I have been running the MIUI Port for the Evo for almost 2 days now and I have fallen in love with the lockscreen. The OS is experiencing some bugs and issues (It's a port, what can you expect) and I just wanted to pull the lockscreen from it to run it over CM6 (they're both AOSP roms)... Does anyone know the files or anyway that this can be done?
Bump... Anyone?
I wish I could help. Just keeping your thread alive, people don't like to help that much around here unless it benefits them.
Check System/App
There should be a lockscreen .apk in there.
I'm not all that great with this stuff but you should be able to pull that lockscreen, delete the one from CM6 and push the new one with ADB.....I think, lol.
I think that this would be a good first chef project for me-- pulling the MIUI lockscreen and making it installable on other rom's. It's just too damn pretty to leave to MIUI.

Absolutely... I've grown to love the contacts and dialer as well. I been asking around and everyone's telling me its to waved into the system, and will take a lot of work.

I understand that it's heavily tied in, I don't have much programming experience but I've been looking into the various methods as to how I can pull that lockscreen from the OS but I don't even know where it resides. I would think that it is tied into the framework-res file?

Yeah. It's ridiculous. I've all but given up. Just hope that this is one of the gingerbread features we get to see.

thank you lokko, just a quick update posted. needs some tweaking still.
the green status bar dropdown icons just didn't go with the all white statusbar icons. so this will do until i get time to tweak it.
mostly they just need to be scaled down a bit i think. will address in next update. probably be a few days though.
Is this compatible with any other ROMs? If not, what makes it incompatible?

Honestly i don't know if it will work on other roms. i just haven't tested it on anything but starburst and the mods were done to starburst files. there is a chance it would work on some others but i just havent looked at any of the others too see.
don't know if there are any changes in these files from rom to rom but if your feeling brave do a backup (either full or just the files listed) and give me a shout to let me know how it goes.
once i get it mostly finished in the next few days if enough people want it for a specific rom i might could port it over if it doesn't work. but at the moment im planning on pretty much just supporting starburst because that's what i use. and it's way easier for me than having to keep up with changes across multiple roms.
This theme is awesome! Thanks so much for your hard work! Are you planning on taking all the green out? That would be amazing.

Thanks alot. I figured there were a few people who would like something a little simpler without all the colors. That's the plan anyway to get rid of as much of the green as possible and get a usuable interface. I've got quite a big update coming in the next coupledays.
Starburst has extra xml edits and the android-policy.jar is modified heavily for starburst. You'd have to make a non lockscreen edition for viper and stock deodexed. If we're talking about just the systemui, it may work.

Thanks good info. I figured there was some major differences in the files I just never really spent the time to check what they were and see about compatibility.
I've got all the icons set up in a nice folder tree that should make doing it over again on other Rom fairly straight forward.
Maybe once I get the starburst version working and can keep up with its crazy update schedule. (A good thing for us users in my book) ill port it over to the other roms.

yup that was what was meant to happen.
when charging stops on your current battery percentage.
then rolls up to 100 to show it's charging.
but never fear a big update coming this evening.
then a version with an alternate battery icon.
then if you don't like that just let me know what you want it to do and i'll make another version.
or if you have something more specific in mind describe it or better yet find a pic of what it looks like.
i like requests i think everyone should have the phone look and act how they want it to.
and i was soo getting tired of all the green
Really looking forward to the update! Any chance you could use the inverted google apps next time around? They look fantastic if you haven't seen them you should definitely check them out. I think the only other theme using them right now is Honeyglow v3.
Nice cant wait!!!

1 minute Initial BOOTUP TIME
Excellent Use of all available JB partitions
Very light and even somewhat future proofed... How, you ask?
Well I simply didn't include apps that were in the /system or /preload tray that are easy to update on PlayStore.
So what ends up happening is our device has an old version in system/apps and a newer version is in /data using space and resources in both folders.
Gnow for instance will have two copies [one old one new] as soon as we update if its included in the system/app.
Don't include it and it goes to /data only and works like a charm.
That being said I made excellent use of these folders we have on 4.1.2 .
My kernel is included... I built it from from Samsung source for full function of our device. Of course the Rom is compatible with our 4.1.2 kernels uvmc6 found in our dev threads for our devices.

~~~Giving Thanks~~~
Giving thanks is important. It lets people know that their work or answer is appreciated. It is a faster
method of feedback than posting a reply like "Thanks for your answer!" You must have one post to
give thanks, so here is a good place you can do that: The "Say Hi" thread.
You can go do that now and come back and finish here please.
You get 8 thanks per day, and they renew after 24 hours or so. Each thanks is independent of the others,
so if you give someone a thanks at 3, and then another at 4, those will renew at 3 and 4 the next day.
If you run out of thanks, then save that page in a new tab and give thanks later when you have one available.
If you use them all every day you are doing it correctly.
Another classic rom from Rushing?! DLing now! Woot!
Nice to see another one of your ROM's
Not questioning, just asking.... What's wrong with Jedi? I've ran it several times in the past and never an issue. I only changed to go back to the AOSP feel / Vanilla. Everything Rushing has ever put out has been above par and right on task as a daily driver. I will say that he doesn't publish often, but when he does its worth taking a look at.
But like always, nandroid first and then test this out. If its not for you, no hard feelings, return to previous setup.
You could always after flashing this ROM, you flash a Telus specific kernel and radio!
That could always work, a lot of people from the sky rocket community flash ROMs from the t-mobile s2 forums they just flash their kernels and radios and it works just fine!
I'm sorry but is there a way to change the setting ui to stock color?
if not, thanks for great ROM
Rushing,
First, thank you for your hard work. I will be using this ROM as my daily driver.
I've been thinking about the UI recently and I see that you have power toggles enabled on your phone. Is is possible to create a MOD disabling the toggles and brightness bar so that power toggles takes the place of the SystemUI toggles? The reason I ask is because I think it would 1) be more visually attractive & 2) save space, the toggles and bar take up ~1/3 of the screen in the notification shade.
Also, I think it would be very efficient if the search key were remapped to recent apps.
*I know the things I mentioned potentially cause problems with stability but I think they would make good add-ons.:good:
Great room. Smooth. I have one question though. I couldn't get my Gmail calendars to show up. I downloaded Google services and even downloaded the Google version of the calendar. I checked my accounts and calendars don't show up to sync. I did a fresh install and used the wipe scrips.
Hello,
With kudos to our Devs, I just thought I'd mention what has been posted in Google+ today through XDA, that both links are given for Xposed installer and Gravity box. These are particularly relevant if, like me, you have found issues with many of the roms offered and, after unlocking and rooting, would still like some rom like function in the stock rom. By rom like function I mean: Lock screen tweaks, status bar links and in particular power bar tweaks, that allow for reboot, recovery, etc, pie controls, expanded desktop and navigation bar tweaks. These 2 apks along with the Elementalx Kernal, make the stock 4.3 rom far better than stock and in my estimation, and equal to many roms with far less issues and continuous flashing.
This is what I have been using for a while on my flo. Was using some other all in one like gravity box but it was buggy. Gravity box is the best. I hope the get this 4.4 thing figured out though.
They will most likely iron out all the issues with gravity box on kitkat once Google officially releases it, right now our kitkat roms have quite a few pieces of 4.3 to make it boot and function and since we don't have a complete 4.4 factory image for flo we can't get custom features to work.
Hi all,
For ones who run Kitkat rom, which one is better; using ART or Dalvik with Xposed Framework?
Please share your experiences. Thank you ?
Hidayat
Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk
ART does open and make certain apps operate much faster but have got to give up xposed because it’s doesn’t support ART. Improvment of battery life isn’t really that significant for me though but I’m staying with it.
Ya xposed will force the runtime to revert to Dalvik upon reboot if you have it installed.
Sent from my Optimus G Pro using xda app-developers app
Damn that's a hard choice....
Dalvik+Xposed+Greenify or ART
I always use ART, since it's one of the new things in kitkat, so don't want to miss it And Greenify is also great application which contribute to battery saving. So, I am currently using ART plus Greenify without Exposed.
But I really like Xposed which rich of feature and could improve our OGP performance
