Is there any information about the different basebands or radios for the tmobile galaxy s4? I'm on m919uvuamdb at the moment. Are the other or newer radios better? (ie: provide better reception and/or better 4G/LTE connectivity)

There is actually a thread devoted to this topic which can be found through the search function. There has been MDL and now MK2 after the one you're currently on.
Really a thread on the benifits on mk2 vs mdl? Haven't seen it and I've been reading all I can on the change. Just how to install, retain sound, wifi, not trip knox. But nothing on how its better. All I know is you won't get data drops on 4.3 roms using mk2. Id love to see this thread devoted to the topic he was asking about. ....

I'm confusing as well. Now my Tmo S4's baseband is mdl,so can I flash the 4.4 kirkat rom?
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda app-developers app
so does it matter what rom I flash my baseband on whether I downgrade or upgrade the baseband on a 4.4 rom or any rom?
You can run a 4.4 ROM without flashing mk2.
Also , with mk2 you can run all the roms.

I have mk2 baseband with mdl stock rom because I upgraded then had to restore due to NFC force close issues on current latest 4.3 rom. Works fine

Hi,
My device wifi is having some issues. Before flashing hypernote my stock rom wifi was 100% rock stable. Now my device on LJ2 modem is not stable. How can I find and flash other modem versions? Or how can fix my wifi? Router settings stayed the same.

There is a difference between radio and modem.
Radio is bootloader and modem is modem.

Don't flash T999(v) firmware. This includes baseband. Only ROMs and recoveries for you.
And kernels.

When u say t999 firmware you mean stock Odin tar? Not t999 roms?
I'm mainly a 1-2 kind of rom user.

No it will not get its own sub forum. It will be like the T999V where there's really not a lot to worry about as long as you stay away from the rest of the firmware.
Roms, recoveries, and kernels only!
Things will get simpler as time passes. And we will see some roms based off the T999L, but I wouldn't expect many.

Correct. I call roms, roms. And Firmware can be any combo that includes other partitions to be flashed.
Wicked should be fine. I am assuming that an ICS rom will eork, but don't know for sure. Nandroid your current to be safe. You will also need to flash an ICS kernel. Pretty sure any of the ones I've got listed in the other thead won't work.
I am interested in how this goes so please report back. And ill answer aby questions I can about it as well.

Well the v10 is actually a jb 4.1.1 build not ics... but its aroma installer so your forced to pick stock or deviant kernel during the install which may cause to fail not giving me option to flash your uvuamb7 kernel after the install if it fails during the aroma install... see this is what confuses me, I'm no noob but I also don't wanna Brick or Bork this new phone. ...
Should I avoid aroma installed roms?
And how do I know if I Should flash the uvuamb7 or uvdmd5 kernel after a rom flash which goes for which??

Lol! Oops! Been a bit since I've thought about 4.1.1. Sorry bout that.
Pick whichever kernel you prefer from aroma. As I said in the other thread if the rom includes a kernel, you don't need to worry about it.
In the event you do flash one without, you can use either of the kernels. They both work.
Was something not clear in my thread? Was pretty sure I had that covered.
And lets have further questions there if you don't mind. Best to keep the info together.

wicked v10 is stable on t999L
I had to flash the uvamb7 kernel+ modules
Initially core apps such as camera would fclose

You will still have the modem issues. This is why we need to wait for T-Mobile to release the modem with 4.3.
what about Knox... be very careful flashing 4.3 roms... you don't want the 4.3 kernel and be stuck.
