MMS doesn't seem to work for me on any ICS based custom ROM (It just says "Sending" forever).
Is there anything I can try or do?
Telus DHD, unlocked on Rogers Wireless.
Tried Ice Cold Sandwich & C&CICS and something else I don't remember.
Thanks.
EDIT: Resolved. Switched to aospX and it works. Apparently issue is just with those other ROMs.

The only thing I've done to make it work is to flash to a newer radio :
I was testing it with 26.06.04.14 radio but MMS wasn't working.
since I reflash with 26.14.04.28 radio and now it's working !
Hope it help others.

Thanks for the advice, but unfortunately I just tried it and MMS on 26.14.04.28 on Ice Cold still doesn't work.
Could you both test do disable Wifixmanager in Applications then reboot.
After the reboot, please enable Wifi, wait a minute then disable wifi again and test to send MMS again please (Be sure to have Data enabled).

Try sending the MMS twice back to back. I have had to do this on alot of ICS roms. The first one will stay sending but when it I make the mms a second time and send it then it normally goes right threw even though the first one is still sending

I just disabled Wifixmanager and flash radio.
To be sure Lord asked me to flash the old radio to test if it was a radio Issue and it wasn't working anymore.
I reflash back to the last radio and it was working ...
I just can share my personnal experience

Thanks though.

1 - Is your APN set correctly.
2 - You do know mms need your data on to send and receive mms, it will not send or receive thru wifi.

Hello everyone,
I followed the instructions at galaxynote2root.com for rooting my AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and all is well except sometimes my phone will lose the data signal all together until I either put it in and out of airplane mode or restart the device. I also noticed that I do not get an LTE signal inside the buildings of a lot of places in town where I know I had LTE before. Is their anything that I can do to fix this? Anyone else having this problem?
Thanks!
Matt
Google att apn settings and check to make sure they are still correct. You shouldn't have issues with signal after root but weirder things have happened. That is a good place to start.

For some odd reason this is what it was set to:
Name: ATT Phone
APN: phone
MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
APN type: default,mms,supl
I changed it to what I found on the internet for AT&T LTE:
Name: ATT PTA
APN: pta
MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS Proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Auth: none
APN type: default,mms,supl,hipri
Would those small differences cause that big of a problem?
Another weird thing. Everytime I restart my phone I get a message that says "Android is upgrading"
Is that supposed to happen?

Nope
that is normal when the dalvik cache has been wiped - not a bad thing - what it is doing is reorganizing the app chain efficiently... it's not actually upgrading. i can't remember if it would do that when you change apn cuz i havn't done it in a while but it's not bad but also whouldn't happen on every bootup unless you change some stuff up in recovery or flash a new rom, etc..
I wouldn't say you have to re-root..... but if you choose to that is fine. the no trip rooting method basically roots and then installs a fresh rom while resetting the counter, it's a huge file and will take a long time to flash so if you do choose to do that don't get anxious and pull the cord on odin or close it up.... it's actually why I won't do it, if i need to reset counter i'll just use triangle away. IMHO it isn't necessary

Thanks for clearing that up for me! So it is safe then to apply that no trip rooting method over my current root? Will I lose everything already on my phone? The no trip root and ROM it puts on my device will not be any different in regards to the battery life I'm getting also, correct?

Yes it safe to put over you root. If it make you feel better though go into su and choose unroot option...but it isnt nessesary. No you will not lose any apps on your phone. No it is a stock room with su injected into it..no change to stock so battery will be exactly the same.
Just do it!
if you are worried about losing anything you can get titanium backup from the market - playstore and do a backup of apps. It can be saved to your internal or external sd or uploaded to dropbox. you can flash the no flash counter root if you'd like and then, because you are rooted, you can just use titanium backup to restore all your apps... but don't restore apps + data, that leads to issues sometimes. that way, you will not lose anything and have a godo backup... it's always a good idea to have one of those anyways. Don't be confused with titanium backing up your apps only and a nandroid backup which is essentially a full backup of everyting - it's also wise to do one of those and you can usually access the backup method via the custom recovery you flashed - either twrp or cwm.
I still have the same root installed from galaxynote2root.com. I would like the multiwindow support that is in todays OTA update. What do I have to do for my phone to successfully get the OTA update?
I'm having the same issue with my note 2. After rooting, my mobile data keeps going on and off. I noticed after installing CleanRom ATT (which I think has nothing to with it). I did a bit of research and heard about the modems. I had the J2 modem so flash the K7 and it works alot better. There are still some area where I lose data . whereas with my note 1 I had 4G LTE in the same areas.

If you're unsure about your root method or want to unroot, make a back up or anything at all on your Note2 I highly recommend using the Note2 Toolkit, http://www.skipsoft.net/?page_id=381. It's a lot of horse power but it walks you through everything very well. I'm even going to install the donate version I like it so much. And about backups, it will do a NAND backup and store it on your PC, FREAKIN AWESOME!
I just wanted to let you guys know that I had data issues after installing this Rom. At 1st I thought it was just my modem (J2) so I flashed K7. That helped, but still had data issues in certain areas where I always had data on my previous device (note 1). So I installed another Rom and now I have data in the areas that I used to have.

I have the same settings as MattPhillips listed. However, all of the settings seem to be "locked out"; that is, I can't edit any of them. I've never tried to mess with anything like this before; any links or info about what I'm doing here? What do all these settings mean, other than they obviously control how your phone talks to the cell towers?
My problem is that the phone NEVER connects to mobile data networks (2G, 3G, AT&T's "4G", or real 4G/LTE) at all. Everything else works; voice calls, SMS, Bluetooth, WiFi, etc. are all functioning as expected. I've flashed several different ROMs, but I'm currently using CleanROM 3.5. I had already rooted, installed TWRP, and flashed CleanROM 3.3 before I activated the Note2, so I don't know whether mobile data worked on stock. I've also tried flashing various modems; currently on I317UCALK7 (tried J2 before that). For the record, it is an i317 (not M or international) Galaxy Note II, ordered direct from AT&T. In "About device" -> "Status", I see the following relevant parameters:
Network: AT&T
Signal strength: -99dBm 7 asu (varies, but typically near this when indoors near a window)
Mobile network type: UMTS: 3
Service state: In service
Roaming: Not roaming
Mobile network state: Disconnected
Any advice? Should I flash back to stock, Triangle Away, unroot, and pursue warranty with AT&T? Or is there some troubleshooting I can do? Does the problem lie in hardware, modem, ROM, settings, something else (could something have gone wrong during activation?), or a combination of more than one of those? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I'm trying to flash back to stock, to see if that fixes anything, and if not, at least it puts me that much closer to calling AT&T.
However, I'm having a lot of problems getting that to work. I got a stock ROM from stockroms.net (I317UCALJ2) - and confirmed it is identical to the one listed at SamMobile via a binary diff - flashed it, and get stuck in a loop, right after the AT&T ball-dropping "Rethink Possible" animation; it goes to a black screen with "SAMSUNG" written in white letters, with a blue shadow fading in and out behind it. This happened on the ROM from stockroms.net, as well as the ROM from mrRobinson (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2004650).
It does not happen for the stock root de-odexed ROM Scott posted (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2070105); that one boots fine. However, once in that ROM (which does not solve the problem - mobile network still shows "Disconnected"), Triangle Away resets the counter, but it always shows 1 (even though it's supposed to be stock - and it's definitely stock recovery).
I will pay 20$ of the the guy help me to get the 3G coverage
I just bought recently unlocked AT&T made in Korea LG optimus G pro e980
The kernel is of AT&T because when i start the phone i see the logo of AT&T mobile.
I am on Walmart Family mobile plan they are OVN of T-Mobile. I am on unlimited text, data, talk plan, it is included 2 GB of 3G data.
The android version of the phone is 4.1.2, baseband version APQ8064,MDM9X15m Kernel 3.4.0, build number JZO54K,software version E98010k
My APN settings are as follows, i tried the one from FAQ of family mobile too, but i still couldn't have 3G coverage.
Name: T-Mobile US
APN: epc.tmobile.com
Proxy: 216.155.165.50
Port: 8080

MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.50
MMS Port: 8080
MMS Protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
On the top corner of the screen above the network coverage stays the letter "E" (EDGE) and the internet is very slow!
I've seen they are many AT&T brand applications are installed on the device like: at&t drive mode, at&t Locker, at&t Navigator e.t.c.
Please guys what you would suggest me what i have to do. Do i need to root, to unlock the boot loader, or to change the base bands to get the 3G coverage or what? I would be thankful if you answer me with links or step by step what i have to do.
ck.
I live now in Bryans Road, Maryland this area has 3G covered i already checked that.
When i search on networks in the phone i also see signals from AT&T antennas like AT&T RAT:14,3,2 and three for Family mobile.
I already rooted as following steps and everything was fine.
When i go to follow the the steps before install CM11 this one:
"Now go back to ROM Manager main screen and tap on Reboot into Recovery. Confirm your action and soon your Android device boot into ClockworkMod recovery non-touch version".
Then the phone being rebooted but before that it shows "unfortunately com.lge.hiddenmenu has stopped" after the reboot it shows the green android logo toy with red warning triangle sign. It stays on this icon and i can't do anything i can do only a restart after couple of minutes
What you think guys, do i need to make factory reset before all these tasks, or there is another solution?
I would like to get the 3G coverage,
I think the Freegee app has been updated to include the Korean g pro, use that to get your loki'd cwm or twrp recovery, (since our boot loader isn't unlocked yet) after that try checking your APN'S again, and if that doesn't work then try flashing the US's e980 baseband (in the forums somewhere), if that doesn't work i'm stumped, however if it does work and you flash cm11, you may have to use the KitKat t mobile no audio fix to get in-call audio

Which network type have you chosen under mobile networks?
If you don't have that option then you can enable the network type chooser using the sqlite edit.
How I got AT&T TW KitKat 4.4.2 on my T-Mobile Galaxy S 3 T999
I was a TMO customer forever but a couple thing happened.
1. I moved to Maine and there is ZERO TMO data service here
2. I got tired of waiting for TMO to give me KitKat
To correct problem #1, Knowing that our T999 works just fine on AT&T, I decided to change networks. I refuse to become an actual AT&T customer so I went to Straight Talk for a SIM that uses AT&T as the network. I got the SIM and pay 45 bucks a month for unlimited Voice, unlimited Text and 5 GB of Data. I reset the APN and everything is working Marvelously.
To correct problem #2, Although I flashed a ROM a Day back in my Vibrant days, did a bunch of theming and made a few ports myself back then I haven't done poop since I got the S3 a when it came out a couple years ago. Time to change that.
With some direction from joe3681

I decided to bite the bullet and now I'm runningAT&T TW KK NE4 4.4.2 on my T999 on AT&T via Straight Talk.
How to do (you know the routine):
1. You obviouly are rooted with a custom recovery (I use TWRP)
2. Backup, backup backup
3. Grap the ROM, KERNEL, MODEM (from links below) and put the on your SDCard or Ext SDCard
4. go into recovery and wipe, factory reset etc.
5. flash the ROM, then KERNEL, then MODEM
6. Fix permissions
7. reboot and let things settle out.
8. login to Google, restore all your apps and such. ( I let Google Play reinstall them vs Titanium) (don't restore app data please)
9. Viola, TW KK 4.4.2

Everything so far that I've tested is working just fine. You do get all the AT&T bloat (but no TMO bloat), but you can delete it later or from the ROM before you flash if you know how. Connected to HSPA+ so data is fine.
Here's the APN settings for Straight Talk AT&T I'm using:
Name: Straight Talk
APN: tfdata
Proxy: <Leave in Blank>
Port: 80
Username: <Leave in Blank>
Password: <Leave in Blank>
Server: <Leave in Blank>
MMSC: http://mms-tf.net
MMS proxy: mms3.tracfone.com
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type: <Leave in Blank>
APN type: default,mms,supl,hipri
There are a few ports as well, using the same kernel, that works for TMO version. You don't actually have to switch to AT&T to get KK. as for the modem, that's a TMO modem if i'm not mistaken.
my problem with these ports have been that the kernel gives a bit worse battery life (or maybe it's the ported ROM and/or KK), GPS get wonky sometime and wont start even when i open up maps or GPS Test, and camera HDR mode takes 5-10 seconds between shots instead of the usual 2.
The phone works great, but I have no mobile data ?. I reloaded the ROM and still nothing. I had mobile data with the stock room. APN settings? Not sure what to do. Thanks

Let's ask the customary question. When you flashed CM11 via Safestrap, did you flash it to the stock slot? If not, that's the problem. Just flash it to the stock slot and it should work.
