previuosly before i do ##RTN# my LG LS970 have portable wifi hotspot, but now after i do ##RTN# the portable wifi hotspot is disapear. i try to flash back to ZVB and update to ZVC there is no portable wifi hotspot. can anybody help me how to make itu appear again?
and one more thing, the operator text change from sprint to chameleon

I have the Tilt 2 on ATT, in US. Currently running the following ROM

I turn Wifi on and off when I want Wifi/Faster internet. Is there a way to make the system use the WiFi over the 3G access when I have both on? As right now, to make it use WiFi I have to actually turn the phone connection off.
Having problems with my turning my phone into wifi hotspot (have uk orange htc desire hd chocolate). Turn on the portable wifi hostspot ok, my laptop and my archos 70i tab can both find and connect to it ok, BUT it dont work - on the laptop it just says local connection only - on the archos just wont connect to internet. most frustrating. also some problems with the data connection - phone shows the h or g icon and the arrows, but not connection when try browser etc usually works after a restart, but who wants to have to restart the phone every time you wanna use the data connection?
Any thoughts/suggestions?

I ran into the same problem yesterday. I was testing if the wifi hotspot functionality worked, to use my phone for wifi tethering. As soon as I turn on the function, my data connection (3G) is disabled.
Doe anybody know how to keep the data connection after activating the wifi hotspot function?

I was wondering if you are with orange? or are in the uk? Maybe it is something the carrier does not allow! will call orange today.

I flashed this ROM and now I can't connect to 3G or 4G. When I have the WiFi on it says 3G Claro but if I tturn off WiFi or go without wifi signal I can't connect to 3G/4G or normal internet connection.
What should I to?

Issue solved, just had to set APN from Claro PR for internet connection.
Hello, I’m new to XDA Forum and thank you in advance for answering my basic question.
Verizon Gnex stock. Wi-Fi Hot Spot?
Prior to JB OTA update I installed PDAnet, FoxFi & FoxFi Addon. The Gnex is my only net access right now. After JB update I installed SwitchPro to get a WiFi Hot Spot. I assume it’s the native one “AndroidAP”. FoxFi is now works after developer fix for JB. So I have FoxFi and SwitchPro installed but things aren’t working correctly.
SwitchPro no longer launches the native Wi-Fi “AndroidAP” but launches the FoxFi hotspot instead. ? When I launch FoxFi I now get two Wi-Fi notifications on the bar. When LTE/3g searches/toggles the FoxFi active Wi-Fi Hotspot indicates "Off" but the Gnex settings Tethering & portable hotspot indicator shows FoxFi "active". ?
I like the SwitchPro switches but also use PDAnet for USB Tether. 4g LTE reception is spotty where I live. Bounces between 4g/3g a lot but getting better.
Would someone help me properly setup the wi-fi hotspot apps and switches?

I was under the impression that since then FoxFi app was fixed for jb, and there is the addon for it, switch pro was no longer needed?
I could be wrong as I do not tether so those apps serve me no purpose.

So I flashed my metro s4 to a custom rom (wicked v4 for tmobile) since the phone is basically a tmobile phone with a few metro badges according to other threads...flashed seamlessly, works great aside from tethering.
I cant get the tethering to work anymore, before it would direct me to the metro tether page, but now the page connection (i.e google.com) times out...I am connected to the phone and my wireless connection says I have "internet access" but wont load anything.
I assume this is because the APN settings were replaced with Tmobile APN settings per the tmobile rom.
I Checked the settings and they are in fact 2 apn sets to choose from. Either tmobile LTE or tmobile tethering, I had to alter the tmobile tethering apn to get it to connect to 4g. but it wont allow my laptop to recieve any data.
Im assuming I need metro PCS's tether settings since my phone is attempting to tether through Tmobile maybe.
Anybody have that information or know how I can get this working?
On a side not I am forced to use the native tether app on the 4g instead of my original app i tried (wifi tether TrevE mod) because that doesnt seem to work...my laptop doesnt see any ssid being broadcasted with that app.
Nothing?
