Hello all! Just got my new Nexus 7, and I was wondering if your buttons feel mushy at all. Because mine feel do feel a bit mushy, its really my only complaint with the build quality. Do you think I should return it, or do you not think its a big deal?

Unless the buttons are made of marshmallows...
If you can try a demo model at a local electronic store, you can compare yours with the demo model.
Ha. I thought about that. The power button is also slanted on one side ever so slightly. Its a little uneven. Oh well. I don't feel like exchanging it. Not a huge deal.

Some are mush like that, some are firm.
If you use a case with magnetic smart wake, you don't even notice the power button anymore because you hardly ever use it.
I'm thinking of getting one of those. Are yours like that?

I know mine is like that will the case on. It really is not noticeable with the case on. :good:
The buttons are the one thing I dislike about the nexus. Mushy garbage. I saw a tutorial on here about popping the nexus open to fix. Apparently glue from manufacturing process gets in there and jacks it up.

Only issue I have with this case is the power button is hard to press. I have tried to use the standard and extended battery and still have issues with it. The case itself is very rigid however making it a solid choice compared to the slightly looser feel of the Diztronic (Which I'm using right now). I would say if you can get past the power button, the case is a solid choice.

LTE here, That's good to hear though that it does loosen up over time. I just could not take the hassle of pressing the power button like that until it did though.
ahh well
I am thinking about getting this case.. but i am not sure how it fits the gsm version :/

This is the one problem I have with this case as well. The way I end up holding my hand to get good leverage to push the power button in causes me to often also hit the volume rocker with the other side of my hand. Other than that, great case.

Creepy - Causing fear or unease.
The back cover of the Nexus 4 elicits unease from me. Its like a bad disco party on the back of your phone

I personally like it, because it's not boring and dull
Swyped on my Galaxy Nexus running AOKP with Franco Kernel
I think it looks cool, you can only see it from certain angles so it's a really nice subtle touch.
I like how it doubles as a disco ball for those times when I need one.

I heard there's a mod that lets you use the display's backlighting to illuminate the back cover in various patterns for that purpose.

I think that on android police there was pre review. They took some photos and said, the back isn't that sparkly. Marketing photos over exaggerate back panel...

I agree it's design looks creepy, metaphorically speaking.
IMO the Nexus 4 looks like a fake Gnex, but I'm sure it's looks will grow on me.
Well, to my mind, the idea of those dots on back side is good, it looks new and unusual (I mean new in the mobile phone world, generally it reminds some old Chinese toys), but for me it has some significant shortcomings:
straight. Galaxy Nexus has a kind of wave there, and a small hill at the bottom helped to grab it more confident, this one appears to be hold only due to glass-to-skin rubbing;
glass. If you don't like fingerprints and tried to clean the front side of GN every time after touching it, now you have to clean both sides and you just cannot hold it without setting you fingerprints everywhere.
feel. Cold glass is going to feel much more impersonal and indifferent, than the GN's plastic, even if it is not soft-touch.
So I would say it looks more weird, than creepy.
Don't worry. Once it gets dropped a couple times the sparkley look will change to the shattered look.
The only creepy part is when you drop it the wrong way; the dots will be replaced by jagged lines.
Well the back glass is supposed to be a Lil sunk in from the band around it.... not sure if that matters. So when it lays on the table the glass won't be touching it. So maybe it will protect it somewhat

Sigh... that's just the cheap build quality of the Galaxy S3. It's just a minor annoyance when I used my S3. I just got my S4 and let me tell you the buttons are much sturdier and better integrated. The back though, still feels rather cheap and flimsy. The S4 feels much, much, much lighter in the hand than the S3, like a feather.

The s4 is only 3 grams lighter, I honestly don't think it feels much, much, much lighter. Just saying. But yeah the buttons on the s4 are a bit better then the s3.

Anyone else notice a little lifting on the screen/bezel right around the charging port? Creaking when bezel is pressed? CONFIRMED.
Sorry to hear ,mine is pretty solid to me.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I hear a little clicking sound when squeezing gentle on the bezel in that area, but the glass in that area looks flat and properly installed. I also noticed a very small sensor of some kind, centered in the bezel, just above the charging port. Probably just the hardware under there touching when it is squeezed. IMHO. Nothing that's making me unhappy!!

Oh no.. Not this again. Please guys, don't go squeezing it all over looking for a squeak.
If you can visibly see a lift than rma it. If you are squeezing it all over looking for a sqeak then you have way to much time on your hands..

Just saying, I would hope on the second time around ASUS would have figured this out. With my first gen N7 I had to take it apart and jam a qtip in it to help with the screen lift issue but this model doesn't look like it comes apart as easily. Fingers crossed it doesn't get any worse or its going back. Never had any problems like this with any of my other tablets.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Mine is rock solid. No creaks at all.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Mine does. And my screen now seems a bit unresponsive. It won't respond to some of my touches often and I'd have to press hard. Not sure if its the screen protector I put on it (though it didn't have that problem before) or the screen lift.
Asus, you suck.
Mine used to be good, it now creaks very audibly when pressed on the top left area.
Maybe the glue dried out lol?
Sucks that I had this same issue on my 2012 nexus 7.
Asus....Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me...

I have one in red! It looks really nice and I love the look of the metal. The only issue I have is the silicone part isn't the most snug fit and sometimes an edge of the phone might come out of the case when I took it out of my pocket. I don't think the whole phone would come out or anything..I'm just picky.

Sure. Let me know if you'd like any more angles. Sorry for the crappy photos.
Thank you for the pictures. Would you recommend it?
Sent from my One using xda app-developers app
If you're looking for protection, I probably wouldn't recommend it. There really isn't much of a lip over the screen and the top corners seem to slip off a little too easily. It's not like the whole case would accidentally fall off though since the metal part helps to keep it somewhat rigid.
If you're looking for style, then go for it. It's definitely a unique case.
Heads up, if you actually buy it from Mindplar.com it's $45 with shipping and comes with an assumingly cheap battery bank. A little bit cheaper.

This case does indeed look night, I never spend this much on a case but I might have to, maybe I will wait for a few other reviews.
These are pretty sharp looking. I have only been using a sleeve, but might have to consider this. I think Eddie Van Halen would approve of the red one.

I seen 1 million cover for htc one but i never seen this one before ! thanks , probably i'll purchase this , seems really good
Just got mine in the mail. Came with a free 1000 mAh power bank.
Didn't realize that the IR port was covered, no big deal though. I can use a nail to put a hole in there.
Kind of disappointed that the "metal" part is glued on, and it doesn't wrap around the lip like other hybrid cases.
The case itself is very slim. If you have a glass screen protector it wouldn't wrap around it. Looks really great in hand though.

So looking at the pictures previously posted, is the rubber very...rubbery? lol like the ports seem very loosely cut (charging port) and the edges seem like very rounded. I am used to the UAG case and think the cuts and lines are so sharp that this case (while looking pretty rad) has some variances in quality
am i right?
