One of the things I really like about this phone is the stock "Music player" app. I like the UI, the EQs and the Sense me feature. Is the ICS version similar?

Overall appearance is the same, for the most part. The features are all still there... EQ, Simulated environment, etc. But with ICS, you also get the visualizations. I don't recall seeing those on GB.
And in ICS this app under "Walkman" name, which one I'm like better when just "music player"

Cool. Thanks everybody.

visually it's better but I prefer Google's music player overall since I can stream and dl my music from the cloud. No visual flair beats that.
Yea but Google music eats up data soo fast its not funny

Lol any music streaming service eats up data, but who's gonna be dumb enough to stream music on a data plan? I just dl my music onto my phone over wifi at home or any other wifi location.

Well, its not really about that. I have an "unlimited data plan" from AT&T but they throttle my speed and send me texts saying I'm being excessive and elite like in the top 3% of usage. So its really not all that UNLIMITED. Besides, its just not all that effective to stream music even while charging in the car because of the dead spots along the road. Really kills the spirit and mood when getting into the song. So, there's a bit more to it. Streaming librarys is just not all that it's advertised to be imo.

Lol that's why you download the albums or playlists at home using wifi. Besides, you have every single song from your music collection at your disposal by using Google music no matter where you are. Yeah, streaming is only as good as your data connection, assuming you don't just dl what you want beforehand at home on WIFI, but I'd rather carry my entire collection in my pocket than lugging it around on my laptop.

Does the music player detect the music stored on external sd. For me it does not.
Am I missing something?

It's weird. I put my music on the external card and the phone copied the music to the internal sd card. So I deleted the music from the external. I guess it likes to live on the internal card. A Sony thing?

Hi, I'm using a Tmobile Galaxy S3 running stock rooted 4.1.2 and I have uninstalled the default music app from samsung because I don't like it.
I'd like to set Google's Play Music app as my default. I do have Amazon's MP3 Player because there are vouchers for free mp3s' every now and then.
The problem is that when I enter my car, bluetooth starts automatically the Amazon MP3 Player instead of the Play Music app. Same case when I plug in my headphones and press play it launches Amazon MP3 app. As of now I froze the app using Titanium Backup, but that is a workaround only.
How can I make the Play Music my Default music app?
Undefault the amazon app by going through settings and apps manager and unselecting default app.

At first I thought this will work but the app is not set to default.
Than that is weird lol. I don't use the app so I can't tell you on what to do. Never seen this brought up either, at least not in our section. It isn't an S3 only issue so you may want to try Googling it.

Hi!
I would really LOVE to control my Spotify through the QuickCircle case!
I can't possibly be the only one? Hope to see this soon!
-Sorry for my English
Someone has already said they will be making a music /media controls app for QuickCircle, this won't be a fully functioning Spotify app but will let you play pause skip tracks etc.
Same for users of Google Play Music

Ok guys I've been searching for this answer for a long time to no avail. Hopefully someone can help.
I use miracast a lot to watch movies on my big screen. The LG video app has a function called dual play which allows the movie I'm watching to play on my tv while i can still do other things on my phone like surf xda without interrupting the movie playing. Does anyone know of any other video app that has this functionality i can use on aosp roms????
Guess not lol
