"Fintie" 360 degrees rotating case - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Accessories

Hi,
I'd be very glad if I could receive some feedback on Fintie 360 degrees rotating case.
IMO it looks better than similar ones from MoKo or COD
That's just pictures though. Haven't seen any of them IRL.
I would like to hear thoughts on the feel and build quality of the Fintie case if someone owns it.
What I'm especially interested in is whether the magnet interferes with the digitizer? would the magnet damage the digitizer in long-term?
PS: and a general question about 360 degree rotating cases: Can you flip them all the way back for one handed reading?
Thanks in advance!

[Q] book cover case for 10.1

any review or comment on book cover case by samsung....
Mine just came today, previously I used a cheap fake leather case that made the tablet big an bulky, and it didn't feel very nice (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Black-Lea...ting_LaptopAccessories_RL&hash=item27c2fcc11c).
So I decided to buy the official book case from amazon, I didn't think it would be very nice, but it came today and I am very impressed. It looks very nice and expensive on the tablet. As in it looks premium, and not cheap like my fake leather case. It fits the tablet perfectly. It doesn't feel like a chore to have the case on, it actually makes the tablet very nice and very comfortable to hold. I would strongly recommend this case.
It feels nice, it's the thinnest book style case I have seen by a lot. It looks very nice & premium, and it will protect your precious tab. The only downside is that it is a bit expensive, and the weight with the case on is noticeably more + the cheap leather one is a lot more bulky and will provide slightly better protection at the expense of comfort and looks. I think it really is the best case by far for this tab, nothing come close in my opinion. I hope this helps you.
I was your 60th...
Had to thank you though because I'm looking for a great case.

Thank you very much
I've also got the Samsung Book Cover Case. I like it a lot except for one issue:
In typing angle, the tab is actually upside down. This causes 2 problems:
1. some apps that force landscape mode will default to the right-side-up landscape mode and therefore appear upside down. There doesn't seem to be any way to override this behavior on the tablet so you're force to physically rotate the tab and either lay it flat or use a steeper angle.
2. With the tab upside down, the ambient light sensor gets covered by the shadow of your hands while typing (or even swiping, tapping) so that the auto brightness feature keeps dimming and undimming the screen. It's pretty annoying. At least there's a workaround - you can disable the auto brightness.
Still, I'm thinking of trying one of the smartcover cases since those will let you set a shallow or steep angle with the tab right-side-up in either case.
Anyone compare the samsung case to a smart cover case. I'd be curious if they are any heavier or bulkier.
Oh, I'm also a little concerned the crease where the flap bends will eventually crack. Has this been an issue or is it pretty sturdy?
Thanks!

Seidio Surface case with Kickstand

Here's a quick review of the Seidio Surface case with Kickstand:
I've always enjoyed having Seidio cases on my phones and I've had many. The surface of the case is just sticky enough to give you some grip but not so much that it picks up lint from your pocket.
It's a two piece case that slides over the phone from the top and bottom with the split being about 1/4 inch below the bottom of the volume rocker. All the cutouts are accurately placed and are big enough to give you full access. Case removal is easy if needed.
The edges of the case in the screen area line up with the edge of the bezel and the screen so you don't lose any screen area.
My one beef is with the kickstand. In the description it says it can be used both landscape and portrait. The kickstand spring is not able to hold up the phone in portrait orientation making it useless. In landscape it will hold up but the phone tends to rock quite a bit due to the curved edges.
Overall the case is on the expensive side compared to other offerings out there. (around $30 US) but the build quality is top notch (sans kickstand).
Gotta post pics, my man.

I just received a Surface case without the kickstand option. I figured I didn't need it as I got the matching holster. So far I'm pleased with the combo however the holster does block the top Moto X microphone limiting our "ok google now" functionality. I plan to let them know there needs to be a hole and will probably drill one in the holster myself.
The case itself is clearly overpriced, the holster seems well made and possibly justifies the price a little more other then missing a needed hole.
Kick Stand case for MOTO X
I am using this kick stand case for my MOTO X and its quite good one too but still I am wondering to order a Seido one as I have also used its cases in the past and they are pretty much better one to be considered for the phone protection so just wiling to get one....

I have the same case and enjoyed it on my GS3. However, like you said, the curvature of this phone causes the device to wobble on the kickstand in landscape mode. It doesn't bother me too much, but the wobble is definitely enough to be noticeable and cause some to find other protective options. (especially when you're gonna drop over $30)
I wanted to clear up though, that on Seidio's website it clearly states that the stand DOES NOT support portrait orientation. Here is the quote from their website with a link....
The built-in metal kickstand can be used in landscape orientation for a hands free experience when viewing multimedia, managing photo slideshows, and displaying clocks and calendars. ACTIVE® with Metal Kickstand does not support device in portrait orientation.

I purchased mine through the Android Central store. They still have it listed as landscape or portrait. I never did read the description from the Seidio store so that's where the confusion comes in.
http://www.shopandroid.com/seidio-surface-case-with-kickstand/4AA15163.htm
Best Buy also sells these cases under the platinum brand with kickstand and plain with holster. 35 and 40 respectively.
I recently purchased a Seidio kickstand combo case from ebay. Got the red one... hopefully I like it!
Right now I have one of those knockoff "Caseformer" combo cases, and I really don't like it. The edge the wraps around the side and front of the screen is too tall and it interferes with typing and some general usage of the phone. Hope that the Seidio isn't as thick!
Here's a link so you can see what I'm talking about: http://www.amazon.com/CASEFORMERS-A...=1383794004&sr=8-2&keywords=caseformer+moto+x
Got this case too. Always loved seidio. Had in my S3 and iPhone. Now got for my Moto X. But I am having a big problem with the case interfering with the cameras flash. The case does not lay flat to the camera. So when the flash goes off, it reflects back into the camera and photos becomes filled with flash. Got a replacement because I thought I had a defective case. Same problem with new one. Without case, no problem. Anyone has the problem? In light lit room, take a pic with flash on. THx.

I have this case but never noticed the flash issue. Will check it out the next time I use it.

wow, this looks good. anyone have experience with the company?
Just ordered one of these which will be with me in a few weeks from Hong Kong. Should be a nice compromise between a hard case + screen protector with no screen protector and one of these.
Looks far less bulky than a wallet case too.
Nice find
I've just ordered one too :good:

~5£ including shipping on aliexpress, also ships from china so will probably take 20+ days but I think i'll probably get this and a clear bumper case like spigen or orzly.

I don't know which one is better, both are interesting. My only doubt, for both products, is the back quality, as for what I understood they clasp directly on the mattee surface of the phone. If the cover is badly cut, then back scratches are possible... so I think I'll wait for some feedback first

For the price, quality, slimness this case represents a very value :good:

Cool, any chance for some pictures? Would be cool to see some real pics of it.
yes pictures please!!!! how is the material? hard or soft? do the cutouts align properly?
I just got one about 5 days ago but they just ship out on 26. Will update some pics as soon as I received it
mine just arrived and I would concur that it is very nicely made, fits very snugly against the phone. If it have a hole for the notification light, and a small suction cup to keep the cover closed like the pudini it would be perfect! Let me know if you want me to take more pictures.

It have a magnet to do the sleep/wake function but the magnet isn't strong enough keep it closed, hence my comment having suction cup thing
Looks cool !! But for $7 is a bit hard to trust the leather quality ...
Mine just arrived and man this thing is heavy for a case but is very good quality for £6.50 including shipping. It's so much nicer now that the screen wakes up as soon as you open the case.
All in all very impressed.
Garbage
This case is crap guys. The material feels nasty and tends to grip pocket lining making it difficult to slide in and out. The flip cover seems to be fashioned out of metal (based on the weight and rigidity) and I have noticed signal reception fluctuating with flap orientation. I get that it's a $10 and expectations are low, but you can do much better than this. Anyone tried to the Nilikin or can recommend any other quick cover knockoffs?
Today I looked for a leather case with a sleep/wake magnet.
Until now 3 out of 5 do not have a magnet - the other's answer is still outstanding.
However what I really don't get is: Why does no case have a cut-out for the notification light. I would even say, that this is more crucial than the cut-out for the earpiece.
Or does anyone know such a case?

eBay Smart Cover - Opinions

I will have my Note 10.1 by Friday, and in preparation, I've been searching for a case. I don't care for the bulky cases. Having owned 3 HP Touchpads, I've come to like the Folio cases. The Samsung genuine notebook smart cover looks to be the equivalent. However, it's only available in black and white, and is on the pricey side, IMO.
Does anyone have any experience with these eBay style cases? They're available in 10 colors, and exactly what I'm looking for. Just curious to know the build quality, as I don't generally trust stuff from china, as china is the land of cheap copy's.

This case (or at least the similar looking one I ordered) is absolutely terrible.
The one I ordered is from seller "bigeyestore" with item #151170648607.
Issues:
1) The magnets on the smart cover are too strong, meaning that when the cover is flipped 180 degrees behind the tablet, the screen turns off.
2) The magnets for the stand on the back of the cover are too strong, and affect the accuracy of the S-pen near the center of the screen. Straight lines --> wavy lines.
3) The tolerances for the case are way too tight. I could not remove the tablet from the case without cracking the corners.
After I told the seller about the issues, they offered me a $2.00 refund... and then never delivered.
I now use a Poetic Slimline case.
Here is a picture of the magnet interference. Lines drawn with a straightedge come out wavy.

Damn, that's unfortunate. I really like the look of the orange case.
I have seen several posts here and on another forum I frequent and problems with overly strong magnets seem to be common. There are apps that will prevent the screen turning off in such situations but I very much doubt that they will fix the wavy lines.
I just went ahead and ordered the red poetic slimline. Price was the same.
Sent from my SM-P600 using XDA Premium HD app
FYI I have a magnet problem with the poetic slimline case too though (albeit minor).
The magnets on the flap the covers the screen aren't strong enough to hold the cover closed and it will flip open whenever I pick it up. Other than that I really like how the white slimline case looks. Anyone else have the the same magnet problem?

True User Review, Moto 360 Watch Bumper Case By Shapeways, My First Post On XDA!

Hi everyone from XDA Developers forum!
This is my first post hopefully it won't be too bad! Just want to mention first I am only a customer of this product and I have no benefits by writing this post besides sharing it with all the Moto 360 users. Also, the product you receive might be different from the one I got because it is a 3D printed product. Hope you all understand.
I recently ordered the Moto 360 Bumper Case (tall) in black color from Shapeways. Here are my thoughts in the points below:
1. Order Speed:
Took them a little more than a week to complete the production, and that's totally understandable if they produce a lot of products. Shipping time just depends on your location.
2. Packaging:
Very impressive. They used a very big box (around 20cm x 15cm x 10cm) to ship the super tiny bumper case to make sure it doesn't break during the shipping process. Nice job!
3. Quality:
It is pretty fragile because it is a very thin and light weight 3D printed product. I don't think it is a good idea to put pressure on it when it is not on the watch. But when it is on the watch, it becomes pretty sturdy because of the steel ring of the watch. I think the quality is acceptable considering the price and material used.
4. Installation:
Very easy, just need to "clip" it onto your Moto 360 just like a hard phone case. Since the bumper case has a sand paper type of surface (both outside and inside the bumper case ring), I put a layer of tape on my Moto 360 before clipping the bumper case on to make sure it doesn't scratch my watch (I have the silver Moto 360). The layer of tape did not affect clipping the bumper case on. (but I know putting tape in between sounds weird, just in case, haha)
5. Fitting:
As you can see from the pictures, it fits very well on the Moto 360 with all the cutouts aligned pretty much perfectly. The bumper case does not affect the power button, mic (it might be the tape that I put on affecting the reception of the mic, haha), or charging (the watch does NOT sit perfectly on the charging dock like before but that's ok for me. As long as it charges)
6. Last point but the most important one, the LOOK!
Check out all the pictures I posted. I like the look of the bumper case on my Moto 360! I have black watch bands (with or without the cuff, the watch bands I got allows me to switch styles for different occasions). I actually like the sand paper type of surface because it gives the watch a tougher look. I think this part really depends on a lot of factors and it is very a personal preference. If I have metal of different color watch bands, I think it might not fit the look. Also, if you are wearing suits and ties, it might not look as elegant as before. So I will just leave it to you to decide whether or not it looks good to you. Just want to share my thoughts on the major concern that people have (I think, haha)
Sorry for the long post and hope my first post on the XDA forum helps you all!
(somehow I am not sure how to upload images, if you cannot see the pictures, let me know!)
First off..welcome to XDA. Secondly, nice write up and thanks for taking the time to do so but the question that is lingering in the back of my mind is....you DO realize that bumpers make the watch EXTREMELY large! The size of it, looking at your pictures, is something akin to those toy spy watches you can buy....Wow

I wouldnt. Sure the 360 isnt a "small" watch, but adding the bumper makes it look like a hockey puck! (THATS a bit of a stretch but still) . I have smaller wrists like the guy who wrote this. When a watch with an added bumper becomes bigger then your wrist...thats TOO large

I don't have this particular bumper but I do have the silicone ones from Snug (review in this forum). As someone with smaller wrists also and with actual experience with the bumpers, you're exagerating. The bumpers are a couple of milimeters thick. That's hardly increasing size exponentially...

If you think the 360 is big to start with, of course you're going to think adding a bumper will make matters worse. It matters not what I think of the photo (which is subject to angle and lighting effects on how it's perceived), you can't argue with physics - they're a couple of mm thick. It's only adding that small amount. You're exaggerating with your ridiculous analogies in an attempt to be humourous. I've seen bigger traditional wrist watches.
Those cases ruin it IMO, just get a plastic screen protector (glass will chip, I tried it) and you're gold.
I've banged this thing against concrete and rough stucco walls and the black metal doesn't get scratched or even dented...
Would like to have one will not influence the appearance of my moto 360.
