I installed this rom to my Dash and I set up the MMS info like usual. But im not able to send nor receive MMS messages. I have checked over all the info to make sure i type it in correctly. Any ideas
What I used for the mms info

I am not sending or receiving MMS either.
I have also set up my MMS before after installing a new rom. I followed all the steps to the letter. Im not understanding why it isnt working. Is it a problem wit h the rom?

Never had a problem myself. Check and recheck you entries, you are probably missing something simple like a comma instead of a period.
Hi all, I've recently upgraded to 2.3.3 and everything works fine except for one thing, I can't receive/Download MMS anymore. Everytime when someone sends me an mms, I get an notification and when I click on it, it just says something like 'cant download now, try again later error'.
I can send mms with no issues at all.
I did 2 things before this happened:
1. Flashed my phone to generic 1.81 on rom
2. Upgraded to 2.3.3 via OTA
I've also checked the settings for my mms apn and they are all good
any clues guys?

Try to delete the settings (APN) and redownload via the "Sony Ericsson" menu. Alternatively you might be able to do via the SIM Toolkit (it works for me, but might be different for different ISP/countries)
Hey thanks mate!! It worked!!

Glad to know that and there is a Thanks button as well
I am considering buying a new phone, because I am having so many problems with this one.
I am running ICS 4.1.B.0.431 on my Xperia Arc LT15a. I cannot connect to the internet (using my wifi or 3g) for more then 1 minute before it just stops loading. This gets very irritating because to watch or browse something I have to consistently go to my home screen, go left a page, turn wifi off through a go launcher widget, turn it back on, and then attempt to browse whatever I was browsing for one minute before I have to do this again.
I notice this a lot in the default browser, but it happens in most other apps that use internet too. I'm thinking this has something to do with my APN settings, here they are. I had to use these settings to get wifi to work.
Code:
Name:Rogers
APN: internet.com
Password: *** (I forget)
MMC: 302
MNC: 720
Name: Rogers MMS
APN: rogers-core-appl1.apn
MMSC: http://www.mms.grps.rogers.com/
MMS proxy: 10.128.1.69
MMS port: 80
MMC: 302
MNC: 720
I was trying to get MMS working. Did I mess up on the APN settings? I don't even care about the phone lag anymore, I just want a working phone
P.S: I also have a T-Mobile US one which I can't delete.
ICS has some wifi issues..
try deleting dhcp list and reboot phone
use a file explorer and then navigate to root: /data/misc/, delete dhcp folder, reboot phone.

did that, so I tried to test it using the explosm app, and it won't connect to the internet.

Had such problems, too. Now I run JJs Hybrid and it works. The folks on the CM10 thread praise the early releases, so maybe you should give it a try or test the stable CM9.

Hmm, my last experience with cyanogen mod almost bricked my phone permanently, but hell, I got nothing to lose. I'll edit this with how it goes
EDIT: I'm on baseband 72, i'm going to install 73 now with the link you sent me, thanks! I'll hold off on CM until I really need it.
SECOND EDIT: 73 is working for me so far, thanks
THIRD EDIT: aaand it's still pretty bad. Sometimes the connection is slow and barely loads, other times it's nearly instant.
Hello everyone,
I followed the instructions at galaxynote2root.com for rooting my AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and all is well except sometimes my phone will lose the data signal all together until I either put it in and out of airplane mode or restart the device. I also noticed that I do not get an LTE signal inside the buildings of a lot of places in town where I know I had LTE before. Is their anything that I can do to fix this? Anyone else having this problem?
Thanks!
Matt
Google att apn settings and check to make sure they are still correct. You shouldn't have issues with signal after root but weirder things have happened. That is a good place to start.

For some odd reason this is what it was set to:
Name: ATT Phone
APN: phone
MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
APN type: default,mms,supl
I changed it to what I found on the internet for AT&T LTE:
Name: ATT PTA
APN: pta
MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS Proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Auth: none
APN type: default,mms,supl,hipri
Would those small differences cause that big of a problem?
Another weird thing. Everytime I restart my phone I get a message that says "Android is upgrading"
Is that supposed to happen?

Go into anroid develpment forum and look for [root] No tripping flash counter by Mr Robinson.....Follow instructions in op.
But wouldn't I have to un-root my phone before I apply this new root method?

Nope
that is normal when the dalvik cache has been wiped - not a bad thing - what it is doing is reorganizing the app chain efficiently... it's not actually upgrading. i can't remember if it would do that when you change apn cuz i havn't done it in a while but it's not bad but also whouldn't happen on every bootup unless you change some stuff up in recovery or flash a new rom, etc..
I wouldn't say you have to re-root..... but if you choose to that is fine. the no trip rooting method basically roots and then installs a fresh rom while resetting the counter, it's a huge file and will take a long time to flash so if you do choose to do that don't get anxious and pull the cord on odin or close it up.... it's actually why I won't do it, if i need to reset counter i'll just use triangle away. IMHO it isn't necessary

Thanks for clearing that up for me! So it is safe then to apply that no trip rooting method over my current root? Will I lose everything already on my phone? The no trip root and ROM it puts on my device will not be any different in regards to the battery life I'm getting also, correct?

Yes it safe to put over you root. If it make you feel better though go into su and choose unroot option...but it isnt nessesary. No you will not lose any apps on your phone. No it is a stock room with su injected into it..no change to stock so battery will be exactly the same.
Just do it!
if you are worried about losing anything you can get titanium backup from the market - playstore and do a backup of apps. It can be saved to your internal or external sd or uploaded to dropbox. you can flash the no flash counter root if you'd like and then, because you are rooted, you can just use titanium backup to restore all your apps... but don't restore apps + data, that leads to issues sometimes. that way, you will not lose anything and have a godo backup... it's always a good idea to have one of those anyways. Don't be confused with titanium backing up your apps only and a nandroid backup which is essentially a full backup of everyting - it's also wise to do one of those and you can usually access the backup method via the custom recovery you flashed - either twrp or cwm.
I still have the same root installed from galaxynote2root.com. I would like the multiwindow support that is in todays OTA update. What do I have to do for my phone to successfully get the OTA update?
I'm having the same issue with my note 2. After rooting, my mobile data keeps going on and off. I noticed after installing CleanRom ATT (which I think has nothing to with it). I did a bit of research and heard about the modems. I had the J2 modem so flash the K7 and it works alot better. There are still some area where I lose data . whereas with my note 1 I had 4G LTE in the same areas.

If you're unsure about your root method or want to unroot, make a back up or anything at all on your Note2 I highly recommend using the Note2 Toolkit, http://www.skipsoft.net/?page_id=381. It's a lot of horse power but it walks you through everything very well. I'm even going to install the donate version I like it so much. And about backups, it will do a NAND backup and store it on your PC, FREAKIN AWESOME!
I just wanted to let you guys know that I had data issues after installing this Rom. At 1st I thought it was just my modem (J2) so I flashed K7. That helped, but still had data issues in certain areas where I always had data on my previous device (note 1). So I installed another Rom and now I have data in the areas that I used to have.

I have the same settings as MattPhillips listed. However, all of the settings seem to be "locked out"; that is, I can't edit any of them. I've never tried to mess with anything like this before; any links or info about what I'm doing here? What do all these settings mean, other than they obviously control how your phone talks to the cell towers?
My problem is that the phone NEVER connects to mobile data networks (2G, 3G, AT&T's "4G", or real 4G/LTE) at all. Everything else works; voice calls, SMS, Bluetooth, WiFi, etc. are all functioning as expected. I've flashed several different ROMs, but I'm currently using CleanROM 3.5. I had already rooted, installed TWRP, and flashed CleanROM 3.3 before I activated the Note2, so I don't know whether mobile data worked on stock. I've also tried flashing various modems; currently on I317UCALK7 (tried J2 before that). For the record, it is an i317 (not M or international) Galaxy Note II, ordered direct from AT&T. In "About device" -> "Status", I see the following relevant parameters:
Network: AT&T
Signal strength: -99dBm 7 asu (varies, but typically near this when indoors near a window)
Mobile network type: UMTS: 3
Service state: In service
Roaming: Not roaming
Mobile network state: Disconnected
Any advice? Should I flash back to stock, Triangle Away, unroot, and pursue warranty with AT&T? Or is there some troubleshooting I can do? Does the problem lie in hardware, modem, ROM, settings, something else (could something have gone wrong during activation?), or a combination of more than one of those? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I'm trying to flash back to stock, to see if that fixes anything, and if not, at least it puts me that much closer to calling AT&T.
However, I'm having a lot of problems getting that to work. I got a stock ROM from stockroms.net (I317UCALJ2) - and confirmed it is identical to the one listed at SamMobile via a binary diff - flashed it, and get stuck in a loop, right after the AT&T ball-dropping "Rethink Possible" animation; it goes to a black screen with "SAMSUNG" written in white letters, with a blue shadow fading in and out behind it. This happened on the ROM from stockroms.net, as well as the ROM from mrRobinson (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2004650).
It does not happen for the stock root de-odexed ROM Scott posted (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2070105); that one boots fine. However, once in that ROM (which does not solve the problem - mobile network still shows "Disconnected"), Triangle Away resets the counter, but it always shows 1 (even though it's supposed to be stock - and it's definitely stock recovery).
The phone works great, but I have no mobile data ?. I reloaded the ROM and still nothing. I had mobile data with the stock room. APN settings? Not sure what to do. Thanks
Got it working by using the following settings:
Smartphones
Name ATT Phone
APN
phone
Proxy Not set
Port Not set
Username Not set
Password Not set
Server Not set
MMSC would not let me put this
MMS proxy would not let me put this
MMS port 80
MCC 310
MNC 410
Authentication Type None
APN type default,mms,supl,hipri
APN protocol IPv4

Let's ask the customary question. When you flashed CM11 via Safestrap, did you flash it to the stock slot? If not, that's the problem. Just flash it to the stock slot and it should work.
