Hi
is possible mod the audio on this phone the stock is too low?
any help
used XPOSED INSTALLER and install the XVolume30 Module.
or BUY Volume+ in the playstore. Can boost your speakerphone and even earpiece volume by A LOT (meaning you can phuck up your phone speaker hardware if you get carried away)...I had to use it in my car just today..and it works on JB still.

I've been using this app on the G1 and the Cliq and it works on the G2. Seems to need tweaking but it definately increased the volume for me. I recall someone complaining about the low volume on the G2 so I thought to let peoples know it works...its in the market...v.3.6 by Meltus

I used to use it on my G1 too. I just installed it on my G2. However, I can not detect any changes, with any setting. Neither the in call volume or speaker sound any louder or better. The changes on the G1 were not just noticeable, but drastic, so I don't think I'm missing it.
I am using the PowerAmp App. I recoomend it if you feel like the G2 speaker isnt enuff. It wont solve all your sound issues but it works well when playing mp3's with or without your headset

+2 i agree
Between mixzing and power amp I prefer power amp for the sound. Hopefully meltus comes out with an updated volume app soon.

I am having trouble hearing anything on the ear piece of the phone. I am finding myself pressing the phone into my ear to answer calls.
Is there a way to adjust the ear piece speaker volume ?
silly question but have you tried using the 'VOL UP' button whilst in a call?
try using louder Volume Hack if you have root access
or you could use the Rempuzzle Rom 2.42 update package which has the Xloud plugin which increases the volume

louder volume hack screwed my phone up. the in call audio turned distant and tinny and the speaker vol (when listening to music) just distorted.
I played with various settings, but found that putting my phone in a bowl is the best volume hack, doesnt help in call tho...
If it is 2.3 Rom , try Beats audio... flashable zip is available for our wildfires...

But Beats also work on 2.2 (look at Rempuzzle).

If u tried every software trick and it didn't work then maybe its a hardware problem
Go get ur speakers replaced/repaired
Or u can just talk with the headset
It has a mic u know

I'm on 4.0.1, build ITL41F . My ringer volume/notification volume is ok. But my system sound (screen clicks, keyboard clicks, lock/unlock clicks) can barely be heard. I've tried 3rd party sound managers and increased system sound to the max, but still can hardly hear the sounds. Anyone with the same problem or know of a fix ?
I use the external speaker to listen to podcasts while doing work around the house... I swear the GN's speaker is half the volume of the Droid's.
It's a hardware thing. The speaker on all Samsung phones are weak.
I dont think thats true. The sgs2 has an extremely loud speaker.
My SGS2 too has very loud speakers. So i'm still having this system sound volume problem with my GN. Again, ringer/notification is ok, just system sound clicks..etc..

I dont know what volume managers youve used before, but you need to root and use volume+ to set it to +8 or +9

You don't need root for volume +

I think the system sounds are meant to be faint in ICS,It makes sense,I wouldn't want the clicks & what not to be any louder although having control over the system sound would be nice so if you did want it louder that would be possible

Is there any app that would allow an un-rooted gnex to have louder volume over a wired headset for phone calls?
Very very very simple solution. Get the free Equalizer app from the market. Problem solved.

No you do not! You need root only to modify on call volume which on this phone is fine to begin with.

Equilizer app does increase the system volume ! Thx !
I looked thru the kernel code and could not find any audio driver to tweak the audio levels. On the nexus one you could tweak value in the kernel to boost all volumes. No such luck with this kernel though.
I'll stick with equalizer app for now I guess. I'll try volume+ too.
Ok so I switched from S2 to Gnexus. And alot of things are lacking when it comes to hardware but the most significant is speaker volume. Is there a way to tweak or mod the speaker volume for notification and incoming call ringtones. Perhaps an app? Thanks.
volume+ in the market or visit the devs site for the free full version.
The free version from market doesn't work but the one on the devs site does.
Once installed change your volume to +9 or +10 and enjoy the speaker the way it should have come.

Is Google going to release a fix, or is it a hardware limitation of the speaker?
I read Volume+ does increase the volume but then the sound quality isn't that great.

Equalizer app is a superb option free in the market and doubles the speaker volume. Just max out all bands.

it works fine for me, no distortions whatsoever.
When I talked to someone on phone. No matter what headphones I use. They say I sound very quiet through them and can't hear me. Any fixes?
I am in the same boat with the DU 4.3 rom. Anyone find an answer to this, could another kernel help?
Same here.
Bump, I have the same problem, mic is low for some reason and people can't hear me very well. Turning on speaker phone seems to fix it for me though. odd
low mic volume
hello there. I experience the same issue on cm11 ( same with cm10 , slimkat ) I tried the CM utility for maxim in call volume but that didn't boost the microphone.
All people complain they can barely hear what I say.
What is there to be done? I:crying:
must mention Boeffla Sound Control app again did not help and had no problem with the microphone on the 4.3 stock ROM on my S3.
Currently using, fresh install:
CM: 11-20140706-nightly-i9300
Android: 4.4.4
Baseband:i9300XXUGNA8
Kernel: 3.0.64-cm-g5e96596

I don't know if this is a general fix but I managed to solve it for the above mentioned rom.
I installed the CM10.1-10.2 vol_tweak.apk ( but this only didn't fix it on its own) and after rebooting modified HEADSET, SPEAKER, BLUETOOTH, USB/DOCK in DSP MANAGER
HEADSET:
Compression is enabled, Efect strength moderate, bass boost enabled Equalizer is enabled with vocal booster, loudness compensation is strongest, headset virtual room effect is set to large room
SPEAKER:
bass boost is on, effect strength is moderate. equalize is enabled with vocal booster.
BLUETOOTH
compression is enabled, effect is slight, bass boost is enabled, with moderate effect strength, equalizer is enabled, with vocal booster
USB/DOCK
Compression is enabled, effect is moderate, bass boost is enabled, with extreme effect strength, equalizer is enabled, with vocal booster , loudness compensation is disabled, room is set to large room.
Hope it will work for everyone with the same issue I had. If there is somebody who can better explain what the modified setting please reply
This is a known bug with all cm based 4.2 and above Roms. There is no fix for it, if there us I have yet to see or hear of it.
Theres one simple trick you can do to get the volume normal.
During your phone call press volume down then back up (just one tic) it should make the call volume much louder. It works on all cm11 based Roms.

Up until now I had no problem with the volume using the settings mentioned above. There is no need to push the volume button up&down.
