Ok, long story short, I need to go back to stock ROM. I am currently running the deadly venom ROM 4.1.2. I have been reading in the forums, but I am getting a little confused. There are so many different topics regarding this. I just don't want to brick my phone. So, do i need to just find the 4.1.2 stock firmware and then use odin to flash it? Or do I need to go back to 4.1.1 and the use OTA update? I didn't know if I went back to 4.1.1 it would brick my phone since i'm on 4.1.2. Thanks in advance for the help.
Download 4.1.2 stock for your phone/carrier and flash with Odin downgrading not necessary

Hey guys,
I'm trying to go back to a stock Touchwiz ROM from CyanogenMod 10.2. My only problem is, I can't Odin back to a stock from because the only Odin compatible file I have is 4.1.1 which my phone will no longer go to since my baseband was updated after trying a former 4.3 ROM.
Can anyone link me to a 4.3 ROM that I can flash in Odin? I'm asking because most of the ROM's I'm finding that are 4.3 require you to be on a TW ROM before flashing their ROM. Thanks.

This link is useless for me as it does not have a 4.3 stock rom listed in their official firmwares. They have only up to 4.1.2 which I cannot Odin back to since my baseband was already updated.

|ROM|Bootloader|Kernel|Modem| AT&T Official 4.3 MJB |24 Nov 2013| There you go all stock. make sure you hit the thanks button for everyone (not my files I just found them)
You cant flash this in odin but can use TWRP or CWM. will get you back all stock. Good luck...

Do I have to be on a stock rom to use this? I'm currently on Quantum V3 and I don't have access to a stock rom to revert to since my baseband was updated.

No you don't have to be on the stock rom to use that, but the bootloaders are for 4.3 so if you haven't updated yet this will update you.
You can flash any rom you want to as long as you do not mess with the bootloader you will be OK. I do not know if this work on anything besides an at&t phone using it on anything else is done so at your own risk just the same as using it.
What about the recovery? any way to get a stock recovery image?
So I need some advice on which ROM to flash back on my phone. I am new to custom ROMs and managed to hard brick my phone. I am going to try a Jig to see if I can get into download mode, however, if I do that I am not sure what ROM to flash back onto my phone. It's a galaxy S3 i747. When this all started I was running JB 4.1.1 on it. Then I flashed CM10 and that went great. After I flashed CM10 my phone said that I was on JB 4.3. Did CM update JB and the bootloader? I know that trying to flash an older bootloader can cause troubles. Afater I had CM running I tried to flash LeanKernel and this is when I bricked my phone. So my questions is, do I need to flash the ROM for JB4.1.1 or for JB 4.3? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Look buddy, the first thing you want to do is flash the latest STOCK rom for you're model. After you've done that you can now backup you're stock rom via recovery (TWRP recommended), after that you now have a stable rom to return to just in case you fail to flash a custom rom. And I would recommend one of the stock mod roms to get the use of all of Samsung's exclusive features. Good luck, and feel free to ask any more questions.

Hey thanks. I really appreciate the help. I got in a little over my head so I'm just trying to get ahead of the learning curve as quick as possible. Now I've searched around for the stock 4.3 flash able ROM and am having trouble finding a clear cut download for it. Do you have a recommendation of where I can find the JB 4.3 stock to flash with ODIN?

There isn't an odin flashable 4.3 rom for i747. The last thing there is is 4.1.1 then the 4.3 you would take as an ota. I highly doubt cm updated your bootloader. Floating around the forums is an sd unbrick method. You could try that. I don't have experience with it, but quite a few people have. Good luck.

Maybe this would work : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2498233 Do some research on it first then let me know. And if you want a good and stable custom rom I recommend using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2504903. Just don't choose the note 3 option, choose the stock.

That is only a method used to root you're phone, not to unbrick it.

But to root I flashed a ROM with Odin. The ROM is linked on that page. At least that is my understanding of how rooting works. Wouldn't that've a good ROM to use to un-brick?
Have you ever updated your phone to 4.3?

Not entirely sure. Never updated to 4.3 on a stock ROM. It was on JB 4.1 before I flashed CM10. However once I flashed CM10 the settings page said my phone was on JB 4.3. So not sure if the bootloader got updated or not.
Thanks so much everyone for the help. I really appreciate it. Unfortunately the Jig did not work, so it is all a moot point in the end. Looks like the phone is going off to get JTAGed.
I have Samsung Galaxy S III T999 that I had downgraded from 4.1.2 to 4.1.1 and I was able to unlock it through out by dialing and going to menu.
Every thing went ok and I was able to do it without any problem.
Few weeks after I restored my phone and some how by mistake I upgraded to 4.3
and now I can't downgraded my phone it keep giving me fail on odin.
I see so many how to downgrade and I tried it twice and keep failing without bricking my phone I was able to get back to my phone.
Is there any thing that allow me to downgrade or I have to wait for mods to come up with answers.
Thank you very much
You're lucky you didn't brick your device.. If you want to downgrade the only way to do it right now is to flash a custom recovery in Odin like twrp or cwm, and then flash a 4.1.x ROM

Is that working now? I had thought you couldn't go back once you had upgraded to 4.3

You can go back and flash any 4.1.X ROM, just don't Odin any official 4.1.X firmware coz that will downgrade your bootloader and result in a a most probable brick.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong....
I've come across a few guides to return to stock but they all appear to be a little dated and was wondering if anyone knew of a good working guide to return to stock from 4.4.2.
I'm currently running quantum and wanting to revert to stock to sell this phone.
Any help would be appreciated!!
UCDMG2 is my current boot loader BTW..

UCDMG2 is the bootloader for Android 4.1.2. With this, you should be able to Odin safely to 4.1.1. However, with the recent reports on the vulnerability of 4.1.1 to Heartbleed attacks, I would advise you go to stock 4.3. Flashing 4.1.1 via Odin would let you free unlock the phone (if it isn't unlocked yet) which would enhance the sale value. Thereafter, you can do an OTA update to stock 4.3 which is the latest firmware yet for this phone.
To install Android 4.1.1, go to sammobile.com or androidfilehost.com to download the stock firmware for I747UCDLK3 and then flash this via Odin. If your phone is already unlocked, then you can flash 4.3 via custom recovery using the instructions posted in the thread below ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658486
If you require further guidance, I'd be glad to help.
NB
If you are selling online, I would advise you take a look at Swappa.com which is the XDA endorsed site for buying/selling of phones. You'll get top price there and less likely to be burned as could be the case with places like that online auction site.
Thanks for the reply. I was getting ready to download that one. It appears that I should just be able to flash it in TWRP right? I had my phone factory unlocked about a year ago so I believe I should be good to go to 4.3.

Yes, you should be able to flash the 4.3 straight from TWRP. This has always worked well for me. Good luck!
Just wanted to say thanks it worked great!
or you can just use the leaked 4.3 bootloader UCUEMJ2 or the 4.3 leaked stock rom
that will allow you to go back to 4.1.2 or 4.1.1 whenever you want to without the troublesome that comes with UCUEMJB bootloader =D
but again if you're unlocked and you're sure that you won't go back to older version
then just flash the official version
I sold my Note 2 for Sprint and I now just want to flash a stock Touchwiz ROM or near stock at least. I haven't used the phone in a few months and i've looked over the development forum but i'm unclear on what to flash. I remember seeing a stock ROM but I can no longer find it. I am currently on Dirty Unicorns 4.4.4, baseband L900VPAMA7. All I want is the easiest way to send my phone to the buyer with a stock or near stock experience. I want the easiest avenue because I do not want to brick the phone right before I send it out. I also have a nandroid of my first stock backup of Android 4.1.1 which I don't know if it is safe to flash. Can someone please steer me in the right direction? It would be really appreciated. Thanks.

From what I gathered and correct me if i'm wrong, simply flashing the MC2 Stock zip, it will unroot the phone and take me back to stock (what version of Android does it downgrade to? Will the phone be able to receive the updated versions of Touchwiz?). If I want to stay rooted, then i flash the root.zip file right after i flash the MC2 Stock zip? (Would this be able to get updates to Touchwiz?)
Are there any other alternatives to getting a stock experience?
I did this about 2 month ago and it went back to stock unroot...yes u will be able to update... also it u want to stay rooted then flash the root file right after before again before rebooting and it will stay rooted ...no if stay rooted u will not be able to get update.... If u reall wanted to stay rooted there's a few stock rooted rom .. link provided

If you have taken the ne2 ota or flashed it with odin DO NOT FLASH that file. If you have not taken the ne2 update than it is ok to use.
