But you can export them from the contacts app just to be safe.
You can back up user app data with one of the billion back up apps on the market. Only user apps though, never system apps.
This way, you will only need to redo the system settings. Factory reset will make you lose 20-30 minutes if you're slow.

maybe marketplace is acting up.
You need to be logged in to windows live on phone and computer i believe.
I've seen that message occasionally. Generally power cycling the phone solves it.

it's hasn't worked for me, i have reset my phone 3 times so far with countless power down cycles.
I have a sr with ms to see what's going on. I can download free apps but not paid apps, music, games etc.
waiting to hear from MS, lets see what happens.
I get this error from time to time when my Omnia switches from 3G to WiFi (and vice versa) A power cycle seems to be the only way to fix it.
same problem????????????
Have you enable cookies via settings? Try to uncheck that box, restart your phone and check it again.
May be also operator/network problem.
Very common thing indeed.
Check the regional settings on the device, on the computer with the Zune software and in your live account. If they are not the same you get this error message. I had the same problem and I was able to solve it due to the change of this settings.
I hope it will work for you too
i got this problem too! nothing you guys said has worked any other ideas?
Same problem here, looks like there is something going on with market.
Seems to be working now! i uninstalled some apps but could have been that it just decided to start working
that seems to be the fix. it was happening when the phone was trying to update the trial versions of apps. the only way to fix the problem is to delete the free trials... but that was a like a week ago n i havent ran into the problem again
Read in MS support forum there was some sever adjustment.

Is there any WiFi Error solution?

I went through google, here, and other android blogs and where I found people who've had a similar problem to mine, there seemed to be no concrete solution.
What I'm talking about is literally in front of my eyes, though I didn't know the extent at the time, the wifi \ bluetooth died. I was listening to a podcast and the wifi turned off. I had no problems that led to this, no issues with the ROM (Energy) and anything else to indicate anything was wrong. So after turning it on it would just say error, and that was it.
Like other posters who've brought this up, I cleared cache and dalvik, went to stock, went to other backups from different ROMS, and still nothing. So is there anything concrete anyone here knows about? Thanks in advance!

So as to fix this problem, some people suggest to do a Factory reset. But, it is completely unnecessary.Instead you can try the following methods, which where tested by me successfully.
1. Dial *#*#526#*#* to reload the wifi driver. If it doesn’t work, restart your phone and dial it once gain.It will work for sure.
2.There is an app “Wifi-Fixer” from android market, which claims to be fix this problem. But seriously,it hadn’t worked for my mobile phone(Samsung Galaxy Ace). But,
if you are interested, can download and try it here.
For HTC users, I have a pretty good trick which works very well.
When you have obtaining IP address problem,
1.Turn off wifi.
2.Open “Allshare”, then you will be asked to connect to a wifi network.
3.Then select the wifi network that you need to connect from the list opened.
Magically, you will be connected without any extra effort. This works 100% sure without fail.
If that doesnt work try this:
1.Dial *#*#526#*#*.Then a message will be shown “Driver loading Successful”.
2.Now Start the WiFi, it should work.
If the message “Driver Loading Unsuccessful” is shown, follow these steps:
1. Dial *#*#526#*#* again and click options button on your phone.
2. Select Rx test.
3. Select Channel >9 .
4. Click Start and exit.
5 . After some time, turn on the wifi.It should work.
It is possible you've fried your wireless card.
Can you test Bluetooth calling?
If enough heat built up for a long enough period of time both could be affected.
ie charging while on wifi using Bluetooth and a heavy CPU workload is a perfect recipe.
Okay Diablo, thanks for the suggestions but of course, it didn't work. So many times I read these threads where people are having trouble for one reason or the other and nothing ever seems to work... Now I'm that guy.
So like I said, I would dial those numbers and nothing would come up. Now I did try wifi fixer and it really looked it was doing something, but again, nothing happened.
And 9h0S7, I'm fearing you may be right... I've read the bluetooth and wifi are on the same antenna, and I can't get the bluetooth working either. A friend of mine checked the board and everything looked fine so visually speaking nothing seemed corroded or messed up in anyway.
Anyway, thank you both for your help and I continue to hope this can be fixed!
Help! No Wifi connection now...
I had the "Wifi Error" problem with my Samsung Galaxy Ace device, so tried to follow the procedure described with Allshare. It didn't work, and now my device is not able to connect via wifi in any way! I've tried restarting the phone many times and dialling the code to reload the driver, I tried to download Wifi fixer, but no method works. The phone "sees" the Wifi network, tries to get the IP address and then disconnects. I don't know what to do... I'm desperate...:crying: :crying: :crying:

[Q] Play Store and You Tube not working properly

Hello,
This is my first post. I am sorry, if I break any rules or norm of xda-developers. Sorry, if that happens, but I don't intend to disrespect or hurt anyone. I have high respect for the developers and I have been learning a lot about Android because of you guys. Thanks for that.
Lately I have been experiencing an issue on my Note 2. Sorry, but I can't really pin point what I did that it's going all crazy. I searched online using our friend, google, and saw that many others have this issue. My apps are not getting updated, for that matter, none of the devices (Nexus 7, and a Samsung Galaxy S Duos) at my home are able to do that. So, I am assuming its a Router issue. I tried changing DNS address and firewall settings. None of them worked. I am mostly on Wifi, but these issues don't surface when I use cellular data. Maybe, its the router itself.
Other than that, YouTube isn't loading specific videos and keeps logging me out. Some "specific" (they are not 18+) videos won't load no matter what I do to load them. Other videos work fine. However, I didn't try to load them on cellular data so far.
Contacts are not syncing. I tried whatever suggestions people offered. It works for few minutes, and then fail. AGAIN and AGAIN. To keep it simple, I turned off syncing from every other app, Skype, Samsung etc except for google. Turned off sync completely. Made a .vcf file as backup. Deleted all my contacts related data, from Phone and GMail. Yes, it did hurt. Mailed myself vcf file. Imported all my contacts to Gmail. Turned on sync with google on my phone. And, it worked fine, for few minutes. Back to square one after that. I am not sure if problem lies with one of the contacts as this was the best I could think of to solve my sync issues.
One of the correlations I was able to establish was to make Play Store and YouTube work, I had to first get my sync problem out of the way. For the moments for which it was working, everything else was working.
So far I have not tried factory reset. I have my reservations regarding it. I have experience in ROOTING, flashing, overclocking etc. Did that for my desire, and my friends desire C. But I am satisfied with how my phone was working, and so far am not looking to Root it. But if you think that factory reset or rooting could solve my problem, please enlighten me.
Thanks for the help. Really appreciate it.
You can try factory resetting one of them and use a different Google account. Perhaps nothing should be same as the other two devices. If yes then it could be an issue with the account or some apps. If no it could be an Internet or router problem. Try data or something.
Next try factory reset other device but this time give it details as the device you reset earlier. See how they go. If it goes fine thanks factory reset them back and this time your original account. See if it works or not. This will jot down what the problem is.
If it works then something was wrong with your devices. If not then something is wrong with your account.

Thanks for replying (I also clicked the button as I figured people appreciate that more) and thanks to all other 60+ people for looking into my issue.
I can what you suggested by factory resetting, but I am keeping that as my last option for now, for two reasons. First, one of the devices, belongs to a friend of mine, who already use a different account than mine. Also, in nexus 7, I have a separate account for him. I am thinking of resetting/changing my router, internet works fine though and I paid a hell lot of money for it. Second, I don't want to loose all data. If I was to do this, I will probably root my phone along with it too, save some time. As the problem started for all the devices at the same time, I strongly sense its a wifi issue. Also, when I change some of the settings in router, things start working fine for half and hour or so.

[Q] I relocked and RUU'd - now search is faulty and Google Now disappeared

Hi all, I've been playing around with custom ROMs on my One X for about a year and a half but was recently getting tired of putting up with stability issues and decided I wanted to return the phone to stock.
I relocked the phone with ADB, then ran the appropriate RUU for my CID.
The procedure worked fine and I managed to download the latest HTC stock update without any drama, except for one annoying issue.
The search function stalls every time I use the toolbar - the whole screen goes blank white except for the little 'working' logo, occasionally it connects to Google and responds to my search terms. Also I cannot find any trace of Google Now in the software, it has vanished from the phone. No cards appear on the search page and there is no reference to it in any settings menus.
What do you think the root cause could be? What are my options for fixing it?
Thanks

it is now called google search
Thanks for the reply but whatever it's called it isn't working properly.
I'm getting error messages saying "server access failure" and there are zero cards or location-based info being presented. I cannot find any reference to cards within the settings either. Would a factory reset work? Or is there someway of resetting or re-installing the search apk?

I don't use it actually but I've just tried it for you and seems to be working fine, loading up up relevant weather and location information.
Yes you could try a factory reset or try uninstalling it from the play store, but don't forget you are looking for google search, and not google now.
Press thanks if I helped you. Sent via XDA Premium 4
Thanks man, clearing the data out of the Google Search app seemed to reset it. Everything working fine now..

Your connection is not private

My GS6 grew into this error about 6 months ago so I stopped using the phone. It is showing up in all apps, on WiFi and cell service, not just chrome from the screenshots. Ie a lot of apps have problems because they always thing that I have an unsecured connection. If I refresh, I can usually get in to work, but it takes time on each website I visit. I am confident it's the phone, but have no idea beyond that.
Since the error has started, I have hard reset, re-rooted and re-flashed and gone back to stock again. Nothing seems to fix it. I've even followed a few websites which seem to try and fix this.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any idea for a fix? I'm willing to re-root and flash, but that might have been what got me into this mess in the first place. I am really out of ideas and am about to sell for parts because it's been so frustrating to deal with.
Thanks in advance!
There are several possible solutions, all listed here: https://www.thesslstore.com/blog/fix-ssl-connection-errors-android-phones/
The easiest is to check that the date/time is correct on your phone. If that is out of sync, it can cause these problems.
One other possible cause is to check the accounts on your phone. Maybe an old work account of something that is no longer active? Even if you only have one account on your phone, delete it and then add it back.
