I purchased this case this weekend online. My wife has one similar to it and I've kinda fallen in love with it. The price is really good in my opinion. I chose UPS Ground Shipping in my order and it came to $22. All around, even without the holster, this is really nice. I'll post a review once it arrives and I've used it for a bit.
By the way, it comes in different colors (B/W) like a black holster and a white case, white holster and black case, etc.

Would you be able to post a couple of pictures of how it looks. For example when it's holstered or just a few angles? I was looking at this case as well.

I certainly will. I'm kinda excited to get it. I bought one for my pastor at church too. He's one of those iPhone guys.
I haven't worn a hipcase in years. Not sure if I'll like that but the case itself is standalone so no holster is needed if you don't want it.

What would you say is the protection/slim ratio...if that makes sense. It's also 50% off today for Cyber Monday. On Saturday it was actually 70% off...should have grabbed it then. I just wasnt sure the quality of the company.
These are the kind that don't protect a top or bottom edges when you slide it into the case correct?

I'm pretty sure it's actually a case, and then the holster is optional if you want to use it.
Not what I asked, but thanks.
There's a lot of this style of case where the actual case, the case, not the holster, does not cover the top or bottom edge of the phone when is slid into the case, the case, not the holster.
I noticed, if you look at the link I provided, in the pictures that the top and bottom are bare in the center. The sides are protected and around the corners. To me, it's not a big deal as I'm very careful with me devices. I'm just not a major fan of adding a lot of bulk to a phone. It's big enough now and when that is in my pocket...people think I'm happy to see them. So no otterboxes or similar for me. They do have the cases without the holster that are 10 bucks. They look similar and have decent protection on the top and bottom.
Possible rebranding w/price increase.
Be aware this looks like it could be the same case rebranded as the MaxBoost cases that are less expensive...

Nice...probably the same company but selling "seconds" under a different name. Good find if you want to save a couple bucks.

They offer several different ones, that look decent and aren't too expensive by any means. Just a heads up, for those of you who are looking for a new case. I'm probably going to order the fake leather one and the 'magnet gray' one as well.

The leather one look cheap and tacky to me. These cases are nice but they don't seem to cover enough of the phone for me.
They look like the cheap (construction-wise) snap on cases. For $30, just get the Seidio Innocase. It's way better in my opinion.
Seidio Innocase II Surface - Black, Amazon
Black and other colors, Seidio Online
On Amazon I got it a week ago for $20, so maybe check a few times they drop the price every once in a while I think.
i got the same case that incipio made for $10 over at Fry's electronics

I didn't want this to be a comparison thread. I simply wanted to point out there are alternative cases out there on the market.
I'm really glad you pointed these out. I used to have a Barely There case on my old iPhone and these look pretty similar to that (I really liked it). I've been waiting for a case like this! Since Case Mate doesn't make any for the Atrix, I might get one of these. The colors aren't great, but I hate cases that snap together...
Thanks OP. Just ordered the magnet grey one. Will update when it arrives.

Sure thing. I should have it tomorrow.
Just ordered the grey one, hopefully it arrives on Monday!
So can someone explain what exactly this case feels like? I don't REALLY get what a "rubberized satin finish" means... In the past I've used the case-mate barely there cases, which I like because they're not squishy or really rubbery and such. This pure gear case looks solid, but it says it's rubberized so I dunno.
And while I'm asking, what exactly is a TPU case (like this one: http://www.amazon.com/Amzer-Argyle-High-Gloss-Soft-Gel-Motorola/dp/B004L2L6JM/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1304100403&sr=8-6)
Is it similar to the pure gear material?

Just got mine. First impression is this thing is nice! One of the thinnest cases/shells I've ever seen. Just went into our QA dept to use a caliper and it only measures .86mm or .034" thick. The texture feels almost exactly like my old G1 did. Doesn't feel like it's going to be a lint magnet either. The grey color is a bit lighter than I was expecting too but not too light. It fits OVER the existing battery cover and fits nice and snug. No give in any direction at all. Overall I like it it so far.
I'll post pictures tonight when I get home.

TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) is basically like a mix of a hard shell and a silicon cover. It's quite flexible, although not flimsy like a silicon cover.... and it's durable.... able to withstand quite a bit and still return to it's original shape. Actually recorded a video of me squeezing the crap out of one such TPU case that i got on eBay because of someone in another thread questioning the quality of the eBay cases.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=700ZNRtNEOA
As for "rubberized satin".... i believe it's basically a quite smooth yet soft feel.... not like a silicon, but not quite like a hard rubber case either. Hard to explain, really. If i had to guess, i'd say it might be similar to the Barely There case, but i'm not sure as i've never used either.
Here's some glamor shots of mine.
Hmm.... not too shabby looking. I may just order one.
edit: Just ordered the deep plum colored one. Only did ground shipping, as i didn't really feel like paying the same amount for shipping as i did for the case.... so it may be a little while.
Thanks for all the info guys! I always wondered what all these different types of plastic cases are. Thanks for the pics too, they inspire me to order one! Has anyone gotten the blue? How does it look in real life?

Thanks for providing the link.
First off - let me disclaimer this:
Some people want the Fort Knox of cases. They are clumsy with their phone. They've experienced dropping their phone several feet to the ground. They want impact protection. The G-Shock of phone cases. And they aren't afraid to carry something the size of a brick with the appearance of something from Toys 'R Us in trade for that protection. No problem. Obviously there's no shortage of THOSE cases.
My problem is that there ONLY seem to be cases made for those kinds of people.
I'm looking for a case that more or less barely wraps the phone - not for impact resistance, but abrasion resistance, light protection from scratches. I keep my phone in my pocket 100% of the time, and I'm more than respectfully careful when it's out - call me paranoid. But I know from experience with [all my other phones that I've never bought a case for] that light scratches can appear over time.
One of the BEST things about the SGS2 is the thin profile of the phone - and I'm already disappointed to have lost 1mm of that thinness, but willing to live with it. With a phone this size already, I'm not willing to lose millimeters more. It's supposed to be a thin phone.
Jokes about Apple lawsuits aside, I wish there were a case more akin to the iPhone 4's bumper case - something that offered just minimal protection - when setting the phone down, perhaps a little impact protection of the phone were to fall - but not taking away from the overall thin profile of the phone with an enveloping, thick back panel. Hell, if I eventually had to replace the battery door, I can do that for less than the cost of a new case anyway.
Are there any cases for guys who want thin? Who don't want it for impact protection, just simple, pocketable, wear protection against minor scratches and the like? And - can that case look classy?
I've only seen this one, but it's for the regular SGSII, not the sprint version:
http://www.case-mate.com/Samsung-Ga...-S-II-Barely-There-Brushed-Aluminum-Cases.asp
Even that wraps fully around the phone and adds thickness... it merely offers the promise of being thin.
What's the thinnest option out there, if impact resistance weren't a concern?
I got my tpu case on with out the back battery cover, and it feels fairly thin, and will still provide some protection. The case is without the back cover stay flush with the camera. I am going to order another one with matte finish.
The TPU's are good and cheap too. A good holdover until the barelythere comes out...which I predict will be within a couple weeks.

The TPU-cases are really nice, and I was surprised that it didn't add much thickness at all. I did post a review here, along with some pictures.
The carbon kickstand case you can get at the store is perfect imo. The phone feels no bigger with it on.
I wish Rearth (http://www.rearthusa.com/) would make a case for the ET4G, but last I emailed them they weren't intererested at this time since A) it wasn't out yet, and B) they didn't anticipate high demand for it.

How's that sprint kickstand case? Is it the fold into a triangle kick stand or an actual bar that pops up? It looks similar to my buddy's trianglish plastic kickstand case on his tmobile GSI vibrant and that thing is a piece of junk. Fits the phone like it was chisselled out of plastic, looks like $hit.
For $30 it better be sexy.

Not a triangle but a little wider than most bar kickstands I've seen. My gripe with that case is it doesn't cover the top and bottom of the phone, it fits more like a holster than a case. And for $30 thats IMO unacceptable.
I'm waiting for seidio to make a case for this phone, loved the innocase I have on my hero and it wasnt very thick at all.
How about a stick on skin if you want the thinnest "cover" possible?

I'm using a gloss-black TPU at the moment (and loving it) but I'm really considering one of those kickstands. I've put my phone in one a few times. It looks good but for the money it feels really inadequate.
Thanks for all the good suggestions...
I did actually read that review of the TPU case... one of my coworkers has one on his 3D. In his case, it covered the camera hump and made the phone thinner - the implementation on this phone seems much better.
For the money, it's tempting to at least as a stop gap to use for a few months to see what becomes available - or I'll just use none as a stop gap, like I've done with all my other phones. This one just seems like a phone worthy of babying more than I already do baby my lifeline.
A skin... I'm not aware of any, but I'm initially cringing thinking of what kind of vinyl wrap that may imply... cartoon characters, immature sayings, dragons and swords, flames, or what? Maybe something that's just a texture or color?

Just emailed support to ask with a link to the item listed; I should hear back in next couple of days. From the listing, it looks like the kind of site that sells to 3rd party vendors, and since the packaging says Sprint branded, I suspect this is meant for non-corporate Sprint stores. Just a guess, but I will update if I hear anything back.
PS I bought the kickstand case and I kinda hated it, returned it within the hour... felt flimsy and overpriced, and it was more of a bad holster than a case; barely held the phone in and the kickstand was very tough to un-clip. I never say a product is not for anyone, but it certainly wasn't for me.

I'm having major kickstand withdrawals since upgrading from my EVO 4G.

I tried it on my phone and it felt incredibly cheap, tacky color/design, and lack of real protection. If it fits your needs then awesome. For me I am kinda rough on things and like protection all around. I can appreciate the usefulness of a kickstand.
I also would like a little more protection. It seems like most of the kickstand cases are hard plastic, but I at least want a gel/silicone insert something like the otterbox commuter often has.
Hopefully they start actually releasing some good cases for this phone soon.

Oh, the black and white ones don't look too bad at all. Price is a little high, but this is very close to what I'm looking for. I really like the grippy edges. I'm hoping that a case will make my power and volume buttons a bit harder to push on accident (which I am constantly doing).

That is a good deal alright, but that case isn't for the T-Mobile version. Those are still listed as 'coming soon' on the Case Mate site.
lol...that i didn't know..guess can't get it for cheap yet.
Casemate is still taking forever to get their T-Mobile cases out, even after some rumors that they were coming a couple weeks ago. http://www.case-mate.com/pulse/samsung-carriers.asp . Looks like if it does come out, they will be asking $35.00 (same as Sprint and International price).
Trident said they were going to do their Kraken kickstand case for the TMO SGS2, but then when it came time to ship cases, they ended up only shipping the Aegis case (no kickstand) (http://www.tridenteer.com/categories/Samsung-Galaxy-S-II-(T%2dMobile)/ - $29.95).
But it does look like Seidio has finally shipped a kickstand case, http://www.seidioonline.com/t-mobile-samsung-galaxy-s-II-active-case-black-p/csk3ssg2tk-bk.htm . There is a review for the case here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1336684 . Priced at $34.95. There is a 15% off promo code for this case, "Winter11".

I've placed my order for the Sapphire and Amethyst ACTIVE cases from Seidio. There is one review in the linked thread with pictures and then only one other user who made some general comments.
There are no reviews yet on Amazon, but the cases are listed there for the same price (no promo code). Amazon has the black in stock and the others shipping in 2-3 weeks.
I have the Seidio Active, switching from Ballistic. There is a big difference in feeling, mostly due to the Ballistic being so big and harder to press the buttons. I needed something with a belt clip, and I've gone with the Active series for my last 2 phones (HTC Sensation, LG G2x). It's a great combo all in all.

Thats not what she said...
I just picked up one of these a couple hours ago at a local sprint shack. I do wish it had a bit more coverage, specifically top and bottom. But I've found (through multiple drops already) that the phone itself is pretty sturdy, it's just that the battery cover pops off way too easy, which usually equals battery popping out as well. So this case will do what I mainly want, which is to keep the battery in And I think the kickstand will be useful!
i just saw one hands on for a co-workers phone. i actually like it. found it on amazon for $15.93 (free shipping) and ebay for $13.99 (free shipping). i like the white case-mate pop, but this seems a bit thinner with a better kick-stand.
Just bought one off ebay for 13.99. I have the pop case which I like, but it is too thick
I ordered mine from Amazon, $13.26 with free shipping. will give feedback once received.
Got mine the other day (my 7th case for the touch...). It doesn't cover the top or bottom very well but it is thinner than the casemate pop case. If you want thin and a kickstand, this is the way to go.
Like mine, it stands up fine on its side (landscape).
I wish there was a non-textures version
mine arrived yesterday and so far I really like it. was surprised at how nice it looks too, very sleek but still the manly style. the kickstand is sturdy and due to the size, my phone still fits the same leather holster and the garmin windshield holder.

this is the exact one I'm using... will likely always use this brand as they make good quality products.

they have it in all black as well, just search around on Amazon.
This case also fits in the seidio surface holster as well.
FYI for anyone interested in this case. I just ordered one on ebay for $8.99 with free shipping. It is on "Sale" from $9.99 for the next 6 days (until 12/19/11?) according to the ebay post.
Just search on ebay for "Body Glove Samsung Epic 4G Touch". The pic shows the gray version but the model number is correct and it only comes in black for the ET4G.
I got the cibo s case but thinking maybe cancel that and get this. how much thickness does it add?
I just got this case yesterday, and so far I'm pleased with the sturdiness and build. It does add some bulk to the back of the phone. On the phone without a case, the bottom back of the phone sticks out more versus the top of the phone. With this case, it now has a flat back with a little more girth. That will give you a sense of how much thickness the case adds to the phone. Hope that makes sense.
I do wish this case was a little grippier (if that's a word). Still a little slick in my hands, but easy to get in and out of my pockets. Overall, I'm please with this case, especially for the price. My main thing I needed in a case was the kickstand. My son watches shows on my phone when we are out and it makes it so much more convenient with this case.

just got the body glove case in the mail, the kickstand is a really useful feature but I feel the cibo s case offers much better grip since it has a cross hash pattern on the edges. I say protection wise it's better also because the top/bottom are not open (and I suspect if the phone were to ever fall, it would pop out of the body glove). the extra thickness is not a problem though.
If you search for "galaxy s3 grid armband" on eBay, you'll find it. I bought from "wanghaostore".
It's also listed under other names, you can search further under "galaxy s3 sport armband" once you know what the auction picture looks like.
The armband came a bit folded in half probably from shipping, I need to set something heavy on it to flatten it out....
Fit
The armband fits really good. All the buttons are accessible. You can change the volume while running, as well as easily access the ports and power button.
The armband also works with cases! As you can see in the last picture I have my diztronic TPU case on it.
Feel
The material is a little scratchy, but overall it's comfortable and will stay put on the arm. It's a tech-fabric material with what looks like a nylon weave "cushion" underneath.
It should be pretty sweat-resistant, the material where the phone sits is neoprene, so it shouldn't absorb sweat or scratch the phone.
The strap length is a bit on the short side. It fits for me, I have 13-14 inch biceps. It could probably go up to 19-20 inch biceps, but beyond that you might need a different holster. Smallest it could go is probably around 11-12 inches.
Usability
I always have problems with the plastic screen protector on armbands bubbling up. With this one the case stretches it, so I can easily use the phone while its on my arm. I don't anticipate issues being able to slide or use Pandora.
The main benefit of the armband is also its biggest detriment: All the ports are exposed. Don't plan on using it in the rain. But for a sunny day, or indoors at the gym, it's a great holder.
Price - $1.99 + $1.50 shipping on eBay.
So buy 5, so you can replace it if it becomes stanky from sweat.
Good review. Do you think it will fit those with extended batteries with a tpu case?

Maybe. Its thick enough, there's plenty of vertical space.
My friends phone with incipio silicrylic case fits. Bit tight (width-wise, height has plenty of room),
May even fit with otter box.

Thanks. Don't mind taking a risk since the price is good

Ah, yeah, same here. I was pleasantly surprised, I would say it is the best armband on the market right now.
It may not work with extended battery + TPU case (depends how thick), but I'm fairly confident in saying it'll at least work with the extended battery.
There are a lot of complaints about the Belkin armbands absorbing water/sweat.
I had the iArmbands style for my last phone, they suck.
I might get one of the iGadgitz or CrazyOnDigital type for rain, but this will be my primary-use one, since I don't have to take off the case.
Looks like it's $4. shipped now.

There's a few that are at the cheaper price.

Nice review !
Is it possible you could post a picture with the arm holster on, just to see how it fits ?
And how long was the shipping time ? From where to where ?

Shipped from hong kong. I bought it on the 24th (weekend), shipped on the 28th, in america on the 30th, and delivered on august 3rd (midwest).
I'll try to get a picture with it on my arm.
I was thinking of actually making a custom armband, any thoughts? I've seen people do it for their iphones

I've thought of this too. I'm intrigued by the Tetrax and whether it would be stable (mostly because I've been thinking about getting one for my car).

It'd be interesting to get one of the FIX connectors and epoxy it to some sort of strap, like the TuneBand.
Or you could get a cheap case and make your own TuneBand
Is this the same armband? http://www.amazon.com/JKase-Armband...&keywords=armband+galaxy+s3#productPromotions
Much rather do $10 for 2 day delivery then have to wait. But the bigger question is, do you think SGP Neo Hybrid case fit (well that is, not ridiculously tight!)? http://www.amazon.com/SPIGEN-SGP-Protection-Protector-International/dp/B008MEIQHA

Wrong button, enjoy the thanks.
NO. That is not the right one.
I actually bought that one through eBay, it sucks. The one I got, the phone doesn't fit in it (not even without the case, it kept pressing the volume button). And the strap is huge, the arm band wouldn't fit on my arm. I ended up throwing it away.
As far as the arm band goes, it should easily fit with the SGP Neo. The diztronic, despite being thin on the back, is quite thick around the sides.
